Sunset on the Cliffs Resort

We spent 4 days at Coral Seas Cliffs back in the spring. It is your run of the mill budget hotel like several others in Negril. We had a lower level room (2nd level has more of a breeze) with two double beds and a kitchenette. The kitchenette was great for the frig, but other than that we rarely used it. However if you do find you forgot something the staff chef is happy to let you borrow whatever you need. We went to Negril in late June, 2006 for our honeymoon. We wanted to do it inexpensively and the Coral Seas made it possible. The resort is basic, there aren't very many over the top ammenities. The staff is very nice and helpful. We enjoyed feeling as if we were the only people around, other than the staff. It is about $2 to go into town on the cab, or take the free shuttle to the other Coral Seas resorts. I recently stayed at the Coral Seas Cliff Resort in Negril, very nice relaxing low key resort. I have a major complaint. Two gentleman staying at the resort repeatedly had very loud prostitutes at the property. They were hanging off the balcony in the morning and extremely loud. There was nothing discrete about the situation, in fact there was no regard for any of the other guests. Leave the children at home, this is definitely not a family resort.

I am one of 2 couples that stayed at the Coral Seas Cliffs Hotel in January 2006. The rooms are basic and clean, the view is spectacular. Not just from the rooms but the restaurant as well. I cannot say enough about the staff, they were all friendly, nice and very professional. The staff alone made our stay enjoyable. The grounds, they were lush and well maintained. My husband, my two cousins and I were in Negril July 3-10, 2004 for the first time. We originally had reservations at the Coral Seas Garden Resort. What a dump! The view was terrible and the furniture in the rooms (at least the one we saw) was old and outdated. We asked be moved to the Coral Seas Cliffs. The view of the sea from our rooms was magnificent and the staff was wonderful. I had been to this property several times shortly after it opened. Returned after 6 years. Rooms are simple but clean and all have great views. Front desk, housekeeping and grounds staff were all very friendly. Restaurant was a joke though. Tried to have dinner one night. Took over 2 hours from seating to get food. Only 1 other couple in the restraurant. Tried breakfast but they weren't sure if the cook was going to show up. I just got back from the Coral Seas Cliffs Resort on the cliffs in Negril, Jamaica and I had a fabulous time there! This is a beautiful, well run, authentic Jamaican hotel. As my driver pulled up, a girl from the front office came out to greet me and check me in in the nice cool air conditioned lobby. The gardener carried my bags and showed me to my room. I always enjoy my stay at Coral Seas Cliff. I was there in August 2003 and November 2003. The staff is heaven-sent and so is the food. I always feel quite welcomed there, it's like the staff is my own little family. That is why I highly recommend Coral Seas Cliff. For the hospitality, it's inexpensive and the view of the Caribbean Sea is absolutely beautiful.

Spent a week in Negril Sept 20-27, 2003. Had reserved a "studio" which has a kitchenette. The unit we got had inadequate A/C and no coffee maker, blender, or micro. Moved to a different room on Mon. eve. This one was vastly better - larger and all amenities we wanted(ceiling fan did not work). Both had a balcony that looks out to the gorgeous sea. I booked my vacation thru a timeshare deal, so I didn't have much of a choice in hotels. Actually the only choices I had were one of the three Coral Seas Resorts. Upon the Beach being booked I chose the Cliff. Assuming if nothing else the view should be great, and it was. The hotel is typical of that you'd find on an island. Very suitable if all your looking for is a place to put your head down. If your on a honeymoon or like extravagence then your in the wrong place.
