Phuket Island View

First time in Thailand and hence through lot of research settled on this place. The taxi takes almost like 1 hrs to reach Karon. We stayed for 4 days Rooms : We had booked a bunglow but the one we got was behind another one with no view etc so we asked for a change and they very promptly changed it to a room with a view . The hotel does not have a sea view ( may be from the top floors ) but all rooms have a swimming pool view so always insist on a room with the view. We stayed in the Island View hotel in october. After reading the reviews we decided on this hotel. We were not disappointed. Stayed in the bungalow which was spacious and spotles clean. Hotel is on a good location, just across the beach, near to many shops and restaurants. We had our breakfast included in our reservation, which was very limited and the same every day. But to be fair, the low price we paid, the hotel cleanliness and closeness to beach and restaurants made up for it. All in all we were 100% satisfied with our choice of hotel... more

We were pleasantly surprised at the Phuket island View.The hotel is beautiful and could easily be a 4star.The staff are genuine nice people and take great pride in their hotel.It is very clean and the rooms are bright and large.We have stayed in many hotels in phuket before and this one is the best by a mile.The area it is located in is Karon which is changing so much and almost sleaze free.In fact what made us so comfortable was that there were no sex tourists in our hotel and it is totally frowned upon by staff and guests.This hotel is... more

We booked this hotel over the internet and paid $323 australian dollars for 9 nights,for a bungalow room. Was very impressed!! there were only 15 rooms full and our bungalow was right near the front pool and the restaurant, but not noisy. We booked a couple of tours through reception and paid the least amount of anyone on our tours so great value there!! We were four persons, me, my wife and our two grown up daughters. We got two nice rooms next to each other, facing the garden between the two main buildings, with a convenient connecting door between. The rooms were big, clean and served the purpose. The bathrooms also big enough and clean (no luxury, though). The hotel buildings are at most three stories high and placed in a jungle-inspired garden very close to the sea shore. We got a perfect deal, 600 euro/p.p include flights and 14 nights (with buffet breakfast) at this hotel (from sweden). We had a taxi waiting for us at the airport and when we came to the hotel (late evening) they asked if we wanted some food. The chefs was excellent, in fact, all the staff was excellent! We had a fantastic 5 nights at Phuket Island View with a lovely garden bungalow by one of the 3 pools. The food was great with an excellent choice for breakfast. The staff were friendly and eager to help in any way they could. Would definetly return to this hotel again. Karon Beach is literally just across the road, great beach. Karon is a much nicer resort than Patong. Can recommend the Tourist Office in Karon for tours (cheaper than other places) likewise taxis. Good value accommodation in good location near Kata end of Karon Beach. Booked four nights in early January 2007 and choose this hotel as it hadn't hiked its prices up for early January like others on the island (maybe this was due to a small extension being built on the back of the property, which was nearly completed when we were there). We stayed there for a week and the staff was very nice and helpful. The room we had, had airconditioning, clean toilet and a balcony. The bed was hard to sleep in, but it was ok. Theres two -three pools in the area, one large and two small. And the restaurant seabreeze had great food. The Hotels location was near the beach, you could just cross the road and you where there. The hotel is at the south end of Karon beach and a 5-10 minute walk to Kata town. Takes about 20 minutes to walk to Kata Beach and about a 25 minute walk to Karon Circle. The location of the hotel is good if you prefer Kata town but if you prefer the area around Karon circle you will be better off booking something in that area as it is too far to walk there every day, about 2,5 Kilometres.
