This was our first visit to the Don Miguel Apartments and Puerto Pollensa although we have visited Majorca many times before. The road outside the apartments was under construction but that didn't bother us much. The walk into town is short and pleasant and there are... more

The apartments are basic (circa 1980's decor!) but clean and tidy - we did have a toaster and an iron and the maids came regulary. The location is brilliant for the beach, shops etc and the new road is quiet and not a dual carriageway at all. Puerto Pollensa is a lovely... more

I went as part of a party of 6 adults and 3 babies, our first holiday with the little ones, and I was quite apprehensive about the whole experience, but I shouldn't have been! We pulled up outside the Hotel and were relieved that it at least didn't look like one of those... more

Great apartments - great location! Our first time to Majorca, Puerto Pollensa and the Don Miguel apartments and after reading other reviews we were a little worried about the quality of the apartments to say the least, but we were very pleasantly surprised! As other people... more

These are 2 star, not three. The apartments aren't heated, so don't go unless it's summer. We went in March, and it was very cold. There's a lot of noise from surrounding apartments and the fixtures are dodgy - we had 2 lights hanging off the walls. The blankets weren't... more

4* Relaxation and Unwinding holiday
We recently returned from a short break at the Don Miguel Apartments (28 Oct - 3 Nov, 2006). I was unsure what to expect as they had a 2* rating. However, upon arrival, we were greeted by the manager of the Panarama Hotel who owns the apartments, who proceeded to tell us they were the best in Majorca - and they certainly were. Air con in all room, full kitchen with halogen hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine. Colour TV, BBC channels. Clean, tidy, spacious and good comfy beds for european standards. Although most bars in the vacinity were closed for the season (3 english bars on doorstep), we certainly found an abundance of places to eat in the town, just 5-10 mins walk along the beach/promenade. L'oliveria a little restaurant near Burger King was excellent value for money with Sardines & Salad with drink for €5, likewise lasagne or spag bol and drink€5. Tango and Trio near the Oro Playa were best for 3 courses plus drink for €15. Puerto Pollensa is a family resort with beautiful beaches and fantastic views towards the small mountain range at the back towards Pollensa itself and Formentor. The journey from the airport only took 55 ins, thanks to a new motorway. As you leave airport, head for N19 Palma, then take N20 for Port Alcudia/Pollensa, then it automatically goes to N13 which is all way to Alcudia. At end of dual carriageway/motorway at 2nd roundabout turn left for Puerto Pollensa. This road brings you in via lower old square in Alcudia, so you need to turn left at roundabout and as you follow road round, you will see the bay of Puerto Pollensa. Once on bay after a mile or so, you will pass Hotel Pollensa and Hobby Club. The Don Miguel are behind, next to Pollensa Park Hotel. If you pass Hotel Romantic, then you have missed the turning left. We had a great trip out in car to Palma and the Cathedral was fantastic. Great ambiance. Also trip to Cala St Vincent is worth it. Shopping: make sure you go to large supermarket reached via main road out of Puerto Pollensa, heading for Pollensa, you can't miss it on a roundabout. Food here was very cheap. (Can also be reached on road that goes at side/behing the apartments between hotel and apartment). This road leads to roundabout were Habitat/Duva apartments are, so you need to turn right and then at next roundabout go straight over, than turn left to car park for supermarket. This was a great place to unwind and relax, although I imagine it could be alot busier in summer, but probably nicely so....... We plan to return next year.
