Aug 2011, never again

i cant believe these scores for the reviews of this hotel. the pool is filthy the staff are rude to English and the room is pokey!i enjoy magaluf and have been coming for years but now thanks this hotel i will not be returning, the four of us that stayed were rolling in at 6am and at 10am were forced to have the room cleaned, the spanish staff are the rudest people i have ever met, if magaluf is your choice make sure you steer clear of the "sol chain" hotels. plus not to mention the first night that was double booked and we stayed in some dump 1 star hotel that was kindly awarded to us. 0 star rating is a big compliment to this hole in the earth. do yourself a big favour and book else where!

In decline

Sep 2010, rusty

This hotel is typical of what you could expect from sol hotels around the world 20 years ago.
Plus points - it has a fantastic location, the food is adequate, the restaurant and other public areas are clean and well kept and the reception and bar staff are always helpful.
Things against - no air con(when it's hot and humid you really need it)the ceiling fan is in adequate, although there has been some attempt to upgrade this hotel feels as if its trapped in the past and just feels dated. I didn't see much of the evening entertainment, but what I did catch was poor.
This could be a really good hotel and you would have to wonder why sol melia have not done a more thorough upgrade. Given they appear of similar construction does the Trinidad have the same problems that closed the Jamacia

Standards and quality slipping as the years go by.

Jun 2010, ELLERMAN

We are a couple of lads who paid £332 for 6 nights, half board.
We have been coming to this hotel for the last 5 years but this will be the last time.
LOCATION
Around the courner from BCM's. 3 minutes walk from the beach. Good location if you like to walk up to the 'strip' and hang around the beach of a day.
FOOD
Really gone down hill over the years. Looks good but no flavour. Could only find chicken nuggets worth eating one night. Out of 5 nights food, we decided to eat out for the last 2 nights as we where tired of eating chips. Breakfast ok but no flavour and I'd rather pay 4 euros and go outside for a fry up. Good for toast and tea/coffee 2.50 Euros for a bottle local of beer.
STAFF
Didn't really come into contact with them. Used the bar one night and the barman was a mksserable git if that counts.
POOL / SUNBEDS
Two pools, heated but very short on sunbeds.
BARS
2 bars but the indoor one was never open. Used the outside pool one but found it way too expensive to want to spend any time there, 6 euros for 2 pints of flat, weak local (not San Muigel) ale.
RESORT
Really took a dive unfortunately. Used to be a mixture of ages but now it is completely overrun with kids, mainly lads in the late teens and early 20's. Probably about 20 lads for every woman. Defo not for the more mature gang.
Prices have really gone though the roof as well. We used to hang out in BACO's and Plaza Cafe but these places where a quater full at the most ang charge 3.80 Euros for a Pint. Again, places full of males.
Bars seem to make their money on mixers, 2 to 2.50 Euros for coke as a mixer.
Avoid the Indian on the front. 15 Euros for a Chicken Korma WITHOUT rice.

stayed here with my parents sister and boyfriend for 2 weeks and it suited all our ages. Rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfy, maids cleaned the rooms everyday as well as changing the towels daily. I would definately recommend hiring a fridge. In the first week the food was excellent, we never left hungry but the second week it was awful very poor choice. Overall the hotel staff were very unpleasant, reception were very ignorant and unhelpful.(except francesco the waiter, very nice man!!)Personally we did not cross the security guards but the police were called on one occassion with a woman claiming he hit her over the face and coming home one night a young fella was outside claiming he had been hit over the back with ones baton. I was advise you to ask for a low floor when booking, the lifts were very small and HOT, they got stuck almost every other day so take the stairs if you can because the staff were in NO hurry to let the trapped people out!! I would also ask to have a room facing mcdonalds, great entertainment watching the drunks and also to see if your partner is visiting the hookers that are on patrol.haha.you could not hear any noise from outside once the balcony doors were closed and you could not smell mcd's as i read in a review. very close to the beach, clean water and clean sand!!also you don't have to get up too early to get sunbeds by pool as they aren't unlocked to 9. BCM is brilliant, washing machine party, popcorn party and judge jules are all a must go!!hotel it is right in the in the heart of everthing!!entertainment was also good most nights.had a fantastic time overall!!we stayed in sol magalluf park last year and we would prefer sol trinidad except the food and air con!

Just recently got back from our stay at the Sol Trinidad & we would recommend anyone aged 18-30 to stay here, it is full of people of this age & loadsa fun. We have been to magaluf quite a few times now & would definitely stay here again if we were to go back! Only complaint is NO AIR CON, bit of a down side as when we were there it was soooo unbelievably hot and your room is never cool. Food is okay, basic hotel food but there is always macdonalds, pizza hut over the road & KFC etc. round the corner. Staff are very friendly, helpful and speak very good english. Hotel is situated just off the beach, about 2 minutes walk from BCM, BCM square and the strip, great place to stay and not too far to stumble home in the early hours. Rooms are very clean although bedding not changed very often, probably changed about 3 times in our 10 night stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel however watch out for the prostitutes right outside the hotel doors!

One Noisy Week!
6 / 10
Jul 2009, Mr K Hawkshaw

The Sol Trinidad Hotel is in an excellent location being only a couple of minutes from the beach and about five minutes from the main BCM night club square with all of its bars! Just around the corner from the BCM square is a street with loads and loads of bars, clubs and take aways - everything you need for a stag or hen do or a busy holiday!
Our accomodation for the week was a third floor en-suite bathroomed hotel room with three beds. Our room was very small and was obviously only ment for two beds, but the hotel had squeezed in a third bed for our group. Our balcony, overlooked the rear of our property and the hotel behind. This wouldn't have been a problem if it was not for the other guests staying in the hotel during our stay who decided to throw old shoes, balcony furniture, old take away food, glass bottles or urinate over their balconys!
The main problem with this hotel (and if your on a hen/stag do or wanting a lively holiday then it won't be a problem) is noise. The noise inside the hotel is constant no matter what time during the day or night caused by the other guests shouting and screaming, slamming doors, chasing each other around the coridors or fighting. The hotel behind the Sol Trinidad starts it's pool music at 11 am which is great, unless like we did, didn't get to bed until 5.30 am every morning!
However, all that said, the hotel is very clean, the cleaners cleaned and changed our towels everyday. Safety deposit boxes in your hotel room can be hired for 15 euros plus a 5 euro deposit.
As we had booked through the Easyjet web-site, no airport transfers are included. A taxi fare from the airport to the Sol Trinidad Hotel costs around 37 euros.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel, but would probably recommend the Vista Sol Hotel which the other part of our group stayed in.

Fantastic time in Magaluf

Booked a 2 week hols for my family, hubby and 2 kids (13 & 7)and with Sister, her partner and 3 kids. Hotel is very good for the money, clean, staff are very welcoming and friendly. Rooms cleaned every other day. The entertainment is really good, the pools are fab especially the indoor one for the kids.
The hotel breakfast isn’t worth bothering with as its like every breakfast in every hotel – swimming in oil – and the evening meals we did not like.
By chance we over heard a family discussing " the best food" they had in Magaluf so being checky we asked where they were on about. We were strongly told where not to eat. . . Tom Browns as the food was cold, small size and gives a pebble dash affect! do not need telling twice. And the best place , as we found out, was definately the Cottage.Across the road , pass MAcdondalds and its over the road next to the chemist. As did everyone else, be warned it gets busy, we soon sussed out the best times to go.... all the food is great, Hot, huge and the people there are really nice and friendly. We had the breakfast everyday for less than 3 euro and in the evening if you eat before 8pm you get the choice of 2 meals for under 14 euro. be careful with Rob's Sangria as its not until you try to stand do you realise its not a fruit punch....
We splashed out and went to Pirates and the show is mind blowing.. well worth the dosh.
We used public transport to Palma for a days shopping and was far more convenient and cheaper than the hotels.
all in all we had a fab time and got a great tan as well.

LOVED IT - WITH FAMILY
9 / 10
Nov 2008, JCMAGALLUFLOVER

We go to Magalluf every other year or so and have stayed here twice with elderly uncles (ages 70 and 71), in-laws (60 and 64), friends (45) and family (48,42,16,14,12,8). Every single one of us had a great time. Its really quiet at night (you're asleep by the time the youngsters come out at midnight with a family), very close to the beach and shops and safe to walk around with a family or let the kids walk along themselves early evening. The water parks are brilliant and the Pirate show is a MUST at any price. Have also stayed at Magalluf Park Sol 3 times and just as good and both excellent locations. Trinidad is near to everything and I can quite honestly say I have never noticed the noise or been woken up. The indoor pool is great for kids as it takes the sunburn risk away a bit and the pool bar restaurant is good. Entertainment is ok for families, the kids always enjoy it. There is additional entertainment in the square, a two minute walk away as well as the noisier bars on the strip and other roads very close by. Food and staff always been ok. All in all recommended for families of all ages. I am booking for 2009 with full family again.

Just back from a long weekend 25-29...

Sep 2008, Mrs W Mcilvaney

Just back from a long weekend 25-29 Sep this is second time staying at the Trinidad this year, location excellent, food good choice, and the rooms spacious and clean. However the noise from stag and hen parties really bad, i have been on these weeks myself so i am not criticising the parties. The hotel should allocate certain floors for these occasions so as other guests can at least get a nights sleep I was on the fourth floor and surrounded by constant noise from male and female groups.
Theres no control from the Hotel staff re-noise or behaviour and this can sometimes get out of hand. Thats my only fault so come on Trinidad sort something out.

Sep 2008, Miss H De Courtenay

We have just returned from a week in Magaluf, and I must admit after reading the reviews I was worried about staying in the Sol Trinidad. However when we got there what we found was a great hotel. The room was large and clean and yes it did only have a ceiling fan but it did the job well. We had no problems with noise all week and slept well every night. The pool area was clean and we had no problems getting a sun lounger, if the outside pool is a bit cold why not try the inside one. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the entertainment was good day and night. The food was great with a good variety to choose from, there was something for everybody. The location was great for nightlife with BCM only being 3 mins round the corner and the rest of the strip only 5 mins away. The beach is less than a min away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again myself anytime.
