Le Consulat Ascend Collection Hotel

This is a great pre/post cruise hotel. We stayed a total of 5 nights at this hotel. The rate for a room with 2 queen beds was $126 per night + tax/fees. Rooms with 1 queen bed are usually $110 or less per night. + tax/fees. If you book directly with the hotel chain, you can get a discount using your AAA card. The room had a flat screen tv with limited channels in English (CNN, CBS, ABC, Fox, TNT, etc.), shower and desk. The hotel has a pool and jacuzzi. This is a fairly new, very very nice boutique hotel. Check in was fast and problem-free. They gave us a room on the first floor, next to the pool (which by the way, was very clean, warm and overall welcoming). NOTE: If you do not like small little brown lizards (they're harmless) or if bringing kids who might be terrified of them, do not accept a room on the first floor; you're bound to see one here and there which is common in many Caribbean islands. We stayed at this hotel on May 31st and were very pleased with the service and accomodations. It is a small boutique hotel located in the Condado area and very convenient to the shops and restaurants. There is a Walgreen's just around the corner if you've forgotten anything. The staff is very nice and let us check in when we arrived by 2 and rooms aren't to be ready until 3. Just ask. as they are happy to do anything for you. I stayed here with my boyfriend on May 6th-7th One night while in transit to Antigua. Very perfect for a quick stop! We really enjoyed our room and the location. We took a bus for 75 cents to Old San Juan and walked around...I highly recommend that! We were really impressed. We had the complimentary breakfast that was just a short walk down the street and it was in a very nice little cafe. There is also lots of shops and places to eat all within walking distance. I recently stayed at Le Consulat for one night, booked online at the hotel's website with little reviews or information to go by, but I was swayed that it is a new hotel for Puerto Rico so took the chance and did not regret it! Upon arrival at the small, boutique looking hotel that looked as if it was transplanted from South Beach I was impressed. Upon pulling up, we were surprised how nice this property looked. Upon entering, we were greeted with a smile from the nice gal in the lobby and found her to be very helpful in answering any of our questions. We opted for a room with patio which was on the first floor. The room was on the smallish side but very clean, and the nice secluded patio made the room seem larger. I originally had a reservation for the Coral Princess Inn and I wasn't loving it so I saw Le Consulat and I took a little tour of the hotel and I automatically knew that I would love it... And I sure did! The staff is great, the rooms are beautiful, and the art displays around the hotel and in the rooms are the best I've seen in any hotel. well..... I think I am the third guest to wrtie the review for "Le Consulat". I have to say, it is really new, but it is not that good! I went to Fajardo for a conference, and before that I stayed in Coral Princess Inn, which is just 2 doors next to "Le Consulat". I also wrote some review for them. I found "Le Consulat" pretty modern and new, so I decided to stay here after I came back from Fajardo. However, their computer is really really SLOW! I stayed this month (Feb. 08) in this small Clarion Collection hotel (called Le Consulat) nad let me tell you that it is in the middle of the Condado strip and it is Beautiful!!! And most importantly it is very very sexy, from the hotel French set-up, to the elegant rooms to even the staff who are very nice, very corteous and some of them are even as sexy as the hotel itself!!! Like I said, I loved it, I will go back definately, and I strongly recommend it to all of you!!!

I originally had reservations for "El Consulado" but when I got there the building was not there anymore and my reservation was forwarded to "Le Consulat". To my surprise this is a brand new hotel in condado and it's beautiful and really modern. The staff is great and everything is really clean and in it's proper place. I definately recomend this brand new, beautiful hotel to everybody, the location is great and the prices even better!!!!!
