Great hotel
I stayed in an Executive Room on the 16th. floor. These rooms have been refurbished and are in excellent condition. Small balcony with sea-view. Complimentary chocolates and water on arrival. The only down sides are the ridiculous daily charge for wi-fi and the disorganised reception. Executive room includes access to the Carmel Lounge which serves free snacks and drinks nearly all day Breakfast takes you to another world and any hotel could learn from the Dan Panorama who are the undispute Kings of Breakfast!
Humid Hotel
The first thing one should know about Tel Aviv-Jaffa is that despite being in Israel, the city is humid. It reminded my husband and I of New Orleans in June. We had a room on the 12th floor of the Dan Panorama, which was a decent size. Unfortunately, the confusing temperature control was not functioning the night we were there. This was not good as before accessing our room, we walked through hallways that had windows open to allow the stifling air in to the building. The double bed was comfortable, but my husband and I miss having a... more
Great location
The hotel is right on the beach, a bit off of the beaten track but very convenient to everything. The room was quiet and fairly modern, but the carpet was worn and the shower curtain was a challenge. Check in was just about the best we have seen, and the reception staff were happy to answer questions throughout the visit. The breakfast was also quite good; full Israeli breakfast, more than you could possibly imagine.
I would never stay here again
I've never been more compelled to write a review. We re-confirmed our booking 3 days prior to travel. On arriving at the hotel (from UK) at 10pm we were told there were no rooms available, that they had overbooked. We asked to speak to the manager, he spoke little English, and shrugged his shoulders. 'what can i do?' We asked where we could stay, they said 'try another hotel'. We asked which one and how to get there. They said 'try the InterContinental it's a five minute walk' We said 'we do not know the area, are... more
Pleasant stay!
Some have given this hotel very bad reviews, and I was apprehensive before going. But, I enjoyed my stay, and thought it wasn't that bad. My husband was there on business so we stayed in an Executive room which gave us access to the King David lounge which was great. It serves complimentary light refreshments with beer and wine all day. Couldn't beat it after a hard day of sightseeing to go relax in there. The breakfast was spectacular. Not sure about the review that panned the juice. The Tel Aviv location has a juice bar. Making smoothies,... more
Avoid this hotel unless you are a NY tour group
Dan Hotels are the largest group in Israel and perhaps as a result they have a take it or leave it attitude. Despite being situated next to the Carmel fruit market they had neither fresh fruit nor juices at breakfast, only canned. Similarly in four days stay I never once managed to have hot water for tea, only lukewarm. The room was shabby, with peeling paint, and to add insult to injury on my third day I was evicted to make room for hundreds of American tourists with the casual comment that "we have overbooked, sorry about that but we... more
Okay, but some problems
The hotel is very tired and worn out. You can basically feel it one you enter the room and live with the furniture. But on the other hand the room is quite spacious and clean. The dinner we had was very poor BUT the breakfast buffet was absolutely gorgeous. One final note is that the hotel is not that centrally located.
Very good value and close to Jaffo
We spent 3 nights there late February. Due to renovations, they gave us an oceanfront room which was delightful with a balcony. All rooms have a balcony. The room was large with a refrigerator, the breakfasts enormous and tasty. The location was very good for our tasttes, close to Neve Zedek and close to Yaffo. Since we are interested in soccer, we were able to walk to Greenfield Stadium in Jaffo as well as have dinner on the coast. There may be better locations for using the beach area, but this was pretty close. The... more
Tel Aviv, Dan Panorama, good value
I just returned from my second trip to Tel Aviv, staying both times for 5 nights in the Dan Panorama. The first time I had a room on the 12th floor, which was large and very comfortable. Last time the room on the fifth floor facing Jaffa was similarly furnished, but not as big. In any case the double bed is huge (2x2,10m). The fridge was in bad shape in the smaller room, with no mini bar. Now, in winter the outdoor pool is of course not in service, which I missed. All rooms have a lovely view onto the beach. The stretch of Alma Beach... more
Nice but very average
Average hotel. We chose all 1st class hotel category, but not 1st class by USA standards. All of the hotels we stayed at in Israel were just average. Adequate for our budget, but not excellent. Room, adequate size. Balcony. King size bed. Bathroom and bedroom needed to be refurbished. Basically clean but not spotless. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Nicest breakfast we had in Israel. Staff very friendly.
