Morska Zvezda & Amphibia Hotel

We had a nice holiday here. Our first impressions were not good as the hotel is not much to look at & we arrived in the early hours so we could not see much.
The rooms were basic, but clean and we had a huge balcony, which we shared with the rooms on either side of us. It was good for us as we were a party of six and were all in adjoining rooms, but it may not be so good if you don’t like your neighbours!
Breakfasts were not too good as it was cold meats, cheese & bread, but we soon found a good place about 10 mins walk away, doing full breakfast for about £1.50,and there’s a big choice of restaurants doing similar every where in the main resort which was 15 mins walk. There is a small train running up and down every 20 mins or so, & plenty of taxis. We were close to Nessebar, which is lovely & full of bars & places to eat. The hotel has an inhouse restaurant, which is nice if you want to stay in.
The pool is very small for serious swimmers, but for a small fee, you can use other hotel pools.
Good trips and tours are plentiful & the Khans Tent night is superb. £19 for a 3 course meal, endless wine, local brandy, & an excellent floor show.
Mosquitoes are a real problem here so go prepared as we had difficulty buying repellents. We had been to golden sands 3 years ago & didn’t have this problem there so took no repellent with us.
The hotel had no entertainment but again there are plenty of places in the main resort with every kind of shows, karaoke, etc. best buys are ‘designer clothes’ trainers, leather & jewellery & CDs & DVDs which we bought and had no problem playing at home.
On the whole, all had a good time. Cost was £404 for 2 weeks b/b flying direct. We will go back again but probably to golden sands, as it was a bit less commercialised and no mossies!
