Over-priced, under-construction!!!!
pros - friendly staff, good mexican nachos, if you ask for anything (dvd player, lighter, batteries, they will get it for you. cons - "ocean view" rooms have a major construction site obstructing the view, when it rains heavily, water pours underneath your door into your room, the "high security" safes do not work very well, the key card does not work at all times, the massage team likes devises mischievous schemes to get your money, the pool is small, only one tiny 2 -person sauna, the gym is decent but the ping pong table net is... more

The distance to Karon Beach National Park Lakeside as measured on the digital odometer in both my Benz and our Altis limo is 450 meters and correctly stated in our website, the distance to the high water line on the beach is 875 meters as you walk out to the left side or 750 meters as you walk out the right side ( or 542 meters by air). These are undisputable facts and anyone who would like to come over and measure it with me is welcome. I meaured the walking speed of people crossing the bridge between the domestic and international terminals at Bangkok International Airport, it's 492 meters long and everyone makes it across in 5 minutes, it does seem like a little farther if you're carrying luggage. Our Ving Card Presido Door Locks work the same as they do in any other 4-5 star hotel. You slide the card in, wait about one second and pull it out, you may then open the door. Hmmm. The Gold Electronic safes (combo credit card or combo) are used in over 50% of the 5 star hotels in Thailand and work exactly perfectly when you follow the instructions. The rain storm which the customer complained about a little water getting under their door dropped 30 cm of rain with 100 kmph winds in just over 30 minutes. It flooded the main area in Karon Village with 1 meter of water in many places. We apologize that a little got in your room. This is a tropical climate, and the fact that you did have so much rain during the stay probably didn't make the holiday much better, we apologize for the weather as well. The steam sauna measures 4 X 2.5 meters, comfortably seats 6-8 people and is larger than any steam sauna at any hotel I've stayed in Thailand (usually I stay in 4-5 star hotels). Once again this is an undisputable fact, The customer paid 40 dollars for their room and extended their stay by one night. You can make the call yourself. P.S. all the rest of you will be happy to know, yesterday we started paving the 190 meter section of road which leads out from Pacific Club down to the beach. It's basically our driveway but belongs to the government. After waiting for them to do it for over 3 years now, we have undertaken the project at our own expense. Should be done in about 2 weeks. Cheers.

Fantastic value for money
I decided to stay at the Pacific Club with my parents who were visiting from the US, based on the reviews and pictures I saw on this website. On our arrival to Phuket,we were initially a little put off because none of the taxi drivers seemed to know where the hotel was - It was partially my fault since I did not print out an address. Anyway, after a short detour to the taxi driver's office, we were able to find the hotel. The entrance to the hotel was a bit scary, to be honest - there were shacks, half-built construction, dirt roads. My... more

Thank you for your comment. Regarding your suggestions, for which we also Thank You: 1. We are in negotiation with owner of the land at the front of our street to put in a second sign :) 2. You may have noticed at the far end of the pool deck, a small section with new tiles. It'll be done this month :) 3. During low season we have a very limited breakfast buffet, all orders are cooked fresh to order and Thai food is available. I really apologize that my staff didn't inform you correctly. Next time please try the Eggs Benedict Florentine, Huevos Rancheros, Omelet of your choice, Orange Cinnamon French Toast, and of course any Thai dish you would like. It's all included at no extra charge as stated in the menu and if you have a little time, we'll cook up the best breakfast you've ever had. The buffet is only starters and for folks who are in a hurry :) Kind Regards:) Eric

Great Value
My boyfriend and I traveled to Bangkok and Phuket in March. Initially we were to stay in Patong at Burasari, but after reading enough about Patong to know it wasn't our vibe, I made last minute reservations at Pacific. A word on this: My boyfriend and I are relatively young (28), hip, and progressive, but Patong was too much for us. It was uber-commercial and downright skanky. NOT a place for families or couples on a romantic getaway. That being said, Karon wasn't exactly ideal either. The town caters completely to Scandinavians. And... more

Thank you for your review. I'd like to comment on the taxi service. It's important to understand that the airport taxis and tuk tuks in Phuket, as throughout many parts of Asia, are what is known as "touts" other people refer to it as "monkey business". They offer you transport at under market prices and then make all their money off commissions on your hotel and whatever shopping you do with them. So if you take a cheap taxi to look for a hotel, the hotel will have to add approximately 500 baht/night to the room rate and pay it to the taxi driver (this is a standard, non-negotiable and most hotels pay). And believe me, these guys are mafia, they come back day after day to check if you've checked out or not and get their extra commission. Have you ever noticed how once you meet a taxi driver in Thailand, you continue to see him around. You're now his property, he's not just some friendly guy looking after you. He's looking after his property. We charge 800 baht for private limo airport transfer (it takes two hours and 400 baht of gas to make the roundtrip, we have to go empty one way). Sometimes you can get metered taxis to go for a good price about 5 or 6 hundred baht, especially if they want to get back home. You must have been lucky and got one of them. We and our customers like those guys. However, normally they won't come to the beach areas because the local taxi mafias forbid them to pickup customers in "their" turf so they also have to go back empty, so you wouldn't have had much luck hailing a metered taxi to bring you back to the airport. We've had customers get in "cheap" taxis at the airport and then the driver turned around and returned to the airport after finding out the customer had a confirmed booking and rate with us (they know we refuse to play the Monkey Business game). Then he tells you he's busy but his friend will take you for a higher price. After all is said and done you pay the same price we charge after going through an hour long ordeal. A couple days ago we had a customer take the minibus from the airport to save a couple hundred baht, it took him fours hours to get here. First they took all the people without hotel bookings around to look for rooms, then they dropped him at the bottom of our driveway and called us to come down and get him. Needless to say, this guy was not too happy about having saved the couple hundred baht. A real non-mafia airport limo using top line late model cars such as ours will charge about 1,000 -1,200 baht. So next time you think about saving a couple hundred baht on a taxi, think twice, you may easily be spending an extra 1 or 2 hundred dollars after they get all their commissions from everything you do. No wonder these guys don't mind to undersell the taxi fare a little bit and go back to the aiport "empty". These guys are slick, some people even tip them for being such "nice" guys !!! We believe in charging the cheapest rate around for rooms of our quality, as you said "Great Value", thanks, and then charging appropriate prices for other services required. So at the end of the day, we don't mix the room rate and taxi fares such as the taxi mafia does. I think most civilized customers prefer our style of business, Well, there is an exception, if you book one of our package deals, which are a great value, then you get airport transfers included as well as many other extras in one price. My advice, always book your room and transport in advance of arriving in Phuket no matter where you stay. We offer the transport services (and we lose money on it) simply to make sure our customers get where they want to go with no hassles (and our limo passengers are insured in case of an accident, many are not). Our services are safe and prompt, and we forbid our drivers from taking commissions behind our customer's backs. Regarding the walk to Karon Village, we also offer a shuttle to Karon Village which apparently you didn't know about, we charge 50 baht (a little over a buck) to run you down to Karon Village if you don't feel like making the 10 minute walk. We apologize for not having informed you of this. Our shuttle will also wait and bring you back for no extra charge if you just want to run down to 7-11 for a couple minutes to pickup supplies. When returning from the village, simply stop into one of our two sister restaurants, Karon Cafe or Las Margaritas and my staff there will happily call our driver for you. At the end of the day, I hope Phuket gets some better public transportation soon, we're not so happy about losing money on our transport services either, but we must do it to serve our customers. For the meantime, please be well informed.

We loved it!
Looking at the reviews it seems as if some of us have not stayed in the same hotel:-) My husband and I stayed at this hotel in the beginning of April as the end of a wonderful trip around the world! We picked it because it seemed to be quiet, seluded and the pictures of the pool were just to good to be true! Well....I have to say that there is one big down side when chosing to stay here: The pool area is just too nice, and makes you wanna stay there all day (we only went to the beach once!). True, there ís construction going... more
Really beautiful and in touch with nature
When I arrived in the afternoon, I thought everything about this place was perfect. The design is really nice and clean and new, the beds comfortable, the food delicious. The staff was also helpful. My only problem was that the lights in the outdoor hallways (i.e., all the hallways) attract many large insects at night. Maybe I'm too sensitive and maybe it's a seasonal thing, but huge cicadas buzzing erratically near the elevators make getting to and from one's room quite an experience. Also, I would add something to the gap under... more

As the Architect and Owner of Pacific Club, I would like to say "Thank You" since I designed Pacific Club specifically to be in touch with nature. Although we have an 8 floor building, I wanted it to feel like the "Bungalow" resorts which are now quite popular and much more expensive than us. That's why I designed the large gardens in the open air corridors on each floor, in the restaurant, and around the pool which even has plants hanging in the water and over the waterfall (well actually we have plants everywhere you can put them). It was a major challenge to find a pool purification system which could take the spring water which feeds the pool and purifies it to standards without killing the plants as well. The secret came in the form of a new technology called Anti-Bio which combined with salt water chlorination leaves the water safe, healthy, and natural so much so that it doesn't even harm plants, so you can stay in the pool all day without noticing any adverse skin reactions etc. BTW. the cidada season this year has been really excessive and affects all hotels in Phuket, but especially the ones in more natural locations such as Pacific Club. It will be over soon and we are thankful that the only place they like to hang out is in the corridors at night and not in the restaurant or at the pool. We apologize that the occasional one got into your room.

We could not have picked a better hotel in Phuket
We just came back from a week in Phuket and we stayed at Pacific Club Resort and Spa. First of all the location is beautiful, a true representation of Thailand. This hotel is set back on a hill, away from all the rest of the tourists, you can get a chance to truly relax. The service was excellent, also! They were always very nice, and they went beyond our expectations. Although, the wake-up calls were a little late; they were truly the only drawback. Our room was very clean, and was always stocked with everything we needed,... more
Ok, but Disappointing
I'm quite confused that this resort has so many strong reviews with high recommendations. This is one of the reasons we picked this hotel, and to be quite honest, I feel a bit deceived, or as if I completely missed out on something. We decided to splurge a bit & go for a room with an 'ocean view'. Well what a view it was - the first morning I flung the curtains open to find myself staring at about 12 construction workers on the adjacent apartments-in-progress. Needless to say, our balcony went unused. Apart from that shock, it... more

Obviously you weren't satisfied with the location you picked, probably because you forgot to check the aerial photos of our location in our website, whereas all the other customers who give us rave reviews did check our location before they booked. Actually, as you can see by reading the reviews which you thought were deceiving, that most of our customers love the fact that we are one of the few hotels in Phuket which allow you to enjoy a relaxed tropical paradise experience (sounds of jungle bugs and everything outside your room but not inside), yet still be able to walk to the main activities of Karon Beach and Karon Village in less than 10 minutes. We are not the hotel for folks looking for a city experience in the jungle. We're happy that you found our rooms to be exceptional as did everyone else. I guess you didn't bring your laptop so you could try our Wi-Fi and exceptional connectivity. Finally, our security is based on IP cameras and the fact that I have 15 staff posted around the building at night (including one on each floor of rooms, that is one staff per 8 rooms) along with one armed police in front at night. All of this which you are not supposed to notice, thanks for confirming that fact.

Great hotel
I stayed here in March 2006, located some 10 minutes walk from the main town of Karon, set in a good location, although at present there is a hotel complex being built along side Pacific club, so not as quite as you could wish for, a disadvantage at present, but Excellent rooftop pool, good clean accomodation, good food & friendly staff, no problem with mosquetos, a good base for day trips to various Islands, phi phi, Khai( good snorkelling)james bond Island, krabi , similian Island etc........

Thanks for your kind review, The pool tiles are first on the list of improvement for this low season.

Home from home
We had booked to stay five nights in January 2006 and ended up staying nine and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is great value for money, in fact when we booked it we wondered what the catch was especially when the price included breakfast. The food was lovely particularly the lamb stew, the staff were friendly and helpful and made you feel at home. Even the resident dog Rascal welcomes you! The rooms are lovely and spacious and we were particularly impressed with the roof top pool and the views from there. When we arrived we were... more
Great value, great quality but watch those pool tiles!
I had a most enjoyable stay here recently. On arriving at the hotel reception with its grubby looking garden furniture I at first wondered whether I had made the right choice. However on walking into the hotel and entering our room my fears were quickly dispelled when I saw both the cleanliness and the quality of the furnishing. True there is construction work going on and if you sit on your balcony you are likely, as we were, to be staring face to face with one of the workers toiling on the building in progress opposite. However... more

Thanks again, Also, please note that the reception will get a face lift during the low seaon as well. We know which things can be improved and now that we have somewhat recovered from the financial problems caused by the tsunami, we will be able to do even more cool things.
