" disapointed "

After staying at the santa lucia many times we found big changes, the day time activities
were only aimed at children. And one of the staff running the activities was very arrogant.Sun beds were booked all day by people who were not on them for long .The night time entertainment was all tribute bands most not very good.So we had to go out most nights. We love the hotel and most staff but are sad to say we wont stay there again,as our complaints were only played lip service.

Advice: Yes without a doubt

" LOVED IT! "

Im 17 and by boyfriends 19 and it was our first holiday abroad together we absolutley loved it, it was one of our favourite holidays we'd been on. i am a very fussy eater but even i managed a reasonable meal a night. the entertainment was wicked we even got a full house on bingo :) beach and view was out of the world we also went on a paraglade which was fantastic. also it wasnt loud at night but it was only a 5 minute walk to magaluf strip which was mad. Deffo reccomend BCM nightclub its amazing!!

Advice: its a perfect holiday

Activities: katmandu and BCM

" Excellent "

My family have visited the Magalluf/Palma Nova region for 25 years, sometimes twice a year. Since our sons stopped holidaying with us 14 years ago we have stayed at the Santa Lucia every year - over 14 times now.
It isn't perfect - what is - but it is consistent. I note some reviews here are very negative and those people have a problem.
Food is good and there is always something to satisfy. Clean, staff faces stay the same each year which is a good sign. Overall possibly not quite as good in general since being refurbished a couple of years ago - a few new staff came then and can be a bit glum.
Having said that, good enough to not chance anywhere else. Not the cheapest, but the views are stunning.
Paul Broadbent

Advice: Nice and quiet out of main season. We always go in June or October.

Activities: Just walking about.

Good for: Beach

" Good "

This was our second stay in the Santa lucia hotel. As we arrived we booked 2 rooms which were seperated from each other but they were on the same floor so it was okay. One side of the hotel gets the sun but the other doesnt. If your prepared to get up at 6 in the morning to get a sunbed then this is the hotel for you. Although getting up at 6-7 your not 100% sure you will get one. Failing sunbeds the beach is right outside so we stayed a few days on the beach. The rooms are nice but are getting slightly old. The beds are not the best to sleep on and the pillows were hard and flat. The hotel its self its lovely and one of the best things is the food. Although they repeat the food on a weekly basis theres something for everyone. As far as spanish english breakfasts go, this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in for food. The hotel lifts could do with a service with one person getting stuck but its closing down for a refurb or something in october 2009.
although there are a few downsides. We enjoyed our stay in the Santa lucia the same as our other holiday two years ago. In the peak times e.g aug/july its great for familys with children.

Advice: The people are friendly and its a lovely place to walk around not being noisey at night.

Activities: Main thing: The views of the hotel

" Perfect Location!! "

Me and my boyfriend visited the hotel santa lucia hotel for 7 days. We are both 20 years old and the first thing we noticed was the hotel was full of old people, but they were all so friendly. The hotel rooms are okay, beds a little hard and the safe costs a fortune to use and we had to pay 17 euros for the fridge for a week. The hotel food was abit boring, we ate out a few times for a change. The hotel entertainment was good, and we loved the bingo and unlucky 13. The hotel is in the perfect location, shops, bars, restraunts and 2 beaches are just outside the door. We walked to the mini golf which was about 15 minutes away and its great there, also the upside down house was a good trip too. I recommend the location 100% just not so sure on the hotel, its good just not good enough.

Advice: Loved palma nova will defintely go back

Activities: Son matias restraunt, and the one next door to it were great and friendly staff.

" 40TH BIRTHDAY FOR SIX FRIENDS "

Just arrived back form a long weekend at the hotel Santa Lucia with five girlfriends. Impressed with the hotel, especially the fact that it is carpeted. Food pretty good, full English breakfast (although waitresses a little bit grumpy one morning).Brilliant location right on the beach. We got two rooms next to each other which where interconnecting, couldnt have been any better. Fridge available to hire, hairdryer in room okay but not that good. Hotel very quiet on a nighttime so sleep is not problem. Happy hour prices very good. Hotel mainly seems to cater for the slightly older generation, but this wasnt a problem for us. Had a great time and would love to go back again with my hubby.

Advice: Palma Nova is very nice, some lovely restaurants, fabulous beach, Magalluf great for younger ones.

" Satisfied "

This was our third time at this hotel and have always found it clean and the staff are always friendly. Its location right on the beach is ideal and you can walk along the promenade to many bars and restuarants.
The food in the hotel restuarant was ok full english always available at breakfirst but some of the evening meals just didnt go together and sometimes bland, plenty of salad available though.I think the bar prices are a bit steep three euro's for a pint of their own brand of lager, went across the road immediately opposite the entrance of the hotel owners very friendly and always remembered what I drank when I went in didnt need to ask.Dont like sitting around the pool so cant comment on the sunbed saga.
Another good thing about this hotel is that it is fully carpeted so it is very quiet in the rooms below and corridors.
The only down side I had was the person in the next room put the tv on at six in the morning while getting ready to go down to breakfirst so loud it woke me up even though they were not watching it very annoying, complained to the rep about it but nothing was done. Not very good Thomson.

Advice: Very clean and bars are very friendly.

Activities: Golf Fantasia lovelly gardens and wild life ,well worth a visit.

" Stayed There Again "

Santa Lucia, is about as close to the beach and shops as you can get, and a good location for visiting many of the places in Palma Nova and on the Island. It affords the best views of Palma Nova from most bedrooms. Try and get on 6th Floor and ask to overlook bay towards Magaluff, and be as far away from the road.
Dining facilities are first class, though occasionally choice of food a bit limited and very occasionally not as warm as could be.
Beds could do with updating and the rooms a little bit of painting, but overall acceptable.
Every where is cleaned and polished every day, one of the cleanest hotels I'vce stayed in.
Wasn't too keen on having to pay for a fridge and a safe (safe was quite expensive).
Staff are very good, if you ask for something (within reason) you will get it.
Evening entertainment a bit limited and virtually the same for the first hour night after night, but then a different and very good act follows (the ball room dancing and bingo)every night.(Lord of the Rings Dance Group / Male and Female vocalists etc).
Sounds as if I was unhappy there and had a few negatives, but my wife and I keep going back there, so something must be right.

Advice: Go and stay there, good all round, reasonably priced hotel, with brilliant views.

" Amazing Holiday!! "

I have just got back from Santa Lucia hotel and had a fantastic time. The hotel is in a great location - right by the beach! It is very clean with nice rooms complete with breathtaking views, and the restaurant is good too.
I really enjoyed the entertainment - sam and sonia, especially. They are amazing at what they do and they made me feel very welcome and were extremely friendly - they chatted to me the whole week! The whole night was very enjoyable aimed at a vast age range with dancing and activities for both the kids and the adults! The bingo and quizzes were fun and the main shows were brilliant.
Outside of the hotel there are plenty of things to do, whether you're just fancying a stroll on the beach, heading to the pubs for a drink or taking the little ones for a play in the park. There are plenty of family day trips availible, too.
The nightlife is incredible, with central Majorca just a ten minute walk away or Palma a short taxi drive away.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend the hotel to anyone whose looking for a great holiday. There are plenty of things to do for people of all ages, and the hotel has a great vibe with it's friendly staff.

Advice: Plenty of things to do for anyone of any age.

Activities: Nightlife.

" Christmas 2008 "

This was our 3rd Christmas and first New year, spent at the Santa Lucia. A lovely hotel in a superb location, especially if you have a room overlooking the swimming pool.
Sonia and Sam the entertainment management worked hard over the Christmas and there was an improvemnent on keeping the kids entertained with a wii toy, a visit from Santa with some great gifts for the kids. Not so much the second week the wii toy didn't come out at all, but the kids kept themselves busy in a small indoor pool, (and for the second year running the steam room was not working)
The food although a great choice was only ever luke warm and quite often at breakfast the fried eggs were cold.
We are a family of 5 in our 70s 40s and a 13 year old, not a lot open at Christmas but golf always a great favourite and kat-man-do always has things going on, even on Christmas day. Most of the gift shops also open.
Weather was warm and dry,and we were lucky enough to have 4 dolphins swim by on our last day.

Advice: very quite out of season, but a trip into Palma and Christmas will be buzzing

Activities: not a lot open in December but Fantasia golf and Kat-man-do a must.

" Ok, but no good for couples "

Just come back from a week in December, full of Elderly, no family or couples felt welcome.
Rush for the food at night although there was so much of it.Food ok.
Indoor pool tiny, and outdoor pool.
Roms very clean.
Overall 5/10.
Please note we booked with Thompson and on board the flight they have there own exchange rate of 148 Euro to the pound as of the Bank of England the staff said.
More like there own made up rate to make more money out of you as when my partner asked to change some English Money to Euros they said no way.And the Bank of England rate ia 101 so not sure where there rate comes from so don't get ripped off on board.

Advice: It's ok, expensive as the Euro really bad
