Perfect location, alongside ferry quay and square with cafes. Quiet, with other resorts easily reached by bus or ferry.First class restaurant with a wonderful panoramic view, excellent service, good food especially 5 course gala night on Sunday eve. Our 2nd floor room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, air-conditioned and accessed by 2 pristine lifts, plus another lift down to front of hotel. Ideal for wheelchair users. Roof-top sunbathing area and pool clean, small but adequate, with shower and toilet. Highly recommended all round.

Ok, very well positioned with a nice view,if you get a room with a view. In fact, I was in a single room with just the basic and no lake view, but my parentswere in a nice and larger room with a beautiful lake view. The breakfast is at this huge balcony with a great view of the lake, protected from the wind and the rain. Breakfast is just ok, nothing else. We've stayed at this hotel in Sept 2004, September 2005, and April 2006, and found it to be perfect for our needs - Very central to the old town of RIva, super views of the harbour (front-facing rooms) and with other amenities to hand, including a roof-top terrace with swimming pool. The buffet breakfast is good with the view of the harbour for those on the terrace. This hotel is extremely well located with a secure car park and very comfortable accommodation. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is very good, with an excellent table d'hote fixed price dinner menu and good buffet breakfast. The restaurant is partly in a covered (and enclosed for cooler days) balcony area overlooking the main, pretty piazza of Riva del Garda. The Hotel Europa scores on three counts — location, location and location. Set opposite the town harbour it enjoys spectacular views across the café lined piazza and clock tower, out towards the sparkling lake and mountains beyond. If, like us, you are lucky enough to get one of the few front rooms with a balcony, this is wonderful. You can throw open the French windows and drink in the atmosphere. Location was brilliant- views from rooms were great.It was really interesting to people watch etc. Staff were mostly really friendly and helpful- particularly in the restaurant but one of the receptionist wasn't helpful (the other was great). The food was great- breakfast and evening meal- and the conservatory dining room was really attractive, Hotel was clean and well organised. Room service was a little haphazard. Spent a week at Riva Del Garda srayed at Best western Europa was not impressed with the Hotel or the staff very basic,would go to Lake Garda again but not the Europa Hotel

Have just returned from a fortnight at this hotel-family of four including girls of 20 and 16. Would endorse previous review. Public rooms were very spacious and welcoming .Bedooms/bathrooms were fine-not 'exciting' , but perfectly OK and clean -our two overlooked the inner courtyard area (with parasols , where you can sit and read/have a drink) and were very quiet (No mini bar though-would have been useful to keep water cool) .Unless you spend a lot of time in your room, not sure it's worth paying for a lake view as the aforesaid... more

Spend a long weekend end of march. Rooms very italian, basic style and not too welcoming. Breakfast just average with neither great chocie nor quality. Staff reasonably friendly. Not many parking spaces available. On the plus side: great location, lovely terrace with lake view for breakfast and nice harbourside front. Not a real dael at € 95.

Have just returned from a superb week at the Europa Hotel - a 3 star plus right on the harbour. The hotel is superb bar none and has a view to die for! You are right in the centre of Riva, and the terrace restaurant has views across Riva over a 5 star meal!! The restaurant is superb - we had 7 gourmet Italian meals, the staff were so professional, and the whole feel was more 5 star than 3! The double glazing in the hotel made sure that even with a lake view room once we closed the window we heard nothing ----- amazing. It really is... more
