We booked out of the 5 star hotel Formentor 3 days early because of the poor quality, and booked into the Miramar. The staff were great, very, very friendly. The hotel is 3 star but the rooms quite modern and the bathrooms was far superior than the Formentor. The evening... more

We have just got back from a stay at the Miramar. It had been recommended by friends and it was all they said it was. A classy hotel with plenty of atmosphere and history located on the main walkway close to the centre. We had exceptional service from friendly staff. The... more

Superb location
We have been visiting Puerto Pollensa for many years and usually stay at the Sis Pins hotel but as it was fully booked this year we decided to try the Miramar instead. This is a family run hotel which has beautiful furnishings in the public rooms and a very friendly and extremely helpful reception. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a seaview and very comfortable, the only small gripe we had was being asked to pay 25Euros to hire a fridge, it would have been appreciated if it had been included in the room price as we had 2 rooms at £778 per week b&b. Breakfast was very good witha plentiful choice of hot and cold foods, it was always served in the dining room and we would have preferred to have eaten out on the terrace where lunch and dinner was served. The sunbathing area had plenty of chairs, tables and sunbeds and easy access to the beach so we didn't miss a swimming pool at all. We had only one dinner at the Miramar, which was very enjoyable but in Puerto Pollensa there are so many good restaurants one is spoilt for choice. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return.
fantastico mirramar
went for 11 days everything about this hotel is brilliant,we went b+b.fantastic choice from cereals, bacon eggs etc etc. you can book direct and they will help with everything we are defenitely going back without fail. the resort has some fantastic restaurants for all tastes. finally the mirramar is first class
No Swimming Pool
The hotel is located in Puerto Pollensa. Whilst this isn´t an up market resort it does benefit from the lack of high-rise appartments and some of the ravegous of mass tourism. You will find Puerto Pollensa small but a bit lacking in any discernible nightlife other than a thriving cafe culture. The hotel has well appointed main rooms such as the reception & lounge. The staff are friendly and keen to help. Breakfast last until 10.30am and there is a reasonable spread. The lounge has free internet facilities, and free WiFi. The room that I stayed in had a TV (although with a limited number of channels), air conditioning (which is essential), and was clean. I did, however, have no view, and the room itself was small. Outside the hotel has its own sun terrace on the se but the lack of a swimming pool is a big miss. This is especially the case because at the time of writing sea bathing was limited due to the reeds in the water (only a small area, not deep enough for swimming, had been cleared). The sun terrace was also poorly serviced by the waiting staff.
Loved the Hotel and resort
We stayed in a seaview room with balcony. We found the hotel charming and classy. The hotel staff were not only efficient and helpful but very friendly. The rooms were immaculate. Our room was on the fourth floor above the main entrance, and had a very large balcony which was in full sun for most of the day. Unlike the lower floor front rooms, which were in the shade in the afternoon. We dined in the restaurant on the flower covered terrace on 3 evenings (booking essential) and selected the 3 course menu of the day for 19 euros. We were not disappointed,as the meals served were of a very high quality and not only delicious but with good sized portions. The local muscat wine was an excellent choice. A fridge was available to hire but as we only wanted to store water did not feel worth the cost. One annoying point was the usual saving of sun beds from approx 7am .Having said this, we always managed to find somewhere to sit. We loved the resort especially the Pine Walk and the harbour.
nice terrace
On the face of it a charming small hotel ,which in fact is not so small. I ended up with a room facing the rear of the hotel, not a good move!. The bed was noisy(ie every time you moved it creaked and groaned) Room quite small for a double and if you dont mind your knees under your chin in the bath you will get by. Strangely after you have used your allotted 2 sachets of bath gel and shampoo, thats your lot. It is not replaced. The room was clean with the exception of holes in my top sheet but the noise of the garbage truck at 5 am and someone throwing bottles into a skip at 7am did rather take the edge of things. The walls are paper thin so it is quite easy to hear your next door neighbours telephone call and other nocturnal activities. Buffet breakfast absolutely fine and service excellent throughout. Front desk charming and the terrace at the front is really nice to sit out and enjoy a drink and watch the world go by and enjoy the sea view. A room at the front is a must . Overall a slight sharpening up of their act and it will be quite OK
gem of a hotel
Saw this hotel when visiting porto pollenca for a day last year. a search on the web&we booked for 12 nights, we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, very clean, good food & in the best position on the pinewalk with a private sunbathing patio right beside the sea. We booked a seaview room& were allocated a room on the first floor with a large balcony. Opening the shutters & curtains every morning to a wonderful view of the bay & listening to the army of cleaners chatting away was a wonderful way to start a day, breakfast was fine with the usual english favorites also fruit, cheese, pasteries& breads cereals.. Waiters soon got used to our ways & were happy to suggest places to visit ,when we asked. Evening time was a delight ,if we stayed at the hotel to eat, (we booked b&b) the tables under the trees with candels& flowers,in a prime position to watch the world stroll by. WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED, and an easy climb to bed after a few g & t's. The choice of other reasturants to eat at were only a short stroll away & all on the flat. We will be going back.,soon I hope. If you like walking the hills & mountains are close as is old pollenca, the bus stop is 40 metres from the hotel. As you can see we were very taken with this hotel it had everything we liked in a holiday. O. K .no pool but we like swimming in the sea.
Delightful
This hotel was recommended to us by another couple who had stayed there several times and loved the place. We found it excellent with an olde worlde charm. The majority of the clientele were elderly English speaking but the atmosphere was most pleasant. The food was of good quality, the rooms were clean and well-equipped - we had a room at the back but it was very quiet which we like. The staff were helpful and the rooms well kept. The position is wonderful being in the centre of the promenade and opposite the beach where some people were employed in making very elaborate sand castles! A very pleasant stay and we would certainly go here again.
Very Hard To Beat
Puerto Pollensa is our favorite resort in Majorca and having returned today from an 8 night stay our party of 6 have nothing but praise for this superb 3* hotel. We had booked seaview rooms and they must be recommended as the outlook is amazing,a great start to any day. The welcome we recieved as strangers from Gabriel was exceptional and very unusual in our expierience. Also he personally helped us move our luggage from our car and had it put in our rooms while we had lunch on the terrace. The hotel sparkles from top to bottom and the cleaners can be seen regularly polishing sweeping every item in the hotels possesion. The breakfast buffet offererd something for everyone and we have enjoyed it more than we have done at many 4* hotels. We often had lunch at the Mirimar and found it very tasty and great value for such a premium position on the seafront and the waiters soon got to know our personal tastes etc and did their best to help. All in all the Mirimar will be highly recommended by all of us and will always be at the top of our list for the right hotel in the right place at the right price.
Going back to Puerto Pollensa
My wife and I have been to Puerto Pollensa on many occasions and had passed Hotel Miramar on our walks up and down the Pine Walk. This year we decided to give it a try. Proved to be a good idea. Ideally situated on the sea front with its private sun terrace right on the beach and only 5 min. walk into the town centre.Clean and tidy with friendly helpful staff. We had a sea view room with balcony and it was lovely to open the curtains in the morning and look at the view over the Marina and the bay. Already booked for next year
Old fashioned but enjoyable
Doing our usual thing of not booking anywhere in advance ( as we do in the States), we drove into Porto Pollenca thinking what a dump it looked - Typical seaside Spanish town looking tired and in need of a makeover. We spotted the Miramar as we drove back along the coast road looking for somewhere to stay for the night and called in to see what it was like. Most 4* hotels in Majorca are over rated, but this was a 3* and was better than most of its peers. Situated at the Eastern end of the bay this hotel was in about the best position in the town. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful (always a good sign) and took us to both available rooms so that we could choose the one we preferred. Both were spotlessly clean. We ate at the hotel and went for the 17.50 euro 3 course menu which had a good choice of dishes which turned out to be be excellent quality. The room cost 120 euros for bed & breakfast. The guests were mostly elderly English couples who, one could imagine, returned here year after year, sitting in the same seats and having the same rooms - a bit like Fawlty Towers but without the manic proprietor! On the whole, a nice little hotel with lovely staff, good food and the best position in this average resort. Would I go there again? Yes, if it wasn't in Majorca, a tired old resort island which wouldn't tempt me back in a hundred years!
