Hesperia Villamil Hotel Reviews
" My wife picked out the hotel after... "
Submitted By: Mr A Davenport
My wife picked out the hotel after seeing it in a luxury holiday brochure. We wanted somewhere a little special for our last holiday before being transformed from a couple to a family. It certainly wasn't cheap but after hunting around the web we booked at a good saving over the package price.
The hotel feels like it developed out of an old manor house but old photos showed that it was built as a small hotel which has grown over the years. The positive side is lots of character and a garden setting right on the beach which could not be matched by a modern hotel. The hotel has been well maintained and felt very luxurious including the spa therapy pool in the spa complex. We enjoyed the breakfast which could be taken out on the terrace each morning and had a couple of nice meals in the excellent but expensive hotel a la carte restaurant overlooking the beach.
Only one grip, the air-conditioning in our room hardly cooled down the room but our friends room in a another part of the building was fine.
The resort of Paguera wasn't what we expected. It was a mainly German resort, which in itself normally ensures good quality and variety. However, most of the restaurants where busy in the early evening around 7pm and were shutting by 9pm with most of the cafes and bar closed by midnight. For Spain, the seemed totally unnatural.
In summary, great hotel but don't expect any late nights in Paguera.

However we did think the staff very unfriendly, except for a young girl that worked in the dining room. I did realise after a few days of staying their that they were charging me for my granddaughters food. Queried this at the desk but they said it had to be paid for there even though we had booked half board for all of us.
I have now taken this up with Alpha rooms and hope to be reimbursed very soon. I certainly would not recommend this hotel for their friendliness. Shirley Cobley, 3. 4. 06.
