Dusit D2 Baraquda Pattaya Hotel

I travel to Pattaya 3 times a year- tried this hotel for first time- worst -was the hotel (not soundproofed ) has noise until 2 am from bars across street- rooms maybe too cool for me but certainly not plush- staff walks around in what looks like pajamas and not very helpful- breakfast was good- but fled to Marriott after one night

The D2 could be the poster child hotel for comfortable "chill." Most everything about it was very well executed. The staff was especially friendly. We liked the D2 a lot. From the minute you walk in the front door you are treated extremely well by the casually dressed young staff. Check in was a breeze, room was great, breakfast incredible. This is a new, stylish, 5 star hotel centrally situated in Pattaya across the road from the Marriott. Its clean line design and trendiness reminds me of the “Adelphi” in Melbourne and targets a similar market I think. At D2, I like the nautical themes of wood decked floors, whitewashed walls, wavy curved edges, and large video screens showing watery scenes. I love the blue and orange theme which blends perfectly to the other earth colours. The hotel is very bright and makes one feel very happy and refreshing. Right from the driveway to the hotel room to the poolside to the restaurant to the sunset bar to the deep bar - it simply takes your breathe away! This modern lifestyle d2 hotel is strongly recommended especially if you are visiting Pattaya with your friends or partner.

Just got back from the D2 and I am already thinking of going back in the near future. Its one of those hotels were everything just works, and the sum is greater than the parts. I really appreciate the Mimosas with breakfast.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 weeks and cannot fault anything, staff friendly, food and room service excellent, I had large room with sea view overlooking pool area, the room was serviced every day to an exceptional standard. The busy nightlife of Pataya is approximately 10-15 mins walk away or 2 minutes on the numerous Baht buses which stop adjacent to the hotel. Derinatley worth a stay!

New clean hotel with a very exiting and modern design - easy to like. Nice rooms with big showers, big tv including dvd player. No carpent on the floor, looks maritim, good smell and easy to clean. Very central in Pattaya, walking distanse to most of the restaurants and bars. The rooms and out area is good isolated from the traffic noise. Very friendly staff who becomes more like a big family - doesn`t matter what department they are working for - your desires and questions will be taken care of from the arrivel to check out.<br... more

In a city like Pattaya if a new hotel is going to create an impression it needs to be bold and innovative.Baraquda is both.Don't expect Thai dancing,fruit carving and tradition but do expect water-themed decor,lots of light and a chilled vibe. Rooms are a highlight with polished wood floors,wraparound bed,wave-patterned walls and Sony TV/DVD.Bathrooms have curvy terrazzo walls,good lighting and rainshowers for two.There's not much to indicate the Thai location and the whole place feels more Miami than Asia,probably by design. casual but professional service provided by the service staff. always eager to please and provide an experience. tasty food with different interpretations. rooms are sexy. would recommend to couples who are seeking to bring back a dash of romance into their relationship.

Recently spent a night at D2 Baraquda and was very impressed by the whole experience. The staff are friendly and cheerful, registration quick and easy and the welcome drink is anything from the well stocked bar. Rooms are big, clean and with the usual facilities, free wi fi, large flat screen TV with all the channels you need. The bed is large and comfortable and is an intersting design as it sits in a kind of pod with a spacious work table behind it. Welcome sweets and fruits.
