very pleasant stay
recently stayed at the hotel bisanzio. very pleasant stay, nice location, we enjoyed walking down the little canal streets nearby and walking out to the docks in the am. nice breakfast in the am. helpful people. pleasant room, a/c not real strong, close shutters when you leave during the day, it helps. comfortable place, thin walls, heard flutist for over an hour practicing while trying to rest one day, was a professional musician so that made up for the annoyance. : ) would definately recommend this hotel.
Good location, spacious room
We stayed in mid-Aug 04 & they accomodated the whole family (2 adults & 2 children) in a fairly spacious quad room. The main complaint was the A/C running flat out could not keep room below 80 deg F. As with another reviewer, highly recommend taking water taxi if you have luggage. There are 2 Venetian bridges to climb from the San Zaccaria stop to the hotel. Location is excellent, walk to St Marks square, restaurants, self-service laundry on Ruga Giuffa.
Good location but NOT A GOOD CHOICE
Good location but much better hotels nearby. The rooms were all small with little furniture to rest bags on. The other guests were also discouraged by the size & facilities in their rooms. We paid extra for terrace but it was not ready first 2 night of 4 night stay. When we moved, the view was LOUSY - not like the picture AT ALL and walls were paper thin. Air conditioner DID NOT work well enought in either room to keep 2 adults comfortable. Location is nice but stay at another hotel in area!
a pleasant stop.....
We arrived in Venice by train and took the #52 water bus near San Marco. The Hotel was conveniently located and easy to find. We had booked the suite as there were 4 of us (my husband, myself and 2 teenage daughters). The suite was clean and comfortable however the a/c and bunkbeds were not up to par. The bunkbeds would be fine for small children, but I would not recommend for older children. The a/c was very weak (we were there the beginning of Aug) and was somewhat uncomfortable at night. My suggestion would be to stay away from the... more
Amazingly teeny room
Because I was a single, in for 5 days (attending a meeting) I got an amazingly tiny room the size of a double bed - no room for TV - it was hanging from the ceiling. Smaller than Manhatten rooms! View = wall. I was told they were all the same, but the fire map showed clearly that the rooms right at the top of the stairs were 1/2 the size of others. On the plus side, I wasn't tempted to lounge around my room in the nice a/c instead of getting out touring in 90degree June heat. Room was spartan, cool & spotless, bkfast fine, staff... more
Venice in April
We arrived in Venice by train and took the #1 thru the Grand Canal to the Hotel Bisanzio. It was only 11AM when we arrived so our room wasn't ready. The staff recommended a wonderful little place for lunch right around the corner where we had a wonderful meal. In the lobby of the hotel we saw a flyer for a Vivaldi concert being held the next evening in a church very close by to the hotel. The staff was able to get us tickets for the concert and we enjoyed it immensely -- it was an unplanned bonus. Overall, the staff was... more
Molto bene........... enjoy your stay in Venice, book this hotel
This was our first trip to Venice. When we arrived at night on the vaporetto from the airport, we had our map ready and found the hotel almost immediately. It's about 2 blocks from the boat launch and so close to the Bridge of Sighs. This is a great location. When you are tired and bedraggled you can find your way back to the hotel without getting lost. The breakfast room was cosy and breakfast more than adequate, the rooms were extremely clean and Marco was very helpful in guiding us to the 'other Venice' off the beaten track.<br... more
Nice Little Hotel
First off, I hate Air France their stupid bus driver made us miss our flight to Venice and then they made us purchase entirely new tickets to get there. So we missed a whole day and arrived at the Bisanzio at 10pm instead of 2pm. That said, the hotel is REALLY easy to find. You can take the Alilaguna boat from Marco Polo airport and will arrive within the hour at either Arsenale or San Zaccharia. We stopped at San Zaccharia because that boat left earlier than the other. From there we went right over a bridge and made a left right after the... more
family visit to venice
We just came back from Venice. I must say that finding a hotel that would accomodate two adults and two children was difficult. However the hotel Bisanzio accomodated us in a suite. Upon arrival we found it was a small cabin like room. Upstairs loft with double bed and private bath for the adults and downstairs two pull out bunk beds for my children. We still had a sofa and coffee table to enjoy the TV. The downstairs also had a private bath and Shower. It could not have been greater! We could not have asked for more! Location, Service... more
Great Hotel
We recently stayed at this hotel (during Carnevale 2004) for two nights. Our room was spacious and spotless (I always check underneath the beds to check for cleanliness). I loved the towel warmer in the bathroom. Breakfast was not hot, but it was very good, cold cuts, breads, toast, jellies, juice, fruits, yogurt, ..etc., the coffee was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to Piazza San Marco and to the water vessels, yet it is tucked away from the noise and crowds. I would definitely recommend this... more
