Marriott San Juan Resort & Stellaris Casino

The San Juan Marriott is a very poor example of what a Four Star Luxury Hotel is suppose to be. The Condado Beach that it sits on will never be mentioned in the nice beaches of the world. The beach is dirty, there are many rock formations in the swimming areas. The currents are strong and when they rescend, they take the sands of the beach with them which you are swimming in and completely covered over with this sand. Since I had read other reviews of this hotel on your website (both pro and anti), I was curious to see how we would like the hotel. We loved it! We were given a tenth floor room facing the ocean. We were thoroughly entertained watching the activity on the beach when we were not actually there ourselves. The hotel was immaculately clean, the personnel were very friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Three of us stayed to here from 2/27-3/1. We were concernd from some of the reviews, but were certainly pleased by what we found. The rooms themselves are adequate. The balconies are small, but the ocean views are stunning. The Mariott's beach is the best in Condado and the pool area is really quite nice. We were accomodated in all our requests with nothing but smiles. Our only complaint is that the lobby is extremely loud as the bar is open with live entertainment nightly. Just got back from San Juan. Was there 2/28/04 thru 3/1/04. Overall the hotel was decent, but not worth the full price. If you are looking for a super modern, big room, look elsewhere. The location was nice, as there are lots of dining options around the area. The room and bathroom were a little dated, but the bed was soft,. Let me start by saying that I never ever usually read reviews for vacations that I go on, but being that I have never been to PR, I did alot of research. The worst thing anyone can do is read these reviews. There are so many negative reviews for this hotel and for the life of me cannot figure out why!! We enjoyed our stay at the San Juan Marriott. The service was excellent. Upon check-in, we received a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the ocean and pool. The room was clean and well-kept. The pool area was wonderful with ample chairs and room. The bar and waitstaff were very attentive. I stayed at the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino on a recent business trip to San Juan. The hotel was very nice. The location was fantastic short cab rides to the airport, downtown, and Old San Juan. The street in front of the hotel (Asheford Avenue) was always lively and there were many great shops and restaurants, plus a delicious gelato shop across the street. We stay over Presidents/Valentines day weekend and had a blast. The entire staff was exceptional. We wanted to eat at several resturants but no resveravtions were available(Including the Marriotts's upscale italian resurant). Sarah, our consgier took our request and spent a great deal of time getting us reservations for the entire week end matching our likes from our origonal requests. We stayed here on Sunday night Feb. 1. following a great cruise. The ocean front view was great. the staff was wonderful and the room was large. The pool area is beautiful and the beach is probably the nicest in Condato although a little rough for swimming. The food prices are a bit high but there are several local restaurants within a few blocks.
