From the very start the free-style reps were hounding our group for money to go on rip off events such as booze cruises and pub crawls. They were demanding 300 euros for nothing in return and they wouldn't take no for an answer. They were very rude and pushy and treated... more

I stayed in the Fiesta Tropico for 12 days and I can't fault it one bit. The staff wwere great, the hotel was clean! The only thing was that there wasnt any air con in the room, but this was made up with a celing fan, which was good. Rooms were very clean and after they... more

Security is non existant. We were told by a security guard on arrival not to use safety deposit box as over 20 were broken into the week before. On the first night both our rooms were broken into along with several other rooms on the same floor, all our money stolen. No... more

We booked the Fiesta Tropico on a last minute deal so it was very cheap, but to be honest I wish I'd saved my money and not bothered. Having been to Torre Nova which is close by a while ago, and really enjoying it, I didn't see a problem with Magaluf - how wrong I was!!... more

Can't wait to go back next year !
My family and I have just recently returned from our fantastic, 1 week holiday in Magalluf, and are already planning to book a 2 week holiday at the fiesta tropico again next year. It was a fantastic and beautiful hotel, with very basic and very clean rooms. It has the best pool i have ever seen, surrounded by space which is filled with sunbeds during the day, but if you want a sunbed, you better get up between 7am and 9am if you want some. There is also a nice outdoor bar and indoor bar and restaraunt by the pool, which shows all the major sports events so don't worry about missing a thing. The hotel is in the perfect spot, with tons of great restaraunts, shops and bars just round the corner. McDonalds, KFC, Burger King and the best restaraunt ever, Tom Browns, is right near, my family didn't eat anywhere else. Tom Browns has the best food ever, served to you 5 or 10 minutes after ordering, and served to you by friendly and hardworking staff. After your meal, have a game of the crazy golf at Tom Browns, it is the best 18 hole crazy golf course i have ever seen and every hole is a challenge. More importantly, the weather was fantastic and we all got a brilliant tan to say we only went for 1 week. Anyway, book this place, you will have a great time and i can't wait to return next year. never again
just got back from here with my family loved magaluff but the apartments were terrible cracked floor tile a fan on the ceiling that looked like it was going to fly of at any minute and a rep who was a proffesional [--] and brushed you off all the time, and if you wernt up at five in the morning you werent getting a bed but when youve got the beach why bother we were also right facing the 18 - 30s who used to come out stark naked doing star jumps with there bits flyin everywere lovely i must say never again i would definately go back to magaluff but not to the fiesta.
two sides to one hotel
Took my two sons to this self catering hotel on the 27th july 2007.I booked it because my x partner was to take the boys there next year and i wanted to check it out with them. The hotel sites between to 18-30 club hotels and if you get block 5/6/7/8 with the odd numbers ie 6201. block six, floor 2 room 01 ect, then your in deep trouble with your beauty sleep as these face a football playing area between you and the 18-30s and believe me it gets used loudly anytime from 3am till 8am.I have taken several pictures and videos of these events which i will add. dont get me wrong if you face the poor area you get relative peace.I did tell the thomson rep several times about this but was proffesionally brushed aside the room fans are set at a slow speed and you cannot change this so the kids get bloody hot at night.Im glad i went as magaluf was good fun and i got to save the x mrs from a disaster.i have recommended that she go benidorm with kids as the waterpark is better and so is the go karts, kids are so fussy,gd luck
Great place to stay
Stayed at the tropico for a week wish it had been longer cant fault the place for a budget hotel it gives top service. Pool was fantastic as long as you dont mind getting out early for a lounger food on site was the normal snackbar type the entertainment staff worked hard keeping kids busy and happy and found all the staff a happy cheery lot . If you are in magaluf you have to eat at tom browns top class food and great staff. If it is busy try the cottage over the road nice little bar with good food. must start looking to go back will stay at tropico again.
great hotel, shame about the yobs
Last minute deal, got a great price. Large complex, Very family orientated, room clean and well furnished. Great pool area, nice bar and restaurant. Reasonable entertainment. Magaluf itself over run with drunken English yobs, this does spoil the holiday somewhat, unless of course your a drunken English yob yourself. But as for the Hotel we were very impressed, Not sure we would stay again, but only due to the shameful behaviour of our fellow English.
Fiesta Tropico
I was worried about this hotel after reading so many bad reports, we stayed may 28th to the 11th june and had no problems. We were 2 adults and 2 kids, 13 and 12.We requested a pool view,it seemed quiter round there, and we got a nice room, looked over the pool and the pond with the turtles.Room1204 The apartment was basic, but clean, towels changed every other day, bedding once a week. The beds wasn't the comfiest in the world but are they ever? you can hire a safe 10 euros a week(and 3 euros deposit) worth doing to keep all documents in.....The fans in the room are ok,but it could really do with air con. Also a TV in the room would not go a miss, and we wasn't interested in the entertainment....its usual hotel entertainment you either love or don't....but the entertainment crew worked hard day and night. The pool area is nice, with a childs pool, but unless your up earlier forgett he sunbeds..... All the staff are friendly and willing to help, the kids club was quite big and the girls was good with the kids(although my daughter only went once). The thomson staff was great, and helped me when i had to ask about adoctor and put me in the right direction.Reception are always there if you need to ask anythng, and are willing to book taxi's etc..... At night thesecurity guard walks the ground, and sorts out any rowdy people, and they stand for no nonsense, they just call the police out We stayed half board, eating at the hotel across the road, the food is your usual spanish hotel food,breakfasts....cooked english or continetal, toast, cererals etc.....and evening abit of something for everyone. The food was good and tasty, but if you don't want to eat there all the time you can buy dinner vouchers in the hotel. The Red Lion in the hotel is not the best place to eat there is many places out and about and YES TomBrowns lives up to its reputation, very good. Another tip the bar is quite expensive, we went to the supermarket across the road, the beer and water are quite reasonable prices, so it gives you more spending money.....it cost us 9 euros a round at the bar, at the shop that bought, 3 litres of san miguel, bottleof 2 litre pop,and a 5 litre water. The hotel is well situated in the centre of everything, about 5 mins tothe nice beach, or about 20 mins to walk to palmanova or cala vinyes beach.(or the taxi to cala vinyes was 6 euros). Also on a saturday there is a car boot sale in the morning, just turn right out ofthe hotel.Good chance to test your spanish, because its a very english resort. There is plenty to do,many bars near the hotel and the british docter is across the road. If you like the noise and action head to the strip, bars, shops very active, or stroll to palma nova theres quieter bars on the beach front. I think i covered everything,so alli have to say is enjoy your holiday!!!!
Great! Highly Recommended
We stayed there for a week in May 2007, 4 adults and 3 children. We had 2 apartments, which were spacious and well kitted out. The children were aged 11, 12 and 15 months so varied! 2 of the adults were grandparents. I give this information just to show that this hotel catered very well for all ages. The resort of Magaluf was so much better than all the gossip and banter about it!! The main thing to express is the cleanliness of the hotel. And also how friendly everyone was. All the bars and restaurants surrounding the hotel were really good, especially Tom Browns. Great food, great atmosphere and great prices! The hotel is also in a fantastic position - so close to the beach, bars and the heart of Magaluf. Everything is just metres away. One of the best holidays we have had and we will definately booking again next year.
Fantastic for young children!
Been to this hotel 3 times now and returning next year for a fourth absolutely fantastic it was over 6 months ago and my 5 and 2yr old's are still singing the songs from mini-disco! great pool, very helpful staff and kids reps and entertainment team exceptional!
would recommend anyday.
I partly choice this hotel because of the price and also reading the reviews. My husband and i took our 2 girls for our first family holiday abroad and we couldn't of chosen a better hotel. The staff were really friendly and the reps were great. My oldest went to some of the kids clubs and throughly enjoyed herself shame that my other wasn't quiet old enough to go. The apartments had everything in that you needed, and were clean and tidy when we arrived. The only thing was that the pull out bed wasn't very comfy. We didn't eat any food in the hotel because we either made our own or went out. The kids pool was great because they could stand up in it and you didn't feel that you had to be in it when they were. The evening entertainment was very good and entertained the kids for us. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with a family at this time of year because its not very busy but busy enough.
never again
stayed in the fiesta tropico in june 2004. ths staff were ok but the food in the red lion was rubbish i think the chips came from mc donalds they were soggy and not very filling. it was not a very relaxing resort very noisey and with a couple of 18 to 30 apartment blocks around it could be quite noisey till the early hours . the only good thing to come out of it was meeting and becoming friends with a family from Wales. i wouldn't recommend the fiesta tropico to any of my friends.
