HOTEL ABSOLUTELY LOVELY. BIT APPREHENSIVE WHEN WE READ REVIEWS IN HOLIDAY TRUTHS BUT TO BE HONEST WE COULDN'T FAULT IT. I THINK IF THERE HAD OF BEEN A BIT MORE ENTERTAINMENT AROUND THE POOL FOR EVERYONE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER I.E. QUIZZES ETC., OVERALL FOOD WAS VERY GOOD WHEN WE READ SOME REVIEWS WE DECIDED THAT WE MAY HAVE EAT OUT BUT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE, WE ATE IN EVERY NIGHT. HOTEL WAS SPOTLESS ALTHOUGH ROOM WAS QUITE BIJOU BUT WE ONLY WASHED AND SLEPT IN IT. SUNBEDS HAD THE USUAL PROBLEMS, NOT ENOUGH OR PEOPLE RESERVING WITH TOWELS AND THEN GOING AWAY FOR THE DAY TO THE BEACH OR ONLY SPENDING 1-2 HOURS BUT RESERVING THE BEDS ALL DAY, A REALLY INCONSIDERATE THING WAS PARENTS RESERVING SUNBEDS AND UMBRELLAS FOR THEIR TEENAGERS WHO DID NOT USUALLY APPEAR UNTIL ABOUT 2PM THEN LEFT AGAIN ONE HOUR LATER. THE DISABLED FACILITIES WERE EXCELLENT AND WE AS A GROUP (7) WITH AN AGE RANGE OF 13 -70YRS WOULD MOST DEFINATELY RETURN.

My partner and I stayed here for 1 week in September. All staff friendly. Hotel very clean. Room a good size for 2, but if a third was on the extra 'camp bed' it would be cramped. We were on the side of the hotel which only gets sun in the evening, which was a relief as the balcony was a cool spot during the day. The hotel is so close to the beach, I can't really understand why anyone would want to stay round the pool, and so I can't comment on the 'sunbed' issue!
Breakfast was very good, dinner less so. Not beacuse of a lack of choice, but it wasn't very adventurous - and not very Spanish!
Would consider returning, but on a B&B basis.

Me (23) and my boyfriend (22) have just come back from a weeks stay at the santa lucia. The hotel is beautiful, nice and clean. The absaloute perfect location. We didnt stay for the hotel entertainment so cant comment on that but the bars around the hotel are really good.In Palma Nova banana joes nd cheeks were really good but if you want a really good night out magaluf is the place to be. With us being young we were a bit worried about all the reviews saying the hotel is full of oldies, the majority of the people there were old but we just seen it as we always got a good night sleep after a long night, no loud partys. The food in the hotel was fine but couldnt have it every day was a bit of the same stuff and plain. Restaurants outside hotel were lovely dianas bar was nice for breakfasts and there was a grill restaurant right next door which was amazing (f+c's i think it was called) biggest steaks i have ever seen in my life! The lifts are really slow so we used the stairs alot, dont think i could of if were on top floor, but thats not a complaint. We couldnt always get a sunbed around the pool but there was another level up to it with more on so would go up there. Beaches are beautiful. We went to marineland which was great and the house of katmandu which was really good too. We really loved our stay there and would definately go again. For any young couples worrying about going dont because you'll love it.

HAVING JUST RETURNED FROM THE SANTA LUCIA HOTEL I MUST SAY I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THE ENTERTAINMENT TEAM SAM AND SONIA (SONIA MAINLY).AS FAR AS CHILDRENS DISCO THAT LASTED FOR ABOUT 4 OF THE SAME SONGS EVERY NIGHT THEN THEY PUT WII CONSOLE ON IM AFFRAID MY CHILDREN DIDNT GO WAY TO PLAY ON THE WII. AFTER NEEDING TO COMPLAIN TO ONE OF THE ENTERTAINERS ONE NIGHT HE THEN WENT BACK TO TELL SONIA WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND TO MY SURPRISE SONIAS REPLY WAS SO. NOT VERY GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS THIS WAS BECAUSE SHE WAS TOO BUSY FLIRTING WITH THIS YOUGE WANABEE SINGER TO BE BOTHERED. IN ALL OF MY 7 DAYS I ONLY SAW SAM N SONIA ONCE DURING THE DAY THEY NEVER CAME ROUND THE POOL TO LET THE CHILDREN KNOW THERE WAS THINGS GOING ON. I THINK THIS HOTEL CATERS FOR ADULTS MORE AND SHOULD CHANGE TO ADULT ONLY.APART FROM THAT AND NOT GETTING A SUNBED ALL WEEK BECAUSE I DONT QUEUE AT 7AM IN THE MORNING THE HOTEL IS VERY NICE FOR COUPLES NOT FAMILIES.

Have just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel .Having stayed at a few hotels down the East coast of the island this has been the best hotel for Location and sea views.
stayed on the 7th floor out of 8 floors ,the stairs were a killer but it was worth it for the view
went on the beach at the son matius side as its not so crowded and the beach is kept spotless by the beach attendand who looks after the first block of sun beds as you enter from the hotel side.
DONT bother to try and get a sunbed by the pool if you like to stay in bed past 8 am
as the rush for them starts at 7 15 . same people ,same spot, same time every day
Hotel staff ok..Food not to bad ..did get a bit fed up with the same food by the end of week 2 so we ate out at The happy chinese just next door ..Exellent food
Rooms ok ,Could do with a bit of brightning up
all kept very clean
if you like to buy a paper to read go to the spar opposite and dont buy them in reception they charge you more ...They are expensive as it is,
The only down fall is ...if you like the sun in your balcony pray that you are put on the entrance side facing son matius beach.the other side of the hotel stays in the shade all day ..ok for those who like it ,but still a good sea view

me and my partner stayed at the santa lucia hotel and was very impressed,it is only a 3 star hotel but it could pass as a 4 star no problem, the service is excellent, the staff r very friendly and the food is spot on.the location is superb its got two massive beaches either side and bars and restruants all over, the one downside was the pool as it is not very big but who needs it when you got the ocean.I would recommend it too anyone of all ages, palma nova can be lively as you want, you can chill in the bars of palma nova or a 10 min walk is magaluf

MORE LIKE A PRISON
we had 2 rooms, 3 in each. The rooms were far too small to put 3 people in. The 3rd bed was some sort of contraption that looked as if it was thrown together.
The cleaners were abismal! Bathroom and mirrors were not cleaned the whole week that we were there. It seemed that all they did was make the beds.
The restaurant felt as though you was in an enclosed yellow prison. The windows were covered in an awful thick yellow netting, we tried to pull to one side, but they were all stitched together.
The food was worse than school dinners. My friend being pregnant ended up in hospital due to food poisoning, she almost lost her baby due to this.
The restaurant staff were rude and arrogant, my pregnant friend took some water in a small bottle so that she could take her vitamins, but the hotel manager shouted at her and said that she could not bring in water, even though we explained that the water was for her to take her tablets.
The size of the pool was a joke for the amount of people staying at the hotel. You could never get a sun bed as people took no notice that you should not put your towels on the beds to save them , but arrogant people still did.
The sea was smelly and dirty, party being due to the reed bed that was under the water. There was also a lot of rubbish floating around.
We would not stay in this hotel again, even if it was free, the whole experience was awful.
DON'T GO THERE!

Could not fault hotel for cleaniness and location. The rooms are clean and the staff are pleasant. However one major disappointment is the food. Two words would describe it ´School Dinners´. The breakfast is fine and the salads in the evening are good, but the school canteen would serve better main courses. Evening meals and the pool areas remind me of the programme ´Benidorm´ on TV. If they want a second series they should come here!
The pool area is way too small for a hotel this size and the scores of sunbeds that are kept from early morning to evening is unreal without people actually using them. Who said this was a German trait??
Would I stay here again? No would be the answer. If you want my advice take a look at the Los Mirlos which is just across the road or even better still, save your money and stay in the Bristol Hotel in Sorrento!!

Having been to this hotel 4 times previously we were really looking forward to this holiday. What a disappointment! The pools were cleaned once in the 11 days we were there. The food has gone downhill with no children's food bar. My 4 year old son found a tablet on the floor of the room. Luckily he gave it to me. When I showed it to the manager, he took it and said 'I'll make sure the cleaners are more thorough' ! Not good enough in my opinion. If you want a sunbed, be sure to join the queue at 7.15am or you won't get one after the doors open at 8am. Not a good holiday.

lovely position on the beach , thank goodness , because the ridiculous hotel towel queue from about 0645 hrs is almost beyond belief. food was generally pretty good for buffet style .due to weak pound ,prices at bar seem steep , some outside bars are better value but you can see they are struggling with each other to make any money. safe deposit box cost about £36 for 10 nights ( pretty steep ) beach is nice and clean ,especially at the playa terranova end.
the room we had on 4th floor was small ( shared with 1x 8yr old) with barely enough room to get out of bed at the side , but balcony views are very good and are cleverly designed for privacy.
staff were consistently friendly / helpful , cleaners do a really good job.
showers (in bath type ) were always hot with good pressure.
hotel pool area is best avoided if you have any claustraphobic tendencies , but as I say the beach saves the day. we would consider returning if bigger family rooms are available. had a very relaxing holiday overall.

Just returned from the Santa Lucia......... what can I say... its like the famous "curates egg" good in parts.. The Santa Lucia is a typical 3 star Spanish resort hotel... that thinks its a 4 star and accordingly charges 4 star prices in the snack bar and bar area.. Reception staff are extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable about the resort and Mallorca in general... Rooms are comfortable.. spotlessly clean if a little on the small side... balconies are just big enough for a small table and 2 chairs... but have beautiful views.. The food perfect on some days and disappointing on others...some of the selections could be hotter... but there is a microwave thoughtfully provided.. plenty of choice but hardly anything traditionally Spanish... The "warm" orange juice at breakfast is definately an acquired taste.. Waiting staff are pleasant and helpful... all speak English..
The Animation team Sam and Sonia are very good at their job and are a credit to the Hotel... Every night 10.00pm good cabaret show... and a little later another entertainer in the Cocktail bar.. but be warned.. this is a Smokers bar...
The Hotel appears to cater for older clients...and is consequently quiet at night... no rowdyness... lots if lively bars opposite and within walking distance if you want things a little livelier... it was nice to see some less physically able guests really enjoying the hotel entertainment and games around the Pool etc..
The Thomson reps who visited the Hotel daily were pleasant and helpful but they must realise that their job is more that just "Welcome meetings" and Excursion Sales... keeping their clients happy should be a major priority....
My final comment.. is one that has been mentioned by others on this site... The early morning queues to reserve sunbeds... then they are often unused for the best part of the day... despite the signs saying that reserving the sunbeds is not allowed the recep
tion and pool staff allow this practice to continue... It created much bad feeling... and is one of the reasons why I would think twice before I returned to the Santa Lucia

Just returned from a week at Santa Lucia, there was 19 of us ranging from 18mths to 60ish, including 4 teenagers and 3 toddlers. Had an excellent holiday, hotel spotlessly clean, food really good (especially being 19 of us, would be hard to eat out), always got several sunbeds easily, plenty to go round. Couldn't fault this hotel. All had a great time and would definitely go back. Plenty of bars and entertainment outside the hotel in Palma Nova and Magaluf if your a party person, which was good for the teenagers.
