Lovely Hotel pity about the Fair Noise

What was Excellent The Bed The View The Location The Service The Food What wasn't that great The noise from the fair ground in the rooms at night. It was really loud. I had to wear ear plugs. The music and noise was amplified. We were on floor 16. It was REALLY loud and I'm a fairly good sleeper. Hopefully this only problem will be rectified.
A rollercoaster experience

The good? Lovely comfortable rooms - very tastefully furnished - large enough for two with stunning views of the Palm and Atlantis from the balcony. Very comfortable bed although it was two joined together. Good breakfast with plenty of variety although the wall outside built slightly too high which blocked view of sea. Nice infinity pool - but no sun until late morning. Lots of nice little cafes and restaurants in the vicinity with traders setting up stalls at weekends. Stunning location with "magnifique" service

I have staid at this Sofitel twice: once in January and I liked it a lot that I decided to go again for a romantic getaway with my fiancée. To make it a truly unforgetable stay for us, I had talked to the very helpful staff and they did everything to create the setting for a wonderful experience: I got an upgrade to the Junior Suite, I had ordered flowers to the room and the greetings of both, my better half and myself (we arrived with seperate planes) could not have been more friendly. Is It Five Star????

Checked in to the hotel, having previously stayed at some of the sofitel,but this was the shock of my life...Rooms are smaller than Easyhotel...and the bathrooms...well if we can call them rooms..they are more like cubicles..and the toilets..well you can get into them and if you manage to squeeze in then you cant close the doors....so much for Luxury..... Worst part they charge you five star prices without even being able to prove that they are five star certified..... Good thing about the hotel...Location..Location and...

We spent 3 nights in this wonderful hotel. Exciting entrance hall. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Great swimmingpool. Situated on a charming place of Dubai. I will return certainly one day.

We were booked for New Year, and its not going to be open. It was always going to be a risk but when I booked in October the Travel agents said it was due to open in Nov. I thought surley they couldnt afford to miss Xmas and New Year, but they have!!. Real shame, the Sofitel offered several alternatives but none were what we were wanting. Our travel agnet was superb, she cancelled down our booking and found us an even better hotel. Dented the pocket more, but I am sure it will be worth it. Someone will I am sure enjoy a fabulous New Hotel...

Disappointed - not open

Like the previous review of this hotel I was told the hotel would be open and the booking was confirmed. I had telephone conversations and emails advising the hotel should be open and it should not be a problem. COMMUNICATION WAS EXCELLENT FROM THE SOFITEL. I was advised the hotel would not be completed for my stay in November and that they had arranged alternative accommodation in the same location for me. Disgusting Treatment - Hotel Not Open!

We booked this hotel for a great rate through Expedia and it said that the hotel was opening on July 1st 2009. As I've seen no reviews here I checked the hotels website and emailed them to make sure they are definitely open. I have just received an email (3 days later) saying that they are not opening now until August! The hotel doesn't seem to have told anyone (including Expedia) that they are not open!!! (and haven't displayed it on their website) I love Sofitel as stayed in one in Chicago but definitely not again. This is a complete...
