Aris Caves was a great place to stay...and the best part of our experience was the hospitality of the owner Christa. She made our stay very enjoyable and treated us like one of the family! The room we stayed in was Room #2 Xenia. It had a FANTASTIC view of the caldera and offered us a private sit out area to have breakfast, wine and just chill out. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer in Santorini at Aris Caves... Aris Caves was simply beautiful. The room I stayed in (#1) was a traditional cave dwelling and although the room was not large (fairly typical by European standards), it was cozy and comfortable, with many thoughtful details. My husband and I stayed at Aris Caves in April 2007. We absolutely loved it!!! Our room, Studio #1, was perfect for us with a double bed, kitchenette, outdoor patio and plenty of space inside and out. Words can't even describe how wonderful our visit was to Santorini. Crista, hotel owner/manager, is extremely hospitalbe and very nice. We met our neighbors in the next room and with Crista it felt like one big family. Aris Caves is a definite must stay if you are heading to Santorini. How often have you been visiting a place when you see another hotel and say to your partner, “Oh man, I wish we were staying there!”? Well this is one of those places. We spent several fine evenings eating out on the main terrace knowing envious eyes were looking down from the promenade above. We stayed in Aris Caves for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. This Cave scored top points for the following: 1. Excellent Host! We were met at the carpark and guided to the property which i must say will be hard to find if unguided. 2. Excellent Room! A room with character minus the modern disturbances such as TV phone and pool. A plus point to allow you to concentrate on just being at ease with the fantastic view and that of your partner. Aris Caves was recommended to me and my daughter by a friend who said "This is the most perfect place to stay. You will love everything about it." Although I believed her, I was not prepared for how much I would "love everything about it." Aris Caves is centrally located in the beautiful little town of Oia at the tip of Santorini. My partner and I spent a fantastic two weeks in 'Folio' at Aris Caves in Oct this year. It was a magical experience and I would thoroughly recommend it. The pictures on the internet are accurate but cannot convey the wonderful atmosphere and tremendous beauty of the place. If you are looking for something romantic then this is the place to be. After Athens, Rhodes and Crete, Santorini was an excellent place to end the trip, and Aris Caves was just the place to do it. Christa (who speaks excellent English) is a warm, caring person who looked out after us . The rooms are simple and clean, and the view is wonderful. Just the place to relax and get out of the hustle and bustle. Loved the other residents (the cats, and Baldwin the dog and his part-dalmatian friend). Our staying at Aris Caves was a great experience. The apartment complex is seated nearby the center of Oia on one of the natural cliff plattforms. The owner of the hotel, Mrs. Aris, looks personally after her guests and therefore ensures a perfect stay. She willingly provides her guests with all kind of tourist information, such as worth seeing museums, interesting hiking destinations, or fine restaurants.
