Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Chose this hotel because of its excellent central location, and it has always looked quite plush from the outside. Unfortunately I paid for 3 wks accomodation in advance, and as soon as I got my room I wish I hadn't! For the price paid, the room - and in particular the bathroom - is extremely run-down and in need of urgent refurbishment. This hotel has many good points - great location, fantastic food, friendly staff and a lovely large pool. For me though they only just made up for the room which was dirty, shabby and very smoky smelling. We asked to move but they told us there were no non smoking rooms. We have a yound child and therefore spent more time than most people in our room so this probably made it more of an issue for us. If you can put up with a bit of dirt, and don't mind smoke this hotel is still worth considering.

Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur 10 of us stayed at the Concorde Hotel at the end of March for 7 nights. We booked 5 rooms 2 of which were interconnecting for our children. The rooms were the standard room not very big but clean and comfortable and probably in need of a refurb but the location made up for it. We came to KL on a holiday and work visit. Booked the hotel on the hotel website. Premier room/non smoking which is important because of allergy to cig smoke. On check-in, no non smoking rooms in our catagory, said they would get us a Premier room that they would make smoke free (what ever that means). I love staying at the Concorde because of its location (near the monorail station and walking distance to KLCC and the clubbing area). Concorde also serves the best buffet breakfast I've ever had in Malaysia! However, the rooms are not great for the price you have to pay. I have stayed in the Premier rooms and the Superior rooms. The Premier rooms are fantastic. Very modern and spacious. The non-Premier rooms are pretty old, very small and is a let-down for the amount charged for the room.

This hotel had a great breakfast selection very fresh. Excellent staff. well appointed rooms, clean, comfortable very quiet. Nice gymnasium but we had to pay to use it which was not good at 40Ringit! Nice amenities. Good bar with great Philipino entertainers.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now, on consecutive years - 2003 to 2005, and 2 out of 3 times we got upgraded to a suite! When we go back to KL this year we will definitely be staying again. For the price and location you couldn't ask for a better hotel. We'd booked 3 rooms for 2 nights in the hotel. They took almost an hour to check us in ( about 4pm - whilst check in is supposed to be at 2pm). and they could only give us 2 rooms. We had to wait till 5pm till we could check in the final room. Reason given by front desk staff was that the rooms had not been cleaned!! Front office staff were unsmiling, unapologetic and aloof - bordering on rude. Air cond leaked in the closet of my room and all my kid's clothes were soaked. I stay regularly in this hotel for business trips. It is exceptionally well situated in the center. The rooms are clean enough but each time I go a bit less then the previous time. Service is perfect as long as there are not any problems to solve, awful otherwise. The hotel has a generalized canalization problem and water is evacuating very slowly, probably helping the cockroach invasion to progress (in the room, at the breakfast buffet…). I stay in the Concorde Hotel an average of 2 times a month, and having stayed in most 4 and 5 stars hotel in Kuala Lumpur, I can say it's the best choice if you're going there for business or for a short leisure trip. The rooms in the Premier wing are clean, spacious, and well equipped. This hotel offers the same service of the other 4/5 star hotels at a much lower price.
