Great rooms and location, concierge could be improved
Decor of the hotel and of the room is stunning. Junior suite room 308 with front and side views of the canal, simply amazing. All staff is very courteous and helpful, except the "hairy" guy at the front desk who is a bit aloof and whose choice of restaurant for us was not really good (we asked a romantic restaurant with no issue on price and ended up at a strobe lit forgetful place), and whose knowledge of public transportation is almost none. Room 308 was simply great, also floor uneven but it's a 500 old building and adds to the... more
Horrible hotel experience at the Ca'Sagredo Hotel!!!
My fiance and I went to Europe and Venice was supposed to be the highlight of our trip, especially since that is where he proposed to me, so of course we wanted a great 5 star hotel. This hotel says many times over that it is a 5 star hotel, but there is no way possible Ca'Sagredo Hotel reaches that caliber. First off we both found the staff to be incredibly rude and if they weren't giving us a negative attitude they were being aloof to us and rarely ackowledged our existence when we walked into the hotel. They were no help with dinner... more
Suited for royals
The hotel is pretty much like a museum. I had booked a three night stay with more than a month in advance and asked for a room with view to the Grand Canal. Upon arrival we were toured throughout the hotel to our room (204 also called Sala Sebastiano Ricci). The views to the Grand Canal were not what I had expected since we had to get our head completely out of one of the four windows and look right. However the room was huge and well appointed. It involved a lot of walking, for example if one is at the bathroom and suddenly needs... more
A fabulous way to see Venice!
Having flown into Marco Polo with BA, we got the shuttle to the main port square and bought a vaporetti 72 hour ticket, as the Venetian version of our british tube system, it was the most efficient way to see the whole place. It then took perhaps 20 minutes to get to the hotel, which is adjacent to the Ca D'Oro stop. Brilliantly located right on the grand canal, the entrance to the hotel is stunning, and we were given a very warm welcome by the (female) reception staff. We were showed to our room and there was a chilled bottle of Prosecco... more
Something special
We only saw this website at the last minute and are very pleased we did. Some of the five star hotels in Venice seemed a little tired but Ca'Sagredo was even better than we had anticipated from other reviews. The food and staff were excellent and we will certainly return when visiting Venice. Included in our price we received a complementary Gondola trip which was not a ten minute rushed trip but a full thirty minutes. The common parts of the hotel are magnificient with wonderful works of art. This hotel is new and we would recommend a... more
Great Hotel and Location...But
We had booked this hotel through Luxury Link.com. The package ($1335 US) included 3 nights in a Junior Suite with full frontal view of the Grand Canal. Upon arrival, which was before check-in time of 2pm, we were told that the room wasn't ready. No problem, we went to luch and returned at 2:15. We were told they were working on the room and it would be be 10-15 minutes. Well, at 3:00pm, we were told the room was ready. My expectations were high....and I was disappointed. The room (106) had a view of the canal if you looked out the... more
Lovely hotel
I stayed at Ca'Sagredo August 28 and it was a very lovely hotel. It is right next to the traghetto, gondola and vaporetto stop. When you get off the ca'doro stop on the vaparetto and walk down the alley make a right and the first right and the hotel is the pink building in front of the water. It is truly a grand hotel, luxury in every way. We stayed in Room 409 and it was exquisite!! stair case entrance takes you to a plush bed, living room area, dining area 3 total plasma TVs including one in the bathroom. Oh the bathroom, marble, huge huge... more
Mi amore Ca'Sagredo
I always wanted my first experience of unique Venice to be a memory forever and staying at the Ca' Sagredo , I was not disappointed. This majestic and perfect Venetian Palazzo sits on the waterfront with wonderful views of the Grand Canal in both directions. The Ca'Sagredo is an oasis of calm just minutes from the bustle of the Rialto Bridge. On our arrival we were given a warm welcome and a guided tour of the public rooms, all beautifully restored with elegant furnishings and magnificant works of art everywhere. Our room was... more
Lovely restored palace
Venice is hideously expensive. That said, the Ca Sagredo is a lovely hotel. A recently restored palace, the common areas have beautiful original frescoes and it is worth just walking around the common areas to gain an appreciation of traditional Venetian architecture. We stayed in a junior suite which was very comfortable with a nice sitting area and a huge bathroom and dressing area. Breakfast was lovely, and while we didn't eat in the restaurant, I wish we had because it is served on a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal and the food... more
Great place - L'hotel più bello a Venezia
I feel obliged to write a review for this wonderful place, even though we went way back in June. It probably is one of the most interesting hotels I've ever stayed at, and certainly the most interesting room as we stayed in what was once a library in the palazzo. It is the first time I have been given an art lesson and tour on the way to our room upon check in. We had a personal tour of the main public areas, with explanations about the artwork and history of the place. Even breakfast was pretty special with a Tiepolo fresco on the... more
