Me and my 13 year old daughter stayed in hotel santa lucia. we arrived and when we got there it was very tidy and clean and the staff gave us a warm welcome and gave us are room key. the first impression of are room was WOW. it was amazing the views were lovely we just couldnt ask for a better room. Because its a hotel where all the english go my daughter managed to make loads of friends and when we arrived home all she talked about was how she missed her friends and thought it was the best holiday ever. the evening entertainment was good and both mee and my daughter enjoyed it there was bingo everynight with magic shows or dancing and singing and a elvis night. Overall we both thought it was great and hope to go next year.

Upon arrival at the hotel all looked great bright sunshine nice beach just out the door. got our room keys (609) went up with our cases opened the door to be greeted with the most foul stench of cigarettes i have ever come across it was so bad i had to come out it took your breath away. Then complained to the reception that we are not smokers and we would like to have another room just to be told that the hotel was full and there was not another room (i think they could not be bothered to do the paperwork as the hotel was no way as full as they said) all they did was get the maid to come up and spray the room with air freshener(she said the bad smell would go away in a day). That soon wore off and the smell returned the same day so we had to go and buy an air freshener and every time we went out we sprayed the room but this did not stop the smell every time we opened the door it was like an ashtray. In the hotel info pack you are told not to smoke in your room and there is smoke detectors linked to reception (these do not work).
Be very carefull of the lifts there is 3 all very small and the first one you come to is very dangerous it stops short of the bottom by about 3 inches one poor lady just that morning had gone to get into the lift and did not see the shortfall on the lift tripped and smashed here face on the other wall of the lift she has rushed to hospital and had to pay £1000 euros to have her face fixed what did the hotel do about the lift nothing i would not go into it and told anyone that was waiting for a lift the story and not to go in it.The food is another problem very bland and also if you are lucky you may find some that is slighty warm most is cold roast potatoes with melted cheese cold, meat cold, every thing cooked is cold the reason for this is the bain marie water bathes that keep the food hot were not filled with any water or switched on so the food just gets colder and colder as the night goes on YUK!!!
we ate out one night that was great some flavour at last
the house white wine is something else(VINA CEPA) priced at 8.50 euros it is very bad and i would not even cook with it but we finished the bottle just. the next day we found the same wine just over the road out side the hotel
(supermecadd dallas spar) priced at 1.95 euros as the week went by we found it all over and the cheapest was 1.34 euro a bottle, COME ON HOTEL we all know we get ripped off with hotel drinks but how much profit do you want to make from us at least give us something that tastes ok. as the week went by nothing changed till wedensday when my bed was made up with wet sheets!! and as i had got in bed for a little sleep it did not fell very good i can tell you, this was reported to reception and they changed the sheets.
we were on a half board stay first and then a week cruise next with thomson,s and i can tell you going on the thomsons destiny and eating there food is a joy.
We talked to other people staying in the hotel and some had stayed 5 or more times there but had noticed how bad the food was(even the thomson rep said there was alot of problems with the food and other things) the other quests we talked to said they would not be going back there and we will not be aswell..very poor, if we had done our cruise first then our stay we would have been very disappointed

We have just returned from a weeks all inclusive at the Santa Lucia it was just fantastic. I can understand the comments but as it ever occured that the staff have now lost thier tips due to the new grading. I found them courtious and efficient and very pleasant when spoken to in the proper manner. We also tipped them when we left especially on the servery the kept the food fresh and hot and well presented. I think the management are a little up themselves I think they think they are the Hilton which clearly they are not. Thanks for a wonderful holiday cannot wait to book for next year when we are going for 2 weeks. regarding the sunbeds, you can remove the towels if they have not been used for an hour, we did and nothing happend.

Stayed at the hotel after a weeks cruise which was great. We arrived at the hotel but had to wait for room to be cleaned. The room was lovely and with a spectacular view from the balcony. The only three things that were dissapointing was the noise at night from four different bands playing different music at the same time which could be heard at night. The second thing was that the staff never smiled once when we dined in the morning and evening. Thirdly if you wanted a sunbed you had to get up early to join the long line of people in the reception area. However food was great and the Thompson staff are excellent, nothing was too much trouble.

This was my 3rd my stay at this hotel was 1 of the best holidays i have ever been on. The location as very good and the staff are very kind and friendly.
1 down side is that the food can be a bit respective over 2 weeks and the fight for a snubbed in the morning is a task alone but other than that I love it there. 1 off the entertainers Sonia was a very nice person to be around and spoke very good English. The games during the day were very good but my dad did get a bit competitive some times :L. The night entertainment was the nearly the same as the year be for but we still enjoyed watching and having a fun night.
there was a lot to do outside the hotel as well such as many shop as different types and lots of bars with football and big brother finals showing on the telly in English also some arcades and other fun activities to do around the hotel, there is also 1 last thing to do around the hotel is going the beach it is lovely and some were to go if you don’t get a sun bed.
rooms are quite and small but we dint spend that much time in there as we stayed up until past 12 nearly every night and got up at 7 every day so it didn’t matter to us about the size.
It is not prefect - what is - however it is a very good family hotel and I would recommend this hotel for all ages.

Just got back from Santa Lucia Hotel... first trip abroad as a single parent with two teenagers, wouldnt go back again, The pool was very small and people were getting up at 7.30am in their pjs ready to que up and lay towels on sunbeds ( only realised this on departure day as we were up early) very little to do in the evenings outside the hotel. entertainment in the hotel wasnt suitable for a mixed age group and again people were reserving their seats as early as 8.30 pm when entertainment started at 10pm.The food was ok and rooms very basic, hotel states all rooms have see view...if you were 8ft tall and could see through trees then i supose they were right!!Lots of small jellyfish in the sea and they gave a nasty sting.

Hotel Sant Lucia, Palma Nova? Don't go!

We've just had a "Stay & Cruise" The cruise was excellent, but I'm afraid our stay at the Santa Lucia wasn't!
The bar staff were as miserable as sin. Despite being All-Inclusive, you couldn't sit outside or in the lounge after midnight, the only place available was the cocktail bar, which was so small you had to go outside to change your mind, and usually had an "act" on with an electric guitar or somesuch playing, so there was no way on earth that you could sit and talk.
On top of all of that, depite being all-inclusive, if you had a drink in the cocktail bar after midnight, you had to pay for it!
The food was very bland, and 'samey', hardly any variety.
You were herded like sheep inside the locked door until bang on 8 a.m., before you could get out around the pool!
The wooden decking above the swimming pool, used for sunbathing, was a total disgrace. The wood was so dried out with being baked in the sun, that it was curling up at the ends, all the screws having pulled out. So, if you were walking along it, and someone going the other way trod on one in front of you, the end came up and tripped you over! Very dangerous.
Completely undewhelmed by this place. The only saving grace is its location, straight on a beautiful beach!

The benefit of this hotel is the location, otherwise it is a very basic service.I would not consider it good value for money. Very poor 3 star rating. Rooms very tired, food although plenty and various selections, repetative and over cooked or tinned veg. Nice salads. Very busy meal times lots of queuing and shortage of prepared tables in evening.Small but lovely balcony overlooking sea ( if lucky).Sunbeds queue a joke for swimming pool and not what I spend my money to do. Good value shop in hotel to purchase water or hire lilos and umbrellas to take to beach which is so close.Raw sewage evident at times in sea near beach, need for caution.
Palma Nova nice and easy to access local transport to Palma, Port Soller etc. much cheaper than Thompson in house trips.
I would return to Palma Nova but not to the Santa Lucia especially if the rumour of going all inclusive is correct. While we were there a lot of complaints made about restrictions on quailty drinks etc. not being permitted under 'All inclusive' tag We stayed HB.Much better hotels in the area not anymore expensive.

Going Downhill Fast

Have stayed many times over last 12 year or so, they have just started All Inclusive, my wife and I were Half Board and paid easily the best part of £2000 for 10 day stop.
There was the usual long queue for sunbeds, the mad rush begins at 0800 when staff open the Pool area doors,(some guests were queing at 0700) by 0930 all sun beds had been occupied,The food at eveining dinner has declined in both quality & quantity and also considering 99.9% of guests are British ,choice was a little peculiar to say the least.( although they do still serve up a very good breakfast on a morning ). Its the same Chef so we can only presume his budget has been cut back along with everything else.
The cost of using the room safe is extortianate, the staff dont look happy, the Managers wander around with a melancholy look about them, the bar staff are less enthusiastic to serve you, the entertainment is average, but it always has been, the drink is expensive, even the bottled water in the dining room is half size to last year, but the price isn't!!. The plus side has always been its location and easy access, but i am not sure if the hotel can ride on the back of this for much longer.

good location... bland food....below average experience

I went to this hotel in april, so weather wasnt great and having kids, there really wasnt much to do at hotel. the location was great tho, and being ontop of beach was great for sunny days as trying to get a bed by the pool was a near impossibilty.
Food was bland, and repetative. Hotel staff would not allow my 9 year old to dine by himself, so had to go without meals for nearly 2 whole days as myself and my sister were struck down with mystery sickness bug and couldnt leave bedroom. After repeated calls to reception to get some assistance (and ignored calls to thomson reps within hotel and a call to thomson reps back in the uk) my little boy was promptly sent back up the stairs when trying to explain what the situation was. overall a bad experience, which was exasperated by the illness.
Also bar staff were not particularly friendly.
Could have been improved by staff helpfulness, and a bigger variety of food, with flavour!
