Just came back from our first visit to Menorca. Lovely island-but the town of Son Bou very small. A few restaurants and a handful of shops. Get round it in about 10 mins max. Beautiful beach with banana boats and boats to hire.
My two children aged 9 and 5 enjoyed the holiday but although the hotel does run a club every morning the staff are mainly Spanish and the hotel has a majority of Spanish guests. They were in the minority and struggled to follow some of the activities. Likewise evening entertainment was mostly in Spanish. They had the children join in a Peter Pan show but again this was mostly in Spanish.
The food was fine in the hotel - you have the choice to eat in either restaurant of the two hotels. Very clean hotel with friendly staff.
Overall we enjoyed the hotel but my kids expected the same as the Flintstones hotel in Palma Nova Majorca. Its a long way from this on entertainment.
Possibly return on a cheap deal.

We are a young 53 yr.old couple escaping from kids. Our third Menorca visit - but the resort was new to us.
No bad news here then - enjoyed every minute and would love to fly back right now.
As stated so many times - the hotel was spotless throughout, and the staff friendly, polite and efficient. This applied equally to shops and restaurants, bus and coach drivers and all we came into contact with - we Brits could learn a thing or two about service!
The Flintstone theme is certainly not everywhere - primarily in the P.building I guess.
Our room was totally conventional with those same pool and sea views. Great for the two of us, though I suspect a little tight for 3 or 4.
Long restaurant hours were extremely convenient for us and the food plentiful and of good quality. They catered well for Brits, Spanish, Germans and Italians so the choice was terrific apart from the sweet menu which we found a little tedious after two weeks. We ate out a couple of times: 'Hong Kong' Chinese 3-course with wine 40 euros for the two of us and a Paella meal again 3-course with wine 50euros.
We used the nudist beach most days and that was one of the reasons we chose that resort - but don't panic - it's just a normal beach of young and old, male and female, singles, couples and families of various nationalities and the same as any other beach with one less garment visible. You have to make a determined effort to walk there (and many do for a laugh!) - But also easily avoided if you can't cope.
We too had a few days spoiled by a warm wind blowing off sea onto beach from the Sahara apparently. Occasionally enough to shift towels and parasols and be unpleasant but not enough to stop us going again. We bought our own parasol (10e) rather than pay 6e each for sunbed and 5e for parasol every day.
Also, as a non-swimmer, the sea was ideal for me - being crystal clear water and flat sand for a fair distance out, I was totally confident to stroll out there!
We did not experience a problem with cold water during our 14 days of 12-hour sun and around 30degrees! (Max 35c.)
I had read somewhere that the only tobacconists are in Mao. - Not so! There is a tobacco specialist near the Medical Centre. ('appropriate' I hear you say)
So we say don't hesitate, book it now and we'll certainly return there as soon as possible!

I go here every year, and it gets better every year.
With the amount of activities and local attractions this place is fantastic, the reps are amazing (especially fra) the food is really nice the rooms and the whole hotel are immaculate. Everything is well organised and i am looking forward to retuning in july this year.
The beach is one of the best i have seen.
There is a lot to do at night with a club across the road and the entertainment great too.
The activities such as football are very good too, and the swimming pool is very clean.
There is no beating this place...you should definitely go on your holiday here.

Fantastic holiday. The hotel was great. Close to airport-not noisy, but only 15 minutes in the bus. The bus was a mini-bus too, rather than a coach which was much nicer.
The hotel had a Flintstones theme-my 7 year old and 2 year old loved it. The kids club was free in the morning, but you paid in the afternoon (when they did things such as decorated a t shirt to bring home).
There was also a 'baby' club for the upto fours which was next to the restaurant and open from 10 until 2 during the day.
There are two hotels, and a restaurant in each (you could go to wither)-the hotel we were in had the Flintstones themed restaurant which the kids loved, and free play stations which were a huge incentive for my 7 year old to eat his tea-and for him to meet some chums.
The nightly entertainment was very good, and free. They included the children from the kids club-which again my little fella loved.
The hotel is right on the beach, it was fantastic.
The resort is small, perfect for families. No big groups of lads or girls, quiet and friendly.
Already looking to book for next year.

Have just returned from the Sol Milanos Pinguinos Hotel. What a great hotel, good location, only seconds from the beach.
The food was good with 2 restaurants to choose from. This hotel is a Flintstone hotel, but it is not overwhelming. Rooms are small, but quite adequate; we had a family of 3, could be a bit crowded with four.
Safes are in the room, but they cost 2 euros a day, a fridge is in the room that is free. Staff friendly, clean and tidy, hotel was spotlessly clean, maid’s cleaned the room everyday, who were courteous and polite.
If you have not been to Menorca before, I highly recommend a visit; it is also a good idea to hire a car so you can really explore this beautiful island. All in all, I would return to this island for another holiday there.

WOW! Fantastic! The kids cried when they had to return home, my 8 years old was stood on the balcony so upset!
This hotel is for families, it is a Flintstone theme based hotel with regular visits from Dino and Fred. There are themes right around the hotel and all the staff wear the Flintstone uniform, there is Flintstone bedding also.
The rooms are on the small side with only CNN and sky sport in English rest foreign my boys watched the cartoons though but don’t let this put you off at all. My boys are 17 months, 5 and 8.
I travelled with my mum, it was the only hotel that gave us two rooms adjacent to each other 3 in 1 room and 2 in the other on a low floor as I requested with out having to pay extra for the second room. The rooms had air conditioning, fridge and a great bathroom. The view was fabulous over the pool and the beach.
The rooms were spotless we had a cockroach one night on the bed and then one on the wall, small in size but the cleaners are on the ball if you tell them and we never saw any after that. The cleaners are fabulous, smiley, helpful and great with the kids, nothing seems to be a problem, and they can also give you extra blankets for the babies cots if you need them, just ask.
Put your dirty towels on the floor if you want new ones.
The staff on reception were good, I did overhear one man on reception being a little short and sharp with a boy who was asking how much an activity was which I deemed as the receptionist being in the wrong.
When you arrive there are trolleys for your luggage so look out for those there are two receptions also.
There is a baby crèche and a children’s club. The children’s club is fabulous 10-30 until 1pm and 3pm - 5pm. It is not a crèche where you go off as sometimes the reps had to try and find parents for swimming things and cream etc. But they could not find the parents!
We made sure to let the girls know we were on site and told the boys where we were sitting for the day. I would advise if you do go elsewhere is to let the girls know as they have a clipboard and can write info next to your child’s name.
A handy tip - if you take a carrier bag put their full name on and put in swimming stuff you can put it in the clubhouse that is where it all happens from, the main contact point for your children. They need cream on and they get a pack with a bandana in and its best to wear it as they can be outdoors allot.
They do give the kids refreshments but its always worth checking, they knew me as I was always checking on my kids. But it is safe, it has fantastic enthusiasm, a great theme and they also inform you of the free activities which I thought was brilliant that they do this.
They have a programme where you pay and get your bands etc, you can do single days which I did one to see if they likes it then paid for the next 3 days and I got breakfast with Dino free and Freds party free. I would advise a small child of 5 can go in no problems but stay around as my son didn't always want to take part and would come looking for me.
All in all 10/10 for effort the staff are fabulous the best I have ever seen, you will be yabbadabba doing it when you return home and the coo coo song!! Really try and get into the theme of it all and you'll have the best holiday ever. The staff have to speak Spanish, Italian and English we met some great Italians and Spanish people with their children so lovely.
The pool is a little cool, the beach is fabulous, it was 17 euros for 2 sun loungers and brolly. Restaurant on beach, it has a flag system, there is an information board, do take notice as there is jelly fish when the yellow flag is up they are small but they come right onto the shore line so be very careful. It’s worth checking the flag before you decide to settle on the beach for the day and pay for the loungers!
The food is great plenty choice and there is a microwave, you have to pay for you drinks. For baby at breakfast I filled his milk bottle and used the microwave and in the evening I had to ask for milk and had to pay for it. I think they could do with a baby food warmer etc somewhere in the restaurant; I will drop the hotel an email to recommend this, and to point out where the changing facilities are.
The evening entertainment is just superb, theatrical, fares, bronco bull, dancing, a small one off bingo, mini disco outside for the kids, small chairs so the kids can sit at the front. The toilets you need you door key to open them. I still didn't find a nappy changing facilities for my son so I'm not sure if there was any. Bar staff are great, fabulous with the kids.
They do have an adult programme for through the day also, darts, French bowls, water polo, aerobics. I think the team of entertainers made our holiday fantastic, I would like to thank them so much, I highly recommend this hotel.
One negative, the fair outside the hotel, I lot of people seemed to be unhappy; I thought it was badly run and dangerous. The man was manhandling the younger children and parents were upset with this. There are some bikes you have to put a euro in they are a bit dangerous, kids were hopping on and off whilst bikes were still whizzing around. The first inflatable has a centre piece the rocks from side to side some of the tiny tots were getting caught under it, extremely dangerous for the sake of what was there I wouldn't put small children on here at all, just avoid it.
Don't hesitate to book this hotel, I travelled with my travel (part of airtours) booked on the internet and found them to be great and there pretravel services was great also.

We have just returned from our Family holiday in Menorca. This was our first time to the island and we have already booked for next year! We travelled with our 3 children 4, 9 and 10 months and their grandparents.
The hotel was excellent, pool great and good food. The resort is fairly small so you may need to hire a car which we did for 2 days (book it in resort across the road from the hotel much cheaper)
We did have a couple of problems, 1 with the lifeguard he wouldn't allow children to swim wearing the protective UV Swimsuits which of course protects them from the sun, but I then spoke to the Hotel Manager and this was sorted.
If you are travelling in a large group you may have a problem sitting together in the dining room as most of the tables are for 2 or 4 people. In the end we pushed 2 tables together and were told we couldn't do this, so had a battle to get a big enough table!
We travelled with Thomsons and we did not see a Rep the whole time we were there she never even turned up for the welcome meeting which was abit disappointing.
Overall though I would highly recommend the Hotel and resort for a family holiday and the Island of Menorca is beautiful and unspoilt.

All arrangements were perfect. The hotel was spotless and the food selection was extremely pleasing, it catered for all tastes.
This is an ideal spot for children. It is very close to a beautiful sandy beach and safe bathing. The sea is very gently sloped.

The whole family, that is my wife, 2 children aged 5 and 8 and I have just returned from Menorca and what a lovely holiday we have had.
The hotel was fantastic, yes the rooms are a bit small but do you go on holiday to sit in the hotel room.
The swimming pool is excellent although a little cool because the sun does not get on to it till about 10-30 but the size and the cleanness makes up for that my children loved it.
The food was good and if you hit the buffet like we did it can get a bit samey but there is as others have said plenty to choose from.
The mini club for the children is excellent well organised and very safe, I am not one for putting kids in clubs while on holiday but this one is superb. When your child is ready to come back to you they bring them back to you, they will never leave them to walk back to you themselves, plus it is not far from the pool area.
Bar prices are heavy so be warned.
If you like a cup of tea in the morning take a small kettle, tea bags, and a couple of mugs.
Do not book on the reps tour of the island at 42 Euros if you go over the road from the hotel there is a guy (local) called rafel he does an excellent island tour including a superb lunch, using a new coach for only 33 euro’s he will tell you things that are amazing.
Evening entertainment is good and they have a mini disco for the children every night first, after all the children can then sit in the front of the stage with helpers to watch the shows.
If you are taking children on holiday this is the place for you, you will have a whale of a time cannot wait to go again.

This was our first holiday abroad with our 2 year old and this was a good starting point.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our favourite members of staff were Conchi who worked in the restaurant and our cleaner - the singing lady.
Our room was on the 7th Floor and we overlooked the pool. The rooms were a fair size if there had been more of us it would have been cramped - we had friends that stayed for a week and they had a double, single and a cot - don't think they could swing a cat!
The swimming pool was lovely and the beach was just a two minute walk. It was a tad windy on a few of the days but it didn't stop us Brits making sand castles!
The Flintstone theme was also well received but trying to find it on the television when you get home proved to be slightly difficult!!
We found that there wasn't enough for the adults to do and Daddy got a bit bored.
All in all is a great place for a Kids holiday.

My wife & I went to Son Bou Milanos/Pinguinos, last June (6th time in 7 years!) and loved the hotel & resort as much as ever.
We first went in October 2000, then again in June 2002. The staff remembered us! Just think how many guests had passed through the hotel in that time, and we don't go out of our way to be noticed.
Yes, the rooms are a bit small, but there's only the 2 of us, so no problem.
The food is good, although sometimes I wish they would give the microwaves a bit longer - cold curry takes a bit of getting used to!
The resort is lovely, and great as a base from which to explore Menorca - hire a car. We are going again this June (can't wait!).

This complex, two hotels in one, are excellent for kids of all ages (2 to 52).
Food out of this world, hotels next to the beach. The hotels cater for people with children who just want to lie around on the beach or round the pool.
Alternatively people who want to have fun can do so with all sports in and around the hotel. I have taken my family there for the last 3 out of 4 years.
Would recommend it to anyone with children. 'Can't wait to go back' says my 9 year old.
