I stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights of our holiday; the staff were so friendly and polite and couldn't do enough to help!
The room was spotlessly clean and every time the maids came they left a little gift on the bed e.g. chocolate and a little handmade boat!
We enjoyed relaxing days round the pool and on the beach it was excellent!
The only thing I would say is that the night time entertainment was way too loud and it did interrupt my sleep slightly, it was quite funny though we did have a good laugh when we sat in the bar!
I would recommend this hotel to everyone except young groups of people, as there is no night life in Camp De Mar.

Lovely bright hotel, fantastic beach, lovely pool, although we didn’t use it. Food very good and varied. We only stayed a long weekend, staff very friendly. Empty fridge in room?? We though water would have been an option. Plenty of Germans, so be warned, get up early for your sun bed! There is a notice though saying only beds can be reserved for 1 and half hours. Free wine and beer is not up to much, but you have many options. Entertainment on an evening varied, also children’s entertainment

Excellent hotel with spectacular views. Food was lovely and was always different. Accommodation was very clean with nice furnishings. Bars got a bit busy but after a walk there was plenty of space.
Outdoor facilities were excellent with the beach just on your doorstep, swimming pool had both a deep and shallow end. Cocktails were lovely. Perfect for families, friends or couples.

FIRSTLY, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT EVEN A MOMENT'S PEACE AND QUIET.
Good points:
Clean rooms, good standard.
Kids clubs excellent. Kids reps very enthusiastic.
Bad points:
Two main ones really.
Far, far too noisy - even for a family hotel. This hotel has a dedicated stage and sound system by the pool, right in the middle of the accommodation blocks. Music starts from around 11.00am in the morning and that’s pretty much it until
11.30pm. The sound is set way too high (most people sit no further than 10 metres from the stage yet the sound can be heard up to a quarter of mile away on the Pine Walk). If you don’t want your child to be awake until midnight every night (ours is 5 years old and normally a very good sleeper) it is virtually impossible for them to get to sleep until the entertainment stops - and bear in mind our room faced away from the pool, and was as far away as you could get from the sound system. Each accommodation block has an 'open' roof, the windows are normally open, as are the fire doors - so the sound carries everywhere. Add to this the noise of older kids playing in the accommodation blocks, which are tiled so their screams echo throughout, and you get the picture. I cannot stress too highly just how noisy this place is. Some people like it - but if you are looking at this website you want an honest opinion.
Secondly, sunbeds! The age-old thing. As usual there are not enough sunbeds when the resort is full so the towel game begins. Actually, I didn’t mind this as getting up early and sitting by the pool provided the only peace and quiet of the whole day to read (bear in mind that the hotel very kindly turn off the balcony lights late at night, I couldn’t find a way to override it, and this was the only other quiet time to read without disturbing wife or child in the apartment). More disturbing though is the lack of umbrellas for shade.
This is a family hotel and kids need protecting from the sun - Thomson should be ashamed of themselves for this. When my wife questioned this situation she was advised, "oh, they keep breaking". To top it off obviously the people that didn’t want to get up early complained so one morning we were treated to an absolutely pathetic outburst from one of the reps (you know who you are - failed DJ’) advising us that “the reps and management were sick of it, that they would throw any towels placed before 8.00am in a skip or chain the sunbeds up until 10.00am".
Well, all I can do is repeat my earlier comment - you should be ashamed of yourselves for not providing enough sunbeds and critically shade for kids. And the rep in particular should be taking his comments to his management, not directing them at the people he should be helping on their holiday. Pitiful.

we booked this hotel through thomson, who throughout our stay, we have to say, were unbelievably helpful and kind. it's just a shame that the hotel didn't do the tour operator justice. majorca is a great island, but if you're thinking of booking this hotel, think twice.
the hotel is completely geared up for german tourists, who make up around 90% of the guests. while the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, the only bar in the hotel was the bain of our time there. the bar staff were rude and obnoxious, not to mention slow. queueing for drinks took 20 minutes and when you did finally get served, the staff treated you like a pain in the neck. the other english guests we spoke to seemed to agree with us, but from what we could tell, the staff seemed fine with the other nationalities staying there.
on our fourth day, the bar staff even insulted us loudly and publicly, calling us stupid after we asked to borrow a tray to carry our own drinks to our room. after we complained to the management about their behaviour, nothing was done and little in the way of an apology was offered. the staff in question were back the following day, serving drinks and happily laughing away with each other, making another visit to the bar awkward and uncomfortable. so uncomfortable in fact, that we had to ask our thomson rep to get us a different hotel for the rest of our 11 day stay.
thomson came up trumps and by way of compensation, booked us in to a fabulous hotel across the island on the east coast called the coma gran in the resort of sa coma. they organised not one, but two studio apartments for us and our 6 year old daughter, on the top floor of the hotel with wonderful views across the bay. the hotel was just what the doctor ordered, geared up for the british, with great reps and wonderful staff.
the beach was delightful, with white sand and turquoise ocean, a far cry from the garbage ridden, crowded and limited coastline at camp de mar. the hotel was spotless and the food was first class. in the end, thanks to thomson, we had a wonderful holiday, but we felt unusually compelled to write this review to warn other brits of the hotel camp de mar and its brit-hating bar staff.
don't book it. if you're british and you've got kids, book the coma gran instead. you won't regret it.
