Dorsett Regency Hotel Kuala Lumpur

We stayed at the Dorsett for three nights in July this year. The staff were very helpful and always opened doors and helped us to get taxis. However, it is much cheaper to just walk around the corner and get your own taxi there - about half the price of getting one outside the hotel. The room was extremely spacious with a large comfortable bed and a wide screen tv - not that we had time to watch it. We had a lovely view over the city from the 19th floor. after travelling through Borneo we were looking forward to a proper bed and shower however the Dorsett Recency was awfull, cockroaches everywhere in the room, bed sheets dirty and hairy!?? room smelt very stale and damp and staff rude. we checked out that same night and went to the Ritz-Carlton! much nicer. anyone thinking of it...DON'T. less bugs in the jungle than this place!

We arrived in the morning and stayed 3 nights . We had come to shop and have fun. We got an early check in. We expected a good clean 3 1/2 star twin hotel room. Our room was very basic and a bit depressing after a great 4 1/2 star hotel in Singapore. The first room had a lot of mould in the bathroom and had threadbare stained funny half sheets. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in april prior to moving on to Borneo, and we had a very pleasant stay. We found all the staff friendly and courteous, the room was clean and perfectly adequate for what we wanted. Location is good - walking distance to bukit bingtan and monorail. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat in the hotel, but would definately stay here again when in K.L.

My wife and I stayed at the Doresett for 3 days to do a bit of shopping and as we have never been to Kuala Lumpur we wanted to check it out and see what it was like. To start of with, the Reception staff were very rude and not very welcoming at all - it took over 1 hour to check in, once we had finally checked in the bag boys took about 20 minutes to arrive to our room with our luggage. My family and I stayed at the Dorsett Regency from 20th April to 28th April 2007. From the moment that we arrived at nearly 11pm on a Friday night the staff were very helpful and efficient and we were in our rooms very quickly with a minimum of fuss! The rooms were very large and clean, and we had a connecting room for our children. They had 2 queen beds, and were very pleased about that! We stayed at the Dorset Regency in September 2006 for 6 nights for our honeymoon. We arrived late at night and were impressed with the friendly staff and quick check in. We had a corner room and they even brough us up a 'honeymoon cake' which was a nice touch. They use sandalwood incense in the hotel which gives it a slightly musky smell, not horrible, just interesting (which most of KL is anyway!). I stayed at The Dorsett Regency for 8 nights last month and I was disappointed with the Breakfast and the condition of the furniture in the room and bathroom. This hotel needs a major makeover, its room furniture is rather tired and old. The breakfast area is too small for the size of the hotel, too busy and lets face it nobody wants to wait for a table especially in the morning. We were also disappointed with the pool area, this area is very small and very little seating is provided, ie. 12 chairs and 5 sun loungers. I won`t stay here... more

Just returned from 4 nights at the Dorsett Regency and had no complaints. Found all the staff to be polite & helpful. Breakfast was nothing special but perfectly adequate. Pool area was nice. Everything in the Hotel was very clean. Thought we received excellent value for our money. Location was fairly central - approx 8 min (sweaty) walk to Bukit Bintang and monorail however previously stayed at Park Royal and location there was perfect - monorail station right outside. My mum and I stayed at the Dorsett rececently for 6 nights. We found our room to be great, very clean with 2 huge beds and a medium sized bathroom. We had no complaints about the room. The lobby is quite small, but still its big enough. We didnt really like the fact that after a certain time at night you cannot sit in the Windows Cafe (which is the only place to sit in the lobby) without buying something, no free sitting they call it, plus drinks there arent that cheap.
