Punta Cana Resort & Club

Our family returned from this resort today after spending a week long vacation for spring break. Most of the positive comments written on this site were quite accurate. We found a truly beautiful resort, well-maintained. The staff was excellent and quite eager to please. Language was not a problem as there were plenty of English speaking staff on hand in all parts of the resort. I almost cancelled this trip based on some of the horrible reviews posted on this site; however, I'm glad I decided to see for myself. I was only there for a three night stay and was only interested in the beach and water, so this was the perfect retreat. The grounds are beautiful and secure and the beach is large and uncrowded. Many people rent golf carts to get around, but I was happy to walk around and explore the place and never felt the need for a vehicle. The staff is amazingly warm and friendly. I agree with most of the reviews that this property will be just what you expect. It is quiet and the staff is excellent, with one exception. Be careful when dealing with those that greet your vehicle. When we were checking out on April 4th I told the bell captain that Apple Vacations would be picking us up at 1 PM and left our luggage (with Apple tags all over them)with him. My wife and I just returned from 5 nights at the Puntacana Resort & Club. We flew from NY's JFK on a direct flight that took a little over 3 hours. We were meet at the airport bay a young lady who wisked us through customs. We were placed on an air conditioned van for a quick 5 minute ride to the hotel. The driver was very nice and informative. At the front desk of the hotel they gave us a cold moist scented wash cloth and a welcoming cocktail. Our deluxe room was very clean and modern with a small patio area. Just returned from a brief stay at Punta Cana Resort and Club. This past trip was my third time at the resort, and all three times I go with Domincans. I am decent at Spanish, and never had any problems communicating with the staff at the hotel, and I think the level of service you will recive tends to be better if you at least make an attempt to speak the language. We just returned from a 3 night stay at the resort that was far too short. The pace was leisurely and relaxed - just what we were looking for. We found the service and our room to be mostly great. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a view of the beach right out our front door. Of course, we didn't spend much time in the room - we were on the beach. The beaches were gorgeous and uncrowded. We just returned from a 9 day stay at the resort. The place is beautiful!! However I would not pay the "rack rate" for the place. Shop for a deal. There are a series of buildings and initially we stayed in the 3000# bldg which all had 2 full beds per room. Wonderful view of the beach- actually, right on the beach, but an older unit and far from the main complex and pool. If you want to go to a resort that offers no or very little included actvities, no night life and only two night performances in one week that were terrible.And way below what would be considered four star quality; then go to this resort.( not even a piano at the bar! We just returned from Punta Cana Resort and Club. We were there during Februray vacation and to our surprise it was not crowded but enough people that it felt festive. We had a wonderful time. I have read all the other reviews and can't believe the negative ones. The staff was clean and very polite. Most spoke very little english, but were very sweet and eager to try. My boyfriend and I went to the Punta Cana Resort and Club from February 19th- 25th and found that it provided us with everything we wanted in our vacation. The deluxe room was large, very comfortable, right on the beach, and so clean (especially the bathroom, which seemed brand new). There are 3 main beaches at the resort: the beach outside of our room which was really nice and uncrowded; the longer "main beach" which was beautiful but windier; and the beach in front of the golf clubhouse, which was gorgeous and felt very remote and quiet.... more
