Eurostars Angli

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Eurostar Angli for 3 nights for a mid week break at the start of July. The hotel itself is clean, modern and very chic ... however, somewhat of a let down. Firstly, the images on the website make the hotel appear much larger than it actually is. The hotel is a good drive from central Barcelona, costing around 8 euros in a taxi in the day time and around 12 on a night. We walked to the Rambla one morning, which took about an hour and a half!! My boyfriend and I stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights. I would certainly recommend this to anyone. We opted for the romantic break which included a bottle of cava and breakfast each day (there was a great selection of food and the room is a great space). This was certainly value for money. The hotel is very modern and the bedrooms are fab. The bed is the most comfortable I have slept in - and the blinds make the room really dark and great for sleeping. Just returned from a short weekend break, location is north of Barcelona just a short distance from the hills of the famous telecommunication tower. The hotel is set in grounds of luxury villas and houses, a quite neighborhood. The walk up the hill from the sarria metro station can be a bit of struggle if you are not up to scratch with ur fitness as we found ourselves. On arriving here the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The entrance was dazzling, bright and very contemporary.......The rooms deliciously comfortable and the bed, well...to die for. Very tastefully decorated but no coffee making facilities only v. expensive mini bar......I loved being here and ok, a fair distance from the buzz of Barcelona but the train station is down the road and it takes 10 minutes to get to the city. coming home at night the hotel is secluded and very quiet, a blessing when needing a good nights rest. Nice idea, but finishing touches were not there. Rooms made from cheap materials and poorly fitted. We had to ask for bathrobes. Limited Restaurant facilities, we couldn't get a drink after 12 midnight, which is terrible. Not enough staff on reception either. They should also fire the electrician - plenty of cool light switches but only one turns on ALL the lights. Finally - A glass hotel in Barcelona needs great air-con - this doesn't! 4 stars should not be awarded purely on image, sorry!

We found the rooms in Eurostars Angli to be beautiful...really modern, lovely big bed, lovely bathroom. The rooms are really clean. There's a lovely view from most rooms to the convent across the rooms or the big villas at the bottom of the hills. The only megative points about this hotel was the location( bit of a walk to the metro station and about 15 mins from the city) this dosen't seems too bad at first but when you have shopping and you have to either lug it around the city or make the trip back to the hotel.. Just had a fantastsic romantic stay at the Eurostars Angli. Really friendly helpful staff answered all our requests. Very chic art deco design throughout, but comfortable and with all the luxuries. We had an excellent 3rd floor room with a panoramic view up the hills. Lovely quiet location (convent next-door), with a tranquil little garden and pool to relax in, which we had all to ourselves most the time. We had an excellent short-break stay at this very modern hotel. The room was very comfortable, calming and clean. It contained a very modern bathroom and all sorts of high tech gadgetry. Common areas were well designed, full of interesting little quirks and very functional. Breakfast was fine, plenty of healthy choices but also really delicious pastries! This is a really nice hotel located in quiet residential area about 20mins from the airport(taxi) and 15min from Plaza Catalunya(train) The good things about this hotels: 1.Quiet and safe area 2.Modern design 3.Nice rooms, clean+sleek comfy bed 4.Very helpful and friendly staff Not so good things: 1.Thin walls 2.Abit far away from everything 3.Expensive but horrid food If you want a quiet place to chill out and stay then this hotel is perfect however if you want a hotel where you can zip in... more

I took a chance on this hotel as I could not find a single review on the web. I was not disappointed at all. It reminded me much of the Hilton hotel at Paris la Defense in France: ultra modern style, minimalist, high tech [ centralized light control, flat screen, room key on a chip-card, free high speed internet in the rooms ]. I would definitely stay here again specially given the rate I paid this weekend: 95 Euros a night. This must have been a special as the rates jump up to 210 Euros on Monday. Pros: - Quiet... more
