Naladhu Resort Maldives

We stayed at Nalahdu for three nights in August 2009, following a four night stay at Anantara Veli and prior to moving to the Baa atoll for eight nights at Coco Palm Dhuni Kohlu. It probably goes without saying for our three nights at Naladhu were nearly perfect (besides the dreadful weather!). We stayed at Naladhu for 10 nights in July and having previously stayed at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island it had a lot to live up to. From the moment we checked into our Ocean House we were looked after in every respect. The Ocean House was perfect and afforded total privacy. The restaurant on the island was superb and the Naladhu eggs on the breakfast menu were delicious. When we were searching for a place to stay in the Maldives, I came across Naladhu, and really fell for the rooms. And the rooms certainly lived up to the expectations. The bed was probably the best I've had in a hotel, the interior was beautiful, the pool was large and about 1,5 m. at the deepest (not only a plunge pool), the bathroom was super luxurious and huge, the outside daybed was perfect and the towels and robes were the best. I could not have hoped to have stayed at a better place than Naladhu.The house is designed to keep maximum comfort in mind and the view from ocean house is spectacular.The welcome at the jetty was great and the most joyfull thing about the stay was the house master Ali,whom I named Ghost as he was always present whenever we needed him.He would be there standing at the jetty when we would come back from dinner and be there always to help with a decent smile which was not fake or over enthusiastic.The food at all outlets are great especially... more

We spent the last couple of days of our honeymoon at this resort and it was just paradise. Everything about the island was immaculate. The rooms have 100% privacy and the standard the room is funished is of the highest quality. The design of the room is very unique and the Very large open bathroom was just amazing. I have staayed in may hotels but none that top this design. The cost of drinks and food on Naladhu is the same as other islands in the maldives. We came back from a week’s stay at Naladhu at the end of May. Our stay was preceded by a week at Kanuhura (see separate review). We spent a really lovely week at Kanuhura where our expectations of the hotel were completely surpassed, which is worth bearing in mind, but I’ll try to be as objective as possible in my review. we spent six wonderful nights in Ocean House No.11. Our initial plan was to go for Beach House but we were told it will be some USD900 in addition to the Ocean House, so we took a chance and went for the Ocean House instead. From the moment we boarded the boat transfer, we did not close our jaws because we thought we had reached heaven! Beautiful little island with excellent house (room) design. Exceptional privacy for the ocean houses with unobstructed view of the ocean. Very nice beach mostly empty, even during periods of no vacancies. The island hotel is part of a three island complex, with the other two hosting Anantara resorts. Very good service without being pressured in any way to buy additional services (whether it's scuba or an excursion, etc.) So the epitomy of relaxation. First, the negatives. Naladhu is in a lagoon which it shares with a “service” island which has the electricity supply, some staff accommodation and so forth, an uninhabited islet and two other island hotels. Therefore there is no feeling that you’re anywhere very remote. Also, there is no significant snorkelling – at least, not by Maldives standards. We just landed days ago back from 7 nights at Naladhu, and my wife and I having spent quite a lot of time on Trip Advisor to read member's reviews to book our trip thought it would only be fair to contribute. Naladhu is located in the South Male Atoll, about 40 minutes by speedboat from the airport. I am currently writing this from our Ocean House No. 13 and I have to ask myself why I am not out enjoying everything that Naladhu has to offer. I guess I feel strongly enough to write and let others know how truly fabulous this resort is. We are here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and there is no better place we could be. My wife and I have just returned from a truly wonderful eight day stay at Naladhu. We have stayed at a number of first rate places over the years, but nothing that matched this for luxury and service - it exceeded all of our expectations. The island is delighfully small and, with only 19 "houses", feels very private and exclusive. We had one of the Ocean Houses, which meant that we had the benefit of uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean and the gentle sea breezes that came off it.
