Knutsford Court Hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Knutsford Court for 3 weeks in January 2005. We found it to be clean, safe and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and courteous especially Craig. Would have preferred full breakfast rather than continental. I had a junior Suite which was adequate for my needs but pillows in room awful in fact very "flat". There is a taxi driver called shaggy (Movie Star) whom should be avoided as he charged me $1500 (JD) to go to Constant Springs shopping mall (5 mins) and wait whilst I went into shop to collect goods.... more

Enough computers to touch base with my job and pick up emails. The continental breakfast was all fairly good. I did not have a problem with the bed, but I hated the pillows (they were flat at most places we stayed at Jamaica - except the private villas (nice and big)). Stayed 3 nights the end of December '04. Friendly staff, clean room. We felt safe at this hotel, however we did questoin the effectiveness of the security guard at the gate since he just let anyone in and out. Yes, my first sentence may seem contradictory, but there is a wall around the entire hotel. We had breakfast and lunch here; not bad, nothing to scream about. The lobby or pool area was never crowded, quiet place. Biggest complaint. THE BEDS SUCK!

We were pleasantly surprized, my wife and I at the oasis we found here. Very tropical feel and really nice staff. The bar and restaurant are the best features. We loved our suite with the kitchen. A great place to stay on a reasonable budget

On our recent visit to Jamaica we stayed at the Knutsford Court Hotel, which was highly recommended to us. It was perfect for us (a family of 5)! We stayed in one of the 2-bedroom townhouses which had a full kitchen, living room, private courtyard, and most important, televisions with cable for the children in practically every room!The townhouse was exceptionally clean and tidy...and kept that way by the staff. I had my worst ever hotel stay out of six trips to Kingston here. The bar staff were unwelcoming and always wanting to keep the change from drinks that I collected from the bar. The "hangers on" lingering around the pool area were downright unpleasant and security at the gate seemed to wave anybody through. Top of the list was a 'resident' taxi driver who called himself "Shaggy" who charged me £8 to take me to the end of the road one evening (2 mins drive max) so I could buy a beer and cigarettes on the street as the bar was closed. I stayed at the Knutsford for three weeks and it was the most relaxing and comfortable place I've been too. After long hours out,I just went in on evenings or nights order room service(excellent staff and the food is great) and just relax in my room. The whole outlook of the hotel is beautiful..the grounds are fabulous with with lots of trees and flowers,have a nice pool where you can go and just relax,the restaurant is very nicely set, the surroundings is peaceful and serene. We stayed here recently, largely as a result of this internet recommendation. The hotel has been renovated and re-named the Knutsford Court and is a great place to relax after the hustle and bustle of Kingston. We have never met friendlier staff especially at reception; the rooms are well appointed and comfortable; the restaurant bright and airy. The pool is small and with no shade but nevertheless very welcoming after the dust and heat of the city. I first traveled to Kingston, Jamaica in 1989. I was lucky to find Sutton Place Hotel. I have been there over 7 times for a stay, and I must say I love it...not only the accomodations, but the staff too ! Mr Gardner, the G.M. is a wonderful, caring and kind person. He always makes sure the guests are comfortable. Although it is not as "fancy" as the Pegusus, or others that have sprung up, it has everything I need to be comfortable.
