The Palms Hotel

We were a group of 7 adults and had a fabulous time at The Palms in Sri Lanka. The hotel was absolutely fantastic with a beautiful sea view and lovely well maintained gardens. The food was scrumptious and the cook could not do enough for us. All the waiters were ever so helpful and made us welcome at the hotel. The beach boys especially SISIRA was so helpful and he made our trip to various places very enjoyable. Vey trustworthy people. We would definitely go back to The Palms hotel.

Hi, we have just returned from a marvelous holiday at The Palms Hotel Beruwela. Before going we had a few misgivings but these were soon dispeled on our arrival. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with little streams full of fish running through the building its self . The rooms are large and airy, with A/C, fan, fridge, T.V., safe and all have sea views. i only gave the palms an average rating because in my opinion for an all inc hotel it was just average i have been to far better in other countries........but having said that it was outstanding for its staff friendlyness and beautiful in its design with fish ponds running all aroud its walk ways and the gardens were beautiful too,every where was perfectly clean, my one gripe is that it needs new towels in the rooms and maybe some more parasols in a busier season . the double beds were huge and the most comforatable i have ever slept... more

We stayed at the palms hotel for 14 nights and had an amazing time. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. It was very quiet during our stay as it was out of season but the weather was fab. The food in the hotel was excellent. The reaturant and kitchen staff going out of their way to accomodate us. The Palms Hotel Beruwela May 2008 Spent two wonderful relaxing weeks at The Palms Hotel. Weather was great even though out of season. Food was excellent with lots of choice. We stayed at The Palms for two weeks at Easter and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff are really friendly and could not do enough for us. The food was good with a choice of both spicy and more 'western' dishes on offer each night. The hotel is well laid out in well-tended grounds and all the rooms face the sea. Stayed at the Palms after transferring from the Mermaid in Kalutara as the beach is far nicer here. As you enter the hotel you are met with pagodas and fountains, the grounds are wonderful. Our room was large with an ocean view and we were provided with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The rooms were kept spotless and every evening fresh flowers laid on the bed. The Palms Hotel is of a good standard, and my partner and I had a pleasant stay. The facilities are good, although relatively basic. There is a pool- and table-tennis table, which we put to good use. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere, and you often have to ask for things, eg. hairdryer and free-massage coupons. The staff were very attentive and answered our requests quickly. Prior to arrival we read reviews which were very positive, so had high expectations for our stay. The hotel building is impressive and is right on the beach. Evenings are quiet as entertainment is limited to that provided by The Palms and a couple of bars further along the beach. Excellent deal through mercury direct website. The hotel is idealic with lush tropical gardens and easy access to a very sandy beach. Staff very extremely attentive and very friendly. The only down side was as the hotel was so very quiet, we were the main focus of attention which on occassion was a little suffocating.
