A Bargain
from Dutch82
Stayed here for 6 nights in early september and paid 69 euros a night (!) through Venere.com. I honestly don't think I could have found a better deal in Barcelona. I got a spacious apartment with 2 singles, a kitchen (including a refrigerator!), bath tub, sofa, dinner table and a private balcony. Also, the air-conditioning works fine and everything was spotless (daily maid service). Yes, the interior is a bit outdated (think 70's style Costa Brava) and it's a little worn here and there, but nothing serious and the beds are fine. The...

Brilliant Bertran
from ritchey
Brilliant, 'home from home feel' hotel. I was travelling alone and very spacious room. Had my own comfortable living quarter, dining area, kitchen, sleeping quarter and en-suite bathroom. I like this type of 'open plan' layout. The hotel is located on a hillside incline , in I gather, a pretty quiet and safe neighbourhood. I took the Green Metro line 3 from Placa de Catalunya, centre of city, in direction of Canyelles terminus. journey time not quite 10 minutes, direct, to Varacara stop,...

Great price, location and quality
from doddsfamily
Our family of four (including children ages 12 and 18) spent two nights here earlier this week. The price (130 euros with tax) is absolutely worth the five minute walk and 10 minute metro ride that other reviewers mention. The quiet neighborhood, A/C and steel shutters make for excellent sleeping. Plenty of supermarkets and other stores nearby. Great for families if everyone is willing to turn off the lights at the same time. Helpful, nice, English speaking desk clerks.
Great value!
from phsinfla
The location makes the hotel seem far from the heart of the city, but it was less than 5 minutes walk to a subway station and then less than 10 minutes into Plaza de Cataluyna. It is also walking distance from Park Guell and the Tramvia Blau to Tibidabo. I paid 108 Euro per night, including VAT and a continental breakfast delivered to my room. Also, my room was like an efficiency apartment - with a small furnished kitchen - and there is a market a couple of blocks away to stock up with groceries (big money saver). There was a...

Good Place for the value
from suncityhiltonhead
The place is a little far from the action of La Rambla and the port area, however it's only 2 blocks from the metro and a very fast trip into the heart of the city. The hotel was very clean and the staff was beyond helpful. They gave us directions to the parks and Restaurants in the area. And there was always a Good Morning or Evening from them. The in suite breakfast was delivered on time and was more food than we could eat. For the price it's a great deal just don't expect the Holiday Inn. The only thing about Spain is the smoking, it's...

Not an ideal family venue
from Logstownlady
We are a family of four. Our "apartment" was a long, narrow room (&bathroom)with a queensize bed at one end ,a kitchen area (which we did not need), two single beds and a seating area at the window end.Furnishings were spartan. Our main difficulty was that when our children (aged 6& 9 ) went to bed, they were still in the room with us and so found it difficult to settle. We had no "adult" time. We could not even go out on the balcony because the air conditioner took up most of the space. The absence of socialising areas downstairs in the (very...

A Great Find!
from NMI
We have only fantastic comments regarding our stay at the Hotel Bertran. The room was great, sizable, comfortable, simple yet refined, with a wonderful terrace with a view of Tibidabo. Jose Carlos, the manager, was a font of helpful information and all of the other employees were friendly and helpful as well. The location is perfect for us, a mere ten minutes by subway to the center of town, yet quiet and away from the hustle-bustle of the main tourist area. The neighborhood had plenty of good restaurants, bakeries, etc. and was very...

Friendly hotel in a good location
from Steve041
This hotel looks nothing special from the front and is in a small side street, that said the rooms were well fitted out, clean and having a proper kitchen was a real plus. We first stayed in a first floor room overlooking the front but found this a bit noisy because of the traffic, they were quite happy to move us to a quieter room to the rear of the hotel without any fuss. Another big plus for this hotel is that it is near the metro station and there were plently of shops and places to eat nearby. If I was to return to Barcelona I would...

Good hotel, but a little far
from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a good hotel. The rooms are spacious. They have a kitchen and a living room. The staff was nice and helpful. It is far from the center of the city, but there is a metro station about 10 minutes from the hotel (walking). It is a hill, so it might be painful to drag heavy luggage from the metro station to the hotel. Also, if you like to be in the center of the action, don't stay in this hotel. The hotel area is residential. The metro closes at 11pm on weekdays, even though the people stay out until much later than that. Finding...

A great place to stay with kids or for a long stay!
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this "aparthotel" for 2 nights last weekend. It was great! The room was sizable, and the kitchen area included 2 burners (no oven), a fridge with freezer, utensils, flatware, and a double sink (no microwave). There was also a small living room area with a couch, chair and table with TV. The bedroom area had 2 twin beds pushed together and a nice long closet with mirrors and extra blankets. The gentleman at the front desk was so nice and helpful. Assisted us with directions many times. The only downside to this hotel was the...
