The Reef at Atlantis is Fabulous!
In January my family stayed for a week at The Reef at Atlantis. We've been to Atlantis a few times and this was the first time staying the new Reef -- the atmosphere is wonderful. It's not as crowded as "The Towers" and has a very classy upscale feel to it. I also really liked the fact that we were close to our own PRIVATE beach area. We stayed in an Ocean Side Suite on the 11th floor. This gave us great views of the beach and pools from our room. The room was very nice...modern furniture, big screen tvs, marbel bathrooms and... more
Great hotel, but obscene prices on food, etc.
We were there for a convention, so our room rates was quite reasonable- $240. But finding a meal anywhere on the island for less than 40 to 50 bucks is very hard to do. We had spaghetti and salad one night- for two people (no alcohol, no desert), $92 before adding tip. At the "burger bar," 3 burgers, 3 beers- $115. They automatically add generous tips to everything you do, even add one to your room charge every day for the maid, the doorman, etc. The Dolphon experience (we did the most expensive one) was a total rush job- watch a... more
Wonderful experience!
We just returned yesterday from staying 6 nights at The Reef at Atlantis. The Reef is the newest tower at this resort. We had connecting rooms (a one bedroom studio and a one bedroom suite) with ocean and Atlantis views. The night lights of Atlantis were beautiful to watch while sitting on our balcony before going out to dinner. Our group consisted of three friends sharing these rooms, so this arrangement gave each of us a private bedroom and bathroom. We also had a galley kitchen where we could make breakfast (bagels, PBJ, fruit,... more
Great place!!!
If you plan to stay at Atlantis I would recommend the Reef. The other hotels at Atlanis (ie Coral, Beach towers, Royals towers) are way to busy. I agree with most readers that it's like a zoo there. If you want a relaxing vacation with clean ammenities it's at the Reef (or Cove). Both places are calm, clean and quite. We almost had the beach to ourselves. The service was great. There was staff at every corner of the place. Every door we had to go through was opened by staff. The water park was 10 min walk near the Royal towers. Some... more
Great Place.. and the real deal on it!
My family of 4 stayed at the reef Presidents week.. Let's just start to say I hate crowds, so that was one of my biggest worries before going.. we chose the reef as we have a 5 and 6 year old and wanted to have a washer/dryer and kitchen.. Upon getting to Nassau we had the cab driver stop at the grocery store.. we spent $150 on breakfast, lunch soda and waters. This might have been the best thing that we did.. We ate breakfast and lunch in the room every day! I say this easily saved us $750 on a 7 day trip. We would get up... more
Loved The Reef at the Atalntis
Stayed 5 days over President's Day weekend at the Reef with husband and 2 teenaged kids. The hotel was amazing! The entire property was almost too much to take in over 5 days. The studio rooms were a nice size and everything was new and very clean. We had 2 rooms and were glad we had the kids stay adjoining, since the pull-out sofa would have crowded us. There are so many pools on the property that is was impossible to use them all. The lazy river was a very fun 'ride' and a good way to get from pool to pool. The slides... more
Very disappointing service.
First the good; The Atlantis resort is absolutely beautiful. The rooms at The Reef are first class (when things work). Food was generally pretty good, but as I’ve read in other reviews, don’t be in a hurry. It is a great place for the kids. Ours are 6, 9 and 11. I’m sure we were the exception, but here’s the bad; We stayed at The Reef for 4 nights beginning 2/14/08. We booked a deluxe one bedroom suite with an adjoining junior suite. We were supposed to have a king bed in each room, but the junior suite had two... more
Excellent upscale accomodations for young families.
We stayed at the Reef from February 8-14 with our 16 month old daughter. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The rooms were incredibly clean, modern and spacious. Our daughter slept in a crib provided by the hotel in the adjoining living room. The cascade pool was quiet and clean. Our daughter loved the zero entry pool, where she could independently splash around with the other toddlers. We have stayed at a variety of upscale resorts around the world, the Ocean Club, Sandy Lane, Four Seasons, The Ritz, Montage, etc. and this was right up... more
**WOW** We just loved it!
My husband and I stayed 4 days/3 nights and just loved the Reef. Staff always went above and beyond and really treated you w/ Ritz Carlton standards. $20 tip at check-in got us upgraded from a studio to a 1-bedroom suite :) ........woooooo hoooooo......... room was gorgeous, every detail was perfect ....... loved flatscreen in the bathroom :) ....... shuttle picks you up every 5 minutes and runs to the Cove then to the Royal Towers - so quick and easy!! ...... beach right outside Reef was gorgeous and never crowded. Would HIGHLY... more
Best Value in Atlantis
We got back from 3 nights at the Reef in December. The Reef looks and feel mostly the same as the Cove. They share the same architecture, style and locale. The two pools between the Reef and the Cove are exclusive to guests staying at those two towers. And they are heated. At the Reef, the ocean view faces the ocean, the pool and the Cove. If you book the Harbor view, be aware that the lower floors of harbor view has a direct view of a parking lot and former Club Med property that houses construction workers now. The Reef room... more
