If you are looking to stay somewhere that offers beautiful views, strong cocktails, with the right blend of peace and quiet just a short walk to nightlife, book your trip at Velero. I stay in many different hotels (good and bad ones) around the world for business, and for pleasure and so I feel I can give a good unbiased review. My girlfriend and I checked into the Velero Beach at the beginning of April 07. We found the room (junior suite) quite large, a bit basic, but full of character. We had a great view of the sea/beach (as did all the rooms). great hotel we had a great two weeks there the breakfast bar was great with ten choises of the menu the rooms we very clean andeven had a tv with loads of english film and sport channels of a night you had loads of different bars on the beach to choose from which were cheap defo to go back next year

We my husband and i just got back from the dominican republic.We stayed at the Velero Beach Hotel and i must say its one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at.

i am a clean freak! which makes traveling in destinations such as the dominican republic a challenge. my husband had originally rented a 4 bedroom, beachfront house. upon arrival, we discovered that the cleanliness just wasn't up to par. after a quick walk on the beach, and a few inquiries with the locals as to which hotel was "the nicest" on the beach, we stumbled upon the Velero. the only negative would be the kitchen... i wouldn't advise dining here, which is not a big deal because you are a two minute, beach walk from fabulous... more

Imagine 4 poster canopy beds on the beach, an infinity pool, well manicured grounds, friendly staff in a hotel right on the beach in the hippest town in the Dominican Republic. Now imagine its only $100 per night! You won't believe this place. We got married there and everyone of our 40 guest swears they will go back

We went to Cabarete several times, wonderful little town with plenty of activities. People are so friendly. From our walk on the beach we've seen that superb place with those exotic beds on the beachfront. On our next trip this september we decided to go with Velero Beach Resort. We reserved on internet, easy and quick. We have been totaly amazed by the service and all the accomodations. My boyfriend and I went to this hotel on vacation. We originally chosed to go to Cabarete because we were told it was such a nice small town. When we had to choose the hotel we compared prices and checked a few websites from different hotels and even though Velero was probably the most expensive one, we decided to go for it because of the pictures. Velero Beach Hotel is located at the right end of the Cabarete Beach which is divided in two sections where the left is almost entirely Kitesurfing and right side is entirely Windsurfing. It's a few hundred meters from the windsurfing centers and the rooms are nice and comfortable and breakfast is served nicely on the beachfront. The hotel has an internet room and wireless connection which is quite good as well. have stayed there several times and each time have encountered problems with front office personel who treat guests as if they were staying at a motel 6 rather than in accomodations for which one is paying 300 per night. the setting is beautiful and all well kept, however am not accustomed to one key for three guests in a two bedroom suite, no help with luggage, and a general sense the front desk personel feel they are being bothered by the guests. not a place to look for dominican hospitality
