We stayed in this hotel in July/August this year. The rooms were clean but basic food was nice but became boring after 10 days. The main fault I had was the swimming pool! You had to queue up to put towels out on a morning! The clip on you-tube is sooo rite. Its the... more

We returned on the 31st May 2011. Traveling with a 4 year old and a 10 month old we were looking for a family hotel, and this is the one to stay at! With 3 pools, one for adults and the other two for children it ment that the children weren't in the shallow end of an adult... more

brilliant!
My family and in-laws spent two weeks at this hotel. It was great. The food was brilliant, the hotel sparkling clean and the staff so helpful. The hotel was on a bit of a hill but this didnt bother us too much. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.
great place
what a great time we had made lots of friends staff great plenty to do will be back next year first class hotel staff great thompsons reps first class
Brilliant time!
We went to this hotel in september 2005 and had a lovely holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was imaculately clean for the whole week. The room was cleaned and fresh towels put out everyday. The entertainment was a bit dodgy on a couple of nights but the good nights made up for it! The comedian was excellent! We went on the western encounter trip AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! The trip bored us both to tears!!! The pirates trip was fantastic - really good fun. Overall we had a brilliant holiday and thought the hotel was brilliant - have booked again for next year!
Grrrreat
Visited in June - This was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. well worth its 4 stars - food lovely - rooms immaculate - service great. Only one little gripe - the entertainment - I think it had only started to just get going 11th June - and it was all inside - & no decent acts really - although after having read further reviews it sounds as though it got much better -outside- with proper bought-in acts. Overall - a brilliant holiday.
wow!
what can i say about the marina torranova ,stayed there two weeks in aug one of the best hotels i have stayed in . The staff are excellant, the kids were entertained all the way though the day, there is a very large small pool separate from the other so you feel safe with small children.the food was outstanding! did not expect top not service in a superfamily hotel. the only down sides it is up a quite steep hill, the rooms are not very big but i do understand there are larger family rooms available, and the battle of the sun beds !!! very entertaining!
very good hotel
We spent two weeks at this hotel, and all in all it was a very enjoyable holiday. After a rocky start in which we found that the hotel had no booking for us, we managed to get everything sorted out with the help of the Thomson reps.I did feel that the Gentleman on reception at the time was not a lot of help and we did try to avoid him, although the other members of reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned every day and and the sheets were changed twice while we were there, the room has a fridge and tea making equipment which was very good first thing in the morning! We thought the food very good and they did try to vary the menu with various gala nights: we had an Italian night and an American night while we were there, Childrens menu did not alter much, being mostly burgers, chicken nuggets and pizza and of course chips. The entertainment was one of the best we have come across in a hotel, but one gripe we have is that most nights they seemed to have the entertainment inside when there was more room outside and it was also cooler. The drinks we found to be VERY expensive in the hotel. We also found the newspapers to be more expensive in the hotel than they were outside. The swimming pools were very clean and well looked after, although one of our party did get an ear infection while were there! The sun beds are all gone by 8:30 in the morning when the doors open and the mad stampeed for the beds starts. (The queue starts about 7:00am waiting for the doors to open) The Kids reps were very good and kept the kids happy for most of the day, although you had to be quick and get your childs name down for the following days activities because although this hotel is a Family hotel the Kids club can only take about 15 children at a time, if your child did not get on the first list he/she was put on a reserve list for a place the following day.
Would not go back
Wall to wall kids in August. Good for families though. Plenty to do. Clean although if you tend to keep your room tidy, nothing gets done. A few occasions we had to complain about bathroom towel changes. Hotel food good, but a bit over cooked. Drinks within the hotel very, very expensive, so avoid. Avoid rooms 700 onwards. The hotel has an air conditioning generator on the roof which generates GOOD vibrations !!!! 24 hours a day. IT IS disturbing.!!!!! no matter what anybody says. Another little anoying thing. English papers are for sale in reception. The Hotel sells them at a price more that the recommended retail price printed on the papers. ROBBERY!!! The Hotel is at the top an a step incline. As a fit 59 year old with grand kids we all found it hard going. Would not go back because of the lack of interest from staff in changing rooms because of the 700 vibrations. Palma Nova is a great location for a kids family holiday if you have your wits about you. Be careful about hireing bicycles from the beach from cycle hire. We had a very nasty experience in relation to a 20 euro deposit on returning cycles. Keep your reciept until you receive your deposit!!! All in all grand kids enjoyed...
My Holiday
I found this hotel to be in a great location despite cardiac hill, the pools are both of good size and the hotel is one of the cleanist i have stayed in. The food was good although a bit boring after a while. The only complaints i could make are the prices for drinks in the hotel were they seem to think once you are there you will just pay them, but £2 for a pint of local lager is very steep as you could get 2 for the same price in local bars. Also the sun loungers round the pool were almost on top of each other, so you ended up feeling you were sat with the family next to you, people were queing at 0630am to get the loungers even though the hotel kept the doors locked until 0830am, this causing big ques of sad people waiting to run out and get their favourite place around the pool. This spoilt the holiday slightly although the 2 beaches nearby are both fantastic and alot easier to get sunbeds. Overall we had a great time and the kids loved it.
Thomson the dog
Read the reviews and did not expect any thing less than a good holiday! The rooms were very clean but a little small but they included a fridge. The entertainment was really good most nights, especially Fever a girl group. All the staff were really friendly, the food was great but...the only critisism was to say that it was a superfamily hotel you had to get in the queue the day before to sign up for the kids club. Kids had a great time but could of murdered Thomson the dog !!!
excellent family hotel
Spent last few days of Jun beginning of Jul at this hotel - 2 adults, 1 child. Nothing to complain about for the type of holiday/hotel it is. Staff friendly, room size adequate (double bed & single bed), big wardrobe, dressing table and room to move about. Excellent to have a fridge & kettle. Food range above average (carvary each night with veg) and children's buffet of usual stuff (nuggets, burgers, pizza, pasta) if that's what they want! Didn't join the sunbed queue though still managed to get some on a couple of days but who cares when the beaches are excellent. Bar is too small. The one night we stayed at the hotel the entertainment left a lot to be desired (though most people seemed to enjoy it) but we didnt expect anything else for this sort of holiday! Hotel on a hill (max 5 mins) but my 5 yr old managed it 2-3 times a day with no problems. Resort has plenty to do. Its a good family hotel and above average for this type of holiday.
