Not Impressed

Beach towels are extremely hard to come by at this hotel Sandyport Beaches Resort. Swimming pool was grimy and the water at the lagoon was mucky as well. So we ended up going to the public beaches at the Paradise Island during most of our six-day stay – a bus and the taxi ride to the island is $5 per person each way. Definitely quiet at the hotel because there isn’t anything to do at the hotel. The Old Towne Mall is about a 10-minute walk and there aren’t that many shops or restaurants there either. We had a studio suite (a queen...

Relaxing getaway
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and i stayed at Sandyport March 6-10, 2006. After reading reviews, i didn't really know what to expect. It is very close to the airport. A one-way ride costs $15. The hotel is somewhat far from the casinos and the downtown area. But we didn't mind at all. The $1 buses that stop right in front could take you to downtown and the casinos. They stop running at 6 Pm though. so if you need a ride back, you must hail a cab. Sandyport did run a shuttle to the Crystal Palace casinos. They ran at 6;10, 8;10 and 9 PM. and brought...

We were alittle scared about this resort because of some of the reviews. But after our vist we have nothing but praise for the resort. The room was clean the resort was clean and maintained very well. The buses were very useful for getting around on the island. The resort is family friendly the kids loved the water slides.
$65 room for $245
from A TripAdvisor Member
OK, we only stayed there for one night. For some reason, we paid $245 for the night. The room should have been $65 -- it was that bad! Actually, we had 3 rooms: the first one had this annoying electrical/mechanical beating sound that would come and go, and just drove us mad, so they moved us. We dragged our stuff to room #2, were ready to go out for dinner, and found that the door wouldn't lock from the outside! Yikes, so we dragged our luggage *back* to the front desk for safe keeping, went to dinner. When we got back, we found...

Quiet and Relazing, Scooter Location On Site is a Ripoff
from A TripAdvisor Member
The place is a decent 3 star timeshare complex with several units that are rented out as hotels. Warning: DO NOT RENT FROM THE SCOOTER RENTALS ON SITE. I had a problem with the guy in charge "Francis" and basically had to threaten to call the police to get $150 back that went missing. The Hotel management didn't seem to want to help me despite that his rental location is on their property. For the price I paid ($120 US a night on Hotwire), I got a basic room and it was upgraded to one with a kitchenette as they were overbooked....

Don't go to Sandyport with kids
from twinnie
We just returned from a one night stay at Sandyport. We were on Paradise Island for 6 nights and needed to find another place for a night. If you are a couple just looking for rest and relaxation, then this will suit you fine. If you go with kids though, there will be nothing for them to do. The pool was o.k. It did have 2 waterslides, but in order to go down them you had to manually spray them with a garden hose. The restaurant on site Coco Loco's was shutting down a couple days after we left. They say they have a "game...

SANDYPORT BEACHES RESORT WAS FANTABULOUS!!!
from moabgreg
We spent a fantabulous week at Sandyport Beaches Resort on New Providence Island, in the Bahamas! We were there October 8 – 15, 2005. A few days before leaving home I called the resort about transportation from the airport, and spoke with Janice. She was delightful. She made arrangements for our flight to be met and for us to be transferred to the resort. Even though our flight was delayed, our driver was waiting patiently for us at the airport. Upon arriving at the resort, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely, and fun, Lady...

Nassau
from kburt11
Just got back from a week long trip to Nassau. We stayed at Sandy Port Resort. After reading some of the horror stories on here about all the resorts and just Nassau in general we were a little scared about the entire trip. Let me just say that I am glad we decided to go because all in all it was the best trip we have had the pleasure of taking. This was our first time outside of the states and to an actual beach area so let me be the first to say this was absolutley beautiful! The weather was a bit colder than we wanted but we made...

Lovely resort
from A TripAdvisor Member
Just returned from a 2-week timeshare stay at Sandyport. Had a very nice 2-b/r condo unit right in front of the lagoon beach. Large and fully equipped. By many standards, a bit 'tired' but that's pretty standard in the island and by no means unbearable. Service was good - William and Cameron were very friendly and helpful as well as most of the other staff. Had a problem with the phone that was not responded to but otherwise everything was good. The only surprise came at checkout when we were charged $12/day for energy. I'm surprised it...

Far from town but walk to beach
from wavechaser
If you don't mind being 20-30 minutes outside of the town of Nassau, Sandyport has a decent ocean beach, lagoon beach and pool all on site. The restaurant onsite (Coco Loco) has indoor and outdoor dining right on the beach but is not reliably open and restaurants and shops nearby are under construction so not fully operational. The Poop Deck Restaurant, within walking distance, has excellent food and views. There is a bus ($1 p/p 1 way) into town, runs very frequently but stops at 6pm. If you need to get in or out of town after that it is a...
