We were a team of 6 people and had booked 2 flats. At first sight it looked very homy. However, the bath turned out very filthy and the bath had become outdated. The beds were okay, however, it was dusty in the bedroom. Unfortunately, there creaked all doors. The kitchen... more

These apartments are failry basic, but clean and tidy. I stayed there with my wife and 2 children both under 4 in June 2009. Its fair to say you get what you pay for, as they are great value for such a central loction, 1 minute from both the beach and the square. The... more

We booked into the Daina Apartments which though a bit old fashioned, suited us very well, apart from the fact we climb two flights of stairs before discovering our room and the lift! Although central we were not disturbed. Lovely double balcony to the back which had the... more

loved the peacful dining room and the very friendly staff.
we had a sea front room with fantastic views the hotel is so well located at the start of the pine walk and so easy to get to local transport, taxis and shops. the dining rooms ambience could not be bettered it was so much quieter and more relaxing than any other hotel dining room we had eating in in spain. we have booked again for the same dates this year(2007) but have booked for 11 days instead of 7. reviiewer a trip advisor member wallasey wirral
Small and Friendly Daina
We spent an out of season fortnight at the Daina and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were a little dated but clean and in good condition, the staff were very friendly and the buffet style meals were good. Even over a two week period they managed to offer a good selection of food. The resort itself was very quiet at this time of year but it is a fine location and very different from the Majorca that I imagined. We enjoyed very good, warm and sunny weather and even found the med warm enough to swim in - more so than the hotel pool which was decidedly fresh! Touring the area by hire car - arranged locally - was very worthwhile as there is an awful lot to see outside of the resort itself.
fantastic base for walking
We stayed here as part of the Thomson's Walking package and were very pleased with our choice. As we were taking our adult son with us we selected the hotel partly for the low single room supplement. My husband and I went for one of the sea view rooms and thought this was well worth the small extra charge as the views of the bay were quite stunning. We were on the fifth floor and I would recommend this (or the sixth and top floor) for the best outlook. I would endorse all of the positive comments made in other reviews. Food was a little repetitive after a fortnight but we find this even in luxury hotels and at 3 star prices at least you can afford the odd night eating elsewhere. The resort is not quite fully open at Easter but there are plenty of bars around the square where you can sit out under patio heaters. If they don't do the trick the generous measures of brandy (everyone is at least a triple!) warm you up from the inside. The walking package is amazing value. It cost us £99 for seven walks including transport and the services of a quite delightful guide. The coach picks you up at the roundabout just a few yards from the Daina and takes you to the starting point. None of the walks are circular and all finish near a bar! They are graded 2,3 or 4* according to length and degree of difficulty. Most walkers with a reasonable level of fitness and comfortable boots should manage all three categories. Everybody in the group was really friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience - so much so that we have booked the equivalent package on the Costa Blanca for next year.
Panoramic views
We booked 2 side sea view rooms and were delighted to be on the 6th floor with a vast roof terrace and panoramic views of the mountains, the marina and the coast. Booking was very easy and the fact that we endured a 6 hour flight delay and arrived at 2am was no problem whatsoever. Our rooms were fairly small but clean and comfortable, food was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. No wonder then that most of the other guests were on return visits. One small criticism was lack of shade round the pool area.
noise warning
Recently returned from a nice holiday in puerto pollensa staying at the hotel daina. We had a fantastic view on the top floor where we could see the whole of the bay.Staff and condition of hotel were good and food was of a reasonable standard.Porto Pollensa is one of our favourite resorts and we will return, but i must warn you ,dont book to close to the square in the summer weeks. There are two Irish bars who have live bands that go on till about 3.00 in the morning. They sounded great but most people need their sleep and in our hotel ,people with side views or at the back of the hotel were complaining to reception .One couple we met said they would not come back to puerto pollensa again because of lack of sleep. This is a shame because it is a beautiful resort and people come back year after year. And so if you book a hotel in the centre in mid summer, make sure you book a sea view ,and you will enjoy a peaceful holiday.
Superb Value
Food excellent ; staff friendly and helpful ; room clean and more than adequate ; great location . A real bargain.
A gem of a hotel
Stayed in the hotel Daina 20 – 27 March 2006 and could not fault the hotel in anyway. Excellent and friendly service from all the staff, and the one small maintenance problem we had was fixed in minutes. The food in restaurant at both breakfast and evening meal was superb, even on half board we usually like to visit local restaurants two or three times during our stay, however because of the very high standards in the Daina we did not eat out during our break. The bedrooms were spotless and large, again the maid was very pleasant and although she did not speak English was always cheery and spoke to us in Spanish. The one down side, not of the hotel’s making was the road works outside the hotel, this is the second time in a year the roads have been ripped up for repairs, and arriving in the resort we were dropped off nearly 150 yards from the hotel and had to carry our cases with no help or assistance, luckily we knew the location of the hotel, some guests arriving after us spent a considerable time trying to located it. Not a welcome task carrying your cases and hand luggage and after a flight. Will certainly use this hotel again and can recommend it to all.
A perfect base if you want to be in the middle of the action!
This was our second visit to the resort of Puerto Pollensa. The first time we stayed at the 4 star Hotel Ila D'Or, which is located at the far end of Pine Walk. This was a quality hotel, but we wanted to stay nearer the centre of town, as we like to people watch. The Daina suited us perfectly. The location is very central, but can be a little noisy if you like to sleep with the window open. We were lucky and had rooms on the 5th floor with a side sea view. We stayed B&B as we wanted to enjoy the hundreds of restaurants literally on the doorstep! Can't imagine why anyone would want to eat from the same buffet every evening for a week. Breakfasts were delightful, self-service and buffet style, although the fruit juices were undrinkable, sweet concentrates. All the staff, reception, maids, waiters and bar, were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were compact but very comfortable, with quiet air conditioning, balconies, phone, room-safes (at a small charge) but no mini-bar or fridge. Bathrooms were adequate but tired decor-wise. We would definitely go back. Book direct with hotel and ensure you get room on a high floor!
Noisy nights....
The staff at the Daina are very friendly and helpful and the bar area has been freshly renovated. The rest of the hotel however is in need of a face lift. The setting of the hotel is beautiful but we had a room on the fifth floor around the side and EVERY night of our fourteen night stay we were woken at 4.30am by the noise of the local bar closing! The food was fine for a three star hotel but we would have preferred bed and breakfast which was unavailable. All in all this is a hotel in a beautiful setting but, in our view, is only of average rating.
excellent
Great position at start of Pine walk along front . Food probably best I have had in a 3 star hotel in Spain . Essential to pay for sea or side sea room - if possible on 3 floor or above . Fairly small 60 room hotel which in April was supplying entertainment twice a week . Probably only 60 metres from local bus terminal -- no problem parking car short distance from hotel in April but this could be problem in summer . Mainly somewhat elderly British patrons but beautiful area with good walking potential . No problem in recommending hotel as excellent value in very attractive part of Majorca .
