Sol Milanos Pinguinos Hotel

Read some dodgy reviews before we set off, but shouldn’t have worried as we had a great time. Yes the rooms are small, the pool is freezing and Spain is an expensive holiday these days but that s the only minus points.
The staff are superb, the hotel is immaculate, the food is great with a massive choice, the Spanish kids club reps are the best I have seen. The Son Bou resort is not too busy yet not too quiet. Just right if you have 2 kids in tow.
Take a day trip to Mahon which is great. Kids loved the Tiger inflatables, but watched out we saw banged heads and blood more than once - all this and Fred and Dino. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed staying her so much, I would definitely go again. There is loads for children to do and there are regular visits from Fred and Dino!
It is situated on the beautiful beach of Son Bou which id a big plus. All the staff are brilliant and there are some excellent shows in the evening. I really recommend this to anybody with children who are up for a laugh. The resort is lovely. Not too quiet but not too lively. If you are looking for a good night I would highly recommend Club Copacabana. It is situated right near the hotel. Most of the guests are either British or Italian.
The food is lovely and if you are half board you may choose which two meals you would like so you don’t have to eat in every night! Overall it has something for everyone and is a brilliant place to stay!

We've just returned from our first stay in the Milanos Pinguinos and we all really enjoyed it. Our children are 2 and 3 and we booked hoping they would go in the kids club and we could have some time to relax but unfortunately they didn't want to go in.
They wanted to stay by the pool. The daily visits from Fred and Dino were a real hit and all the kids loved to see them. The entertainment team work really hard to get everyone involved in the activities and there was always lots to choose from. The rooms are small but we hardly spent any time in them so it didn't matter. The food was great, plenty to choose from.
I was worried before we went as some reviews I'd seen on other sites weren't very good, but I think you need 2 weeks there to really get into the swing of things. If you and your children don't like to join in with things the beach is gorgeous so you can escape there. We would definitely go back again and I can't wait to go there with the kids when they are older as the age 5+ club is fantastic. The kids even appear in some of the evening shows. They all seemed to be having a great time. There's even swimming lessons for the kids.
The only thing against it is the pool is cold if the sun hasn't been out. We had quite a few days of bad weather and the little ones were shivering in the water. But as soon as the sun came out it was fine. I think any other place that hasn't got a theme will seem boring now!

The hotels Milanos and Pinguinos are situated right on the Son Bou beach, which is one of the best on Menorca.
There was a mixture of Italians and British staying at the hotel when we were there and both nationalities really got on well without any problems.
The entertainment staff at the hotel work really hard and we had a great holiday and plan to visit the hotel again next year.

This was our first time at the Sol Milanos Pinguinos Hotel and it is definitely recommended. It is very kid orientated, which I hadn’t realised (not having kids) but off-season it isn’t too overwhelming. It has a whole Flintstones theme to it, which is quite amusing!
The food is very good but is the same every day (massive selection though). The pizza is home made and superb! No free drinks at dinner, which is normal. Rooms were very small but immaculate; top Air con units made them very cool. Half the rooms have a brilliant view, half really don’t. Free safety deposit and fridge (unusual again).
Pool was great, not much room for loungers and very limited amount. Beach is 10 seconds away and is superb. Restaurants outside the hotel are poor to say the least! Stay indoors; maybe venture to one of the two Chinese restaurants, as they are good! No curry house I’m afraid! Whatever you do, do not get any garlic bread from the restaurant opposite the hotel entrance! It was fried bread with garlic shavings!! Was a late night hunger attack well and truly unfulfilled!
Rooms also had a TV but don’t get too excited as its all foreign, except SKY news and CNN, if only they could do SKY one or something! The Sol Milanos Pinguinos Hotel is altogether a very good place and resort.
