Artemis Villas

I was planning a business/vacation trip to Athens and decided to visit one of the islands. While looking for a small, boutique hotel in Santorini with great rooms, service and views, I ran across a recommendation for Artemis Villas. When I made my reservation the only suite available was the Honeymoon Suite. Although I was traveling alone, I went ahead and made the reservation for 5 nights. It was a great decision. Stayed for the second time in the end of june. The apartment was just lovely for us and our two teenagers - beautiful rooms with lovely patio and balcony. Super-clean; really exellent housekeeping! Nice to see Angela and the others again. The place has a nice "laid-back" charm! We'll most certainly come back. The only small irritation: The charm of this area is the view and the peace and quiet. We spent 5 nights at Artemis Villas and had a wonderful time. The scenery and the view is breathtaking. We enjoyed being able to have breakfast and lunch in our suite. Dinners were mostly within walking distance and when not, transportation was arranged for us.The maid service was exceptional. Our favourite time of day was sitting on our deck and watching the sunset...nothing can compare to that... it was wonderful. It is a truly romantic place to be. Great view, very lucky to have the sunset from your balcony. You see many people standing on the paths, coming from other parts of the island to see the view that you have from your bedroom. The room has a very cosy, romantic feel to it, but this was spoilt by air conditioning that only worked for 3 minutes at a time. We told them on the first afternoon (twice) and they said an enginer would come out....nothing changed! We looked at quite a few hotels on trip advisor before making our decision to stay at Artemis Villas and my wife and I are quite happy with our choice. We had reserved a Junior Suite, but on our arrival were taken to the Honeymoon Suite, complete with wine and flowers. The room was quite large with a nice bathroom and adequate kitchen which we used to prepare some meals. As part of our honeymoon we stayed at the Artemis Villas. It is very difficult to find when you first arrive. The building itself looks fine, it's traditional with blue doors and little white lacey curtains, it has a great view of the caldera, but the room itself, especially the bathroom, were NOT good. The bathroom had a fan that was so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves speaking in the next room if it were on. The toilet seat did not fit the bowl and so would slide off! After reading all the reviews for this accomodation I was really expecting something special, so when i arrived i coudln't help but feel a little disappointed. The location is amazing and the views are spectacular but you would be hard pushed to find an accomodation in Imerovigli that didn't have an amazing view. So my problem was with the room. After searching for weeks on the internet for a way to get married in beautiful, sunny Greece. I came across an ad for Artemis Villas in Santorini. I spoke with the management about my wishes and expectations for our wedding/honeymoon and they happily made all of them come true. They took all the stress and worry out of planning a wedding and gave us a beautiful ceremony that we will never ever forget. We were in Santorini as part of our honeymoon and it was a perfect setting...we'll be back! We spent every evening watching the sun set from our private balcony - directly over the caldera and sea below. Our room was complete with fresh strawberries and other fruit, a beautiful canopied bed with rose petals on top, and candles everywhere. The staff were absolutely delightful, and very helpful with restaurant recommendations, taxi arrangements, etc., as well as just nice/friendly people to talk to. Overall, a great experience!
