Xtabi Resort

If I could give this hotel zero I would. I took my boyfriend to Jamiaca for our first ever holiday together as it has been his dream to go since he was a child, and had never been abroad before. I saved up for well over a year to be able to afford this for his 21st birthday treat and off we went!! We actually stayed in Idle Awhile for the first half of our trip, and moved to Xtabi for the second half to get a feel for the west end of Negril. BIG mistake. I wish I hadnt. You can't go wrong with Xtabi, my fifth trip will be thanksgiving this year 06. Kingsley is the best, donovan at the bar, everyone is wonderfull, including miss cherry, she will do everything from massage to babysit if you need it. stay on the cliffs, we have beaches in the states!!!!!! the resataurant in the previous thread is actually called "Just natural" and it is the best place to eat on the west end if you don't need meat. it is vegetarian, good price, great service, and thereasa is a sweetheart. if you need meat, there is a jerk... more

We just returned from a 7 day stay at Xtabi and had the best time. The management and staff are professional, friendly and very helpful - after a short while you almost feel like family. The cabins are clean, well maintained and fairly private - and they have an excellent view of the sea and the beautiful sunsets. The restaurant has great food at reasonable prices (eggs benedict with lobster, conch steak, ...) and the bar has all the local drinks (dirty banana, hummingbird, ...) which are served in a timely manner. Being Jamaicans we have very high expectations from hotels when visiting the island for vacation. My brother and I stayed at the Xtabi hotel in Negril Jamaica for 7 days and the experience was fabulous. The staff was very professional in their interactions with guests and we certainly appreciate one of the members volunteering to take us on a local tour. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food prepared in their nearby bar/restaurant overlooking the ocean from the cliffs is delicious. There is plenty of activities to do right... more

I stayed at Xtabi in mid august - low season in Jamaica. The room rates were great. The accomodations were basic but definitely more than adequate. The gardens and the grounds are beautiful and the atmosphere is charming and casual. The resort will have someone pick you up from the airport and drop you back off when you are ready - if you're ever really ready - to leave. The restaurant serves excellent food and delightful coctails. Negril is about an hour and a half from Montego Bay, so getting to Xtabi takes some time - but once you... more

My family stayed here for 6days in mid August. The cottage on the cliff top had a incredible view looking down the perfect blue sea underneath. The room is not a 6-star hotel room but comfortably goes with cozy Caribbean taste and clean. You can go down the rocky stairs directly form your balcony to the sea. It’s like a private cliff-beach. Kids also enjoyed swimming there with a bit of adventure taste. Staff and the manager are friendly and very helpful.

My Fiance and I were originally booked to stay @ The Lost Beach Resort July 16 - July 19 and then planned to move along through the West End Area to experience something different and get a look at the cliffs while moving into The Blue Cave Castle for the remainder of our stay from the 19th through the 23rd. This was our 2nd time at xtabi. Both times we had the best time. From Allen greeting you every morning and night to Kingsley's beautiful jamaican tours. Then having a great time at the bar. You have to try the dirty banana and ask for it to be extra dirty mon. Donavan will be sure to hook you up. It was a full year since we were there last and every one treated us like we never left. Our stay at Xtabi was EVERYTHING we were looking for and more! We went there for our honeymoon just wanting to relax and that is what we got. We arrived around 2am after unexpected flight delays, but security was there to let us in our cottage and even knew our name. That was a relief. We spent 5 days in a Standard Room with A/C at Xtabi and really enjoyed it. We have been to Negril many times, but this was our first experience at Xtabi. Our room was basic, but better than some other resorts we have stayed at for more money. The balcony was so nice to sit on as the sun set and we had a view of the ocean plus the gardens. Didn't notice the street noise at all and it really is only a 2 minute walk from your room to the cliffs (as another poster stated).
