Makadi Palace

returned 19 feb spent a week here after nile cruise which was great but tiring . This was just what we needed very peaceful food good and snorkling fantastic the pool at the grand was heated ,apparently the palace pool was freezing only saw one person in the whole week but the 2 hotels join together so people used the grand pool the palace was very quiet i think a lot of people had changed due to building work, we had and thought we had made the right decision you could hear work close to the palace but not at grand,the hotel theyre building... more

This place is perfect as a relaxing get away break, the whole place is opulent in the extreme. We never had to ask for a drink as the waiters seem to know just when to restock empty glasses. We found all the staff exceptionally friendly and willing to serve even to the point of laying out you towels, Supplied by the hotel, onto your sunbed. The snorkling in the red sea was phenomenal, and would suggest going out as far as you can walk then snorkling in the deeper water, like a different world! Just got back from Makadi Palace. A beautiful hotel, the service from all staff is superb. They were always there but not in your face. The food in all restaurants was excellent, the quantity and quality is first rate. No one i met on this fourteen night holiday had any tummy problems!! But take plenty of imodium just in case. Pool isn't heated and believe me it's cold. But you can go to the pool next door which is heated and very lovely it is too. We had a great time and will go back again. My boyfriend and I just returned from a week's stay at Makadi Palace and from start to finish we were stunned at this beautiful hotel and the service. When we arrived and were checking in, drinks were served as a welcome (a great touch after the coach journey). The hotel really does look just like the pictures advertised on websites. We stayed at the Makadi Palace in February 2006 and are returning to Egypt for an extended tour based on our experience - in fact, we have recommended the hotel to so many friends that we are considering asking the hotel for compensation! Just got back from Makadi Palace and had a brilliant relaxing holiday after a hectic xmas at home it was just what we needed. Went with my fiance and son, 11 year old. Weather was nice every day and service, grounds, food and everything could not be faulted. Tai resturant was excellent and booked to go there twice. Also Itallian and carabean were good at the Grand. If you are going to Egypt and the Red Sea area do not hesitate to book a week or two at the Makadi Palace! We spent our first Christmas ever out of Norway and had a fantastic time at this hotel. Everything turned out to be excellent, the food, service and atmosphere. We were two adults and two children and although the big pool was too cold to swim in now the children did not complain. I based my holiday booking on reports posted on this site, after all there is nothing better than other peoples comments to give you a true picture not a sales mans pitch. I took my daughter aged 27 and her friend aged 26 came along. The flight was on time, and we arrived in the early evening. we have just returned from a weeks holiday at makadi palace everything about this hotel brilliant we were a bit worried as we had read some scary reviews after booking it three weeks before we went.food was great in all a la carte restuarants you can still use facilities in makadi grand next door but they cant use ours.pool area very clean pool waitors were good for couple of pound tip you didnt have to move all day to get a drink.Rooms were comfy cleaned every day clean towels provided for pool or beach every night Animation was a bit dodgy... more

Just returned from a fantastic week at The Makadi Palace. Here's the run down from start to finish. Booked our holiday through Direct Holidays and we were supposed to be flying with MyTravel on Friday @ 9.30am. At Glasgow we boarded a Futura flight with NO entertainment for the 5hr 50mins flight. Plane was on time and food on plane was sufficient, staff on flight were pleasant enough.
