they dont want you here!!!
from cotu
Came here on business. many faults but just the basic necessities. they make you beg for coffee capsules to make your own coffee in the room will not refill your room with them.got the feeling you are not welcomed here.would not stay on my own dime.
very nice place.. but a few improvements would make it spectacular
from napervilletraveler
Booked this for a 20 year anniversary getaway 4 nites 48 hours prior to departure through bookit. 500 dollars per nite for their standard junior suite which was large 675 sq feet and had a sitting area and patio overlooking the garden and ocean. Breakfast was included which was very nice and a pleasant surprise to us. PROS: absolutely gorgeous property serene pristine spacious and sprawling private beach with white sand covered beds on the beach available at all times reasonable prices for...

Great Aspirations
from 2Dine4
This is tough place to summarize. This is a resort that tries hard. Expectations will deteermine how you rate your experience at this resort. There are many frustrations and some shortcomings which some will consider minor and others quite a bit more. First, the really good: the climate; a genuinely friendly, humble and almost universally anxious to please staff (e.g. a housekeeper who spoke very little English whom we randomly encountered in the hallway trying to find our way to one of the restaurants, tried to help - she didn't know...

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY STAYING HERE!!!!
from Torontotraveller009
This place was a disappointment from the outset. Our requests (solicited prior to departure) regarding our room were ignored, and we were rudely told that it was our bad luck, and we'd just have to suck it up. The room was noisy and had no hot water for the first day. The handles on the plumbing were faulty as well, and getting things repaired was an issue. Beware the additional costs! You get 2 small bottles of water on arrival, and are charged for each subsequent one thereafter. The store was poorly stocked, and VERY pricey, so...

It was an amazing, unique and exotic experience with a very hospitable staff!
from cwalters12
My husband and I chose this hotel because it was recommended to us by some friends who had stayed there before. We never imagined that this place would bring us such a wonderful experience with a spectacular ocean, majestic architecture, but most of all, a warm and kind staff who helped us in everything. Let me tell you, my husband was as excited as a toddler because here are several gorgeous golf courses in Cap Cana and he's an avid golfer! It was like a dream come true for him! It was the perfect arrangement, he would leave bright and...

HIGHWAY ROBBERY. This place is a disgrace. They should be shut down for lack of service and respect.
from travelgirl13NYC
First of all - Holiday rates were over 3x the normal rate and everything is pre-paid in full. I'm used to resorts doing this and am usually fine - it's high season and this is how they make their money. So be it. BUT, I expect the service that comes with those prices and oh boy they weren't even in the same galaxy on that subject. When you arrive and have an issue guess what ... TOO BAD. They've already taken you for round 1 because you're pre-paid and have zero leverage. No attention to detail. No customer service....

Not ready for prime time
from bobby44Nyc
We just finished a 10 day stay so here's the pluses and minuses. The property is beautiful, especially the beach, the rooms very nice and if you're a golfer Punta Espada is very special which is 5 minutes from the hotel. The service at the hotel is mixed. They try hard, but just don't have it together. We had to wait one hour after assigned check in to get our room. Many requests ie change for $20 bill they repeatedly could not do and trying to get a map of the area was like pulling teeth. Forget about buying a newspaper or any...

Not an adult only resort yet, maybe in April 2010?
from TravelerNJ001
I booked this resort prior to the new management and here is the story. I saw someone mentioned this resort is an adult only, please note that they're taking kids (obligations from old management). If you're being told differently, you're taking a chance. If you're doing a half board (breakfast and dinner), you get just soft drinks. Get everything is writing if you manage to have them throw in other drinks. I'd not trust even the new management. Here is the partial information (via email) I received from the hotel:<br...

Go at your own risk. A vacatio from hell!!!!
from extraspicy90
From the start, no room available despite having to prepay so as to be able to book. Arrival to front desk, chaotic and unproffesional. Did not even have the rooms that were requested available. Meal plan ridiculous.. added charges on every meal. Beach is virtually non-existent. Pool, not enough chairs. Room: conditions atrocious and not up to expectations for a 5 star. Checkout had a good number of double charges, that were disputed. Security: look over your shoulder, you might just have something taken. by staff or other guests....

HUGE Disappointment
from Sammy029
Do not waste your money or time in this resort! For the amount of money we paid to stay here, we received nothing! Even coffee in your room isn't covered. Poor showers, constant running toilet, and a malfunctioning air conditioner that poured water into our closet from the ceiling were just some of the "highlights" in our 2 bedroom suite. Never enough glasses in our room to even drink out of! No attention to detail what-so-ever. Outside, the beach towels were ragged, beach chairs torn and in poor condition, not enough people to help...
