Loved the location, right on the beach. Great hotel very clean. The only fault is with the staff.Very rude.
Had it not been for the staff it would have been a perfect hotel. Food great, lots to choose from but the same everyday.I would return and my daughter keeps nagging to go back.

We have just returned from a 7 day all inclusive holiday (Sept 2010)and cannot fault this hotel in any way. We read some of the reviews before we went and were a bit apprehensive to say the least. We were very pleasantly surprised on arrival, our room was spotlessly clean as was all areas of the hotel. There was something for everyone in the restaurant and everything was cooked to perfection, although, some of the 'hot food' wasn't particularly hot, but was perfectly cooked, food trays were replenished on a regular basis, so, if you timed it well, it was nice and hot, a microwave oven was also provided. Our room was cleaned every day, the bathroom even had a bidet, not something you would expect to find in a 3 star hotel, it also had a hair dryer. The entertainment was of good quality but only between 10pm and 11pm, maybe height of season may have been more. All inclusive drinks stopped at 11pm but most people went back to their rooms then which meant no rowdy drunks returning in the midde of the night! The staff were very hard working, most had a friendly disposition and spoke some english. The beach at Son Bou is stunning, soft white sand and beautiful crystal clear sea, sunbeds were expensive, 18 euros for 2!, there was a nudist area if you like that sort of thing! The pool area in this hotel was beautiful, with plenty of free sundbeds, but, as it is a 'fresh water pool' we found it to be very cold, ok once you get in though! We can honestly say that, after previous holidays on the Greek Islands, this is the best holiday we have ever had and can't wait to return next year, we are a working class married couple who appreciated the quiet, stunning island of Menorca!

I left alone with my daughter 14 months for one week in August.
The service is very nice, the rooms are very clean and cleaned daily.
I had a double room with a baby bed. The room was tiny. I cannot imagine a couple with a baby in there. With cot, stroller and bag, there is barely room to move.
It's supposed to be a family hotel, but very difficult to get water for the porridge bottle (only at the bar, open from 13h-23h) then you must absolutely have a thermos with you, if not no bottle in the morning ! or at for breakfast pour water into a cup, and good luck for it not to topple over while trying to put in the bottle
Television is bad and only take the local channels.
In front of the room there was a bar which increased the volume thoroughly as from 23h! even with the windows closed it made no difference.
There is a nursery for children 6 months to 4 years which is very convenient (from 10h-13h) and free of charge, but not well-suited (no changing table).
No playground outside for small children.
A very large swimming pool, beautiful with enough chairs for everyone, but the pool is not heated ... even with the heat it did, the water was too cold for a small child. No pool for toddlers.
At the beach rental sunshade and deck chairs is a EUR 17 .- per day!
The store Yabadabadou is very small and very limited choice.
The evening entertainment is very nice, but unreasonably loud volume.
It was a vacation, but not that much more disappointment than joy .. I would not go back.

So it has been two days since i got back and i must admit i am absolutely gutted to be home. The Sol Milanos hotel was great value for money. The Hotel and the surrounding grounds were well kept and the staff-hotel staff, cleaners and entertainers work there socks off 24/7 and i admire them for it...
Yes the rooms are on the small side but if your like me and only use them for sleeping then whats the fuss?
The food was warm at all times, fresh and was offered in a wide variety. Daily sports run by the hotel kept all walks of life amused and i must admit to taking these opportunities to the limit...the only negative and there usually always is, was that the pool snack bar was closed for our duration and the you couldnt purchase the free ice cream our all inclusive offered from around the pool-it had to be collected from the restaraunt, but a minor set back. Local beer and wine was good, my family had a great time and made some newfriends on the way...a definate hit with families for sure.
Might be a threes star hotel but food borders on a 4 star rating...
- Advice: it won't dissapoint!

Myself, my partner and our three year old daughter visited the hotel last year (June 09). Our first impressions were not fantastic when we stepped off the bus, as we were kind of booted off and left standing at the entrance. There was no-one to meet us or anyone else checking in at this time. We made our way to what was sign posted as the recpetion, to find that the lights were off and no-one was around (depsite it being in the afternoon!). After a long journey here and a young child who was becomming resteless it wasnt much fun stood hanging around to check in! After a while another holiday maker appeared and directed us to another building where it appeared there was a fully running reception and holdiay makers here after all!! After checking in we were fairly disappointed to find that we were going to be staying in the second building (the one we had entered on arrival and was like a ghost town). We did find this frustrating at times as we had a little way to walk every day to the reception, pools and restaurant (the restaurant in our building didnt open until the end of our holiday). The food was okay. There was one fab restaurant outside of the hotel. If you come out of the hotel and cross over to the other side of the road, walk about 100 yrds to your left youl come to some stairs. There is a restaurant there half way up the stairs which we ate at a few times, the food was exceptional!! I cant remember its name sorry! We found the rooms fairly small, however this has never really been an issue for us as we prefer not to spend our holiday cooped up in our room! Cleanliness of the rooms was standard and maids did seem to come regualry with clean towels etc. The bathroom could have done with a bit of a paint job though! The location of the hotel was the highlight for us as we had the perfect sea and pool view from the balcony which was lovely to sit on at night and listen to the sea. We didnt opt for this type of room when we booked but we were assured that the majority of rooms were sea view because of how the hotel was positioned, always good selling point. Our daughter wasnt old enough for the kids club but did attend the Baby Rock cafe nursery on a few occassions. The entertainment on the night was a little disappointing as the majoirty of shows were held in the bar area INSIDE!!! I still dont understand this when they had a huge stage and seating area outside. Due to this we didnt stay in the hotel alot for the entertainment as by the time we had ate tea we were unable to get a seat, the times we did the heat would drive us out before the show finished. We did venture out into son bou most nites - the Copacabana bar was a real hit for us, the staff were great, fantastic with our daughter and the tribute bands on were always a good night. The only disappointment was that everywhere in son bou, including in the hotel, seemed to want everyone to go to bed at 11pm as they started shoving you out and shutting bars. This was very frustarting especially on nights were we wanted to stay out a bit later - for example celebrating our engagement! yes, my partner proposed to me at the bottom of the hotel pool! lol Overall though I would say it was a good holiday, our daughter loved the flinstones theme, however better entertainment wouldn't have gone a miss!

I have just returned from a week's holiday in Menorca. This was our first package holiday with our 5 year old son.
Room was small but very clean and tidy.
Food was good (not excellent but what you would expect for a 3* hotel). Lots of choice of salads, veggies, meat, fruit, pasta etc.
Kid's Club was great - multi lingual entertainers who made activities great fun. All free in the morning but charged for in the afternoon (not excessively though €3-€6 per child)
Mini disco, again great dancing and games.
Entertainment in the evening was average apart from the Peter Pan show which featured some of the kids from the club. Really good night.
Beach - fabulous
Pool - great although a little cold!
Staff - all friendly.
Outside of the hotel, the supermarket and the bars/restaurants were great. People were all friendly and food and drink was reasonably priced.
Got the bus into Mahon a couple of times (€2.25 each) and had a wander around the market. Went on the glass bottom boat - well worth the €10 for adult and €5 for a child.
I would (and already have) recommend this hotel to families, it was great and we would love to go back again.

I spent a week at sol milanos pinguinos in july 2009 and it was great! great location great food and beach, however the staff were not very helpfull or friendly,I get the impression the English are not a welcome sight. It was mostly spanish and Italian. only myself and daughter and two other families were English. If it wasnt for the attitude of staff it would have been a perfect hol. I would go back though just for the great location.wear footwear in the sea though rocky floor!Rebecca. West mids

We were there last year and the food was absolutely disgusting...beyond description and edibility. Take your own if you are staying there. Also take you goggles because the pool is pretty dirty (lots of floaters) and has way too much chlorine. Also make sure that you ask for a room with a view. The restaurants in the nearby area are also pretty grim, serve basic food and are way too overpriced.
- Advice: Dont go if you are looking for good class holiday and take your own food!

Just returned from a week all inclusive and after reading some comments was a little worried about going mainly because of what was written about the food. Four of us went, my mum, 3yr old daughter, husband and me. I have to say it is one of the nicest places I have been to. The hotel is right on the beach which was great which meant we had the choice of the both the sea or the pool. I have to say the pool is absolutely freezing though!!! but on a very hot day it was very nice. My daughter went to the Baby Rock Club which was free 10am-1pm, she loved it. The staff were brilliant and it was all safe and secure, they will take young babies and have cots to put them down for a nap. They took our mobile numbers to get in contact should they have needed to. The same staff did the mini disco in the evening 8:45-9:15pm on the stage outside which my daughter couldn't wait to go to every night. The food was great, we had no problems with it being cold etc. If you don't mind eating early, go at 6:30pm when all the hot fresh food is brought out. We ate around 8-8.30pm, even later one night and again it was all hot, the pizza's go a little hard and sometimes the chips cold but nothing really to complain about. Lots of choice for everyone (not sure about vegetarian), fish fingers, meatballs, chicken nuggets for the kids. The breakfasts were great too, although their Jam wasn't nice and they didn't have weetabix so we went the supermarket (over the road) and got little individual pots of jam (and stored in the mini fridge in the room) and a box of weetabix!! The lunch buffet was just as nice, hot and cold food choices. In all inclusive you could get drinks by the pool bar but not food not even ice-cream which was a bit of a pain, so although you weren't suppost to take food out of the restaurant, I popped up and got myself a plate of chips and made a Jam butty for my daughter and sneaked it out in my bag and a portion of chips which she ate by the pool and went up again later for the ice-cream! Hotel was very clean, the rooms were in need of a little updating, but were clean so that didn't bother me, they were on the small side, but again we were a family of 3 so it was fine for us but could imagine 2 kids could be a squeeze but then how long do you spend in the room? The entertainment was good, a dodgy juggler one night but on the whole it was good. On the first night the air con wasn't working, they came out and it was fixed within 10mins and another day we had quite a few ants in our room, which was my fault for leaving a fruit juice drink in my travel bag that leaked out, again the problem was dealt with straight away. All the staff were great, no rudeness and always willing to help, rooms were cleaned great and we left our towels & bedding on the floor when we wanted them changing. The location was good, a bus stop outside which went to Mahon bus station there you could catch a bus elsewhere or walk around Mahon. Saturday is market day which was nice and we had a boat trip around the harbour. There are bars, restaurants & shops opposite the hotel, we wanted a cocktail on a couple of nights which wasn't included in the all inclusive so rather than pay in the hotel we had a walk out to the Hawaiian bar & a game of pool, the staff were really friendly. Also went to the show bar which had tribute bands on most nights. A fantastic holiday, would really recommend it and can't wait to go back again.
