The Landings St. Lucia

The Landings is a really nice place. Of course, they have only opened recently and therefore have minor teething problems. We were fairly disappointed with our first room. For one thing, the room had a musty smell and when I went to get into the plunge pool, there was a construction worker standing around. (this happened 3x) I called from front desk and they moved us up to the top floor so that we could get into our plunge pool in a little more privacy. This room was WONDERFUL! We stayed at the Landings for 6 nights in March. We so enjoyed St. Lucia and The Landings, we hope to return next year! The highlights of our trip: We were lucky to have beautiful, mostly sunny weather - not too humid or hot. Our top floor condo overlooking the beach was gorgeous! The furnishings, linens, and appliances are all top of the line. The bed was very comfy. A long overdue note to thank you again for the absolutely superb vacation that we and our family had at The Landings in February and March. We cannot say enough positive things about your resort and your team members. Just back from the landings and really have mixed feelings about the place. The rooms are fantastic. We were in 102 right on the beach. The view was fabulous. Walk right out the door to the beach. The furniture and appointment all top shelf. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the service a 9 despite one bumpy day. Gary the manager really responded to some initial issues. I have no doubt The Landings will be a 5-star resort in the future, but it will be a while. There is significant construction all over the property and it can be very loud at times. As of now, only stay in the beachfront buildings (100 and 200), as they get less of the noise. With all the construction, there is little beauty and lots of dust around the interior of the property. The Landings was beautiful; palatial buildings, gorgeous, soft, sandy beach, incredible vistas of Pigeon Island and a deep blue ocean peppered with sailboats- as stunning and charming as you could imagine it to be. The staff there were so friendly and warm. Everyone was very helpful and made me feel right at home. We had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened The Landings over the Christmas holiday. As frequent travelers to the Carribean, this was our first trip to St. Lucia... and what a treat for us. St. Lucia's mountainous, lush, and unspoiled beauty is becoming harder to find in the Carribean, and The Landings complements these natural characteristics beautifully. The Landings has to be one of the nicest places I've ever stayed at. Everything was brand new which was great. We had our own private hot tub on our enormous balcony and our rooms were really spacious and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The beach is very exclusive with a great view of Pigeon island which you can hike up if you're feeling adventurous. We would watch the sunset from the beach every night. Our family was taking winter holidays in the Caribbean for 30 years. The christmas 2007 and the new years was our choice since St. Lucia is one of the most interesting islands in the chain. Rodney Bay is a 3.5 mile beach and it is one of the best beaches for swimming.
