This was the best hotel I have been to.Rooms are comfortable and very beautiful.Beds are comfortable.Food is amazing.So many kinds of fruits and salads you can not count.Staff get you anything you want,even if not on the menue.Ground are beautiful.The place is classy.French restaurant not open yet but others are good and can get you great stakes or fish.Wine selection mainly from Chili but tasty.Cabanas are every where and no shortage of chairs anywhere.Beach is great.Tennis lessons are included.Golf course nearby is included.they take you... more

Just returned from a week at Grand Bavaro. I booked through Apple and flight and transfers from Cincinnati went smoothly. It takes 25 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. There is a lot of construction still going on at the hotel but they do good job at minimizing its impact on the guests. Food, service and hotel itself are excellent. There were only about 80 guests while I was there and only a portion of one of the three hotel guest room wings were open. We booked ib dominicana with first choice and negoiated direct with hotel direct to upgrade to grand for second week.Was it worth the $. yes.Is there still construction. We booked a one week, AI stay at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro in Punta Cana, DR. The reason why we decided to book this particular hotel is due to our vacation last year where we stayed at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Our experience at the Grand in Mexico (It was one of our best holidays ever) was our sole reason for booking this hotel in Punta Cana. Upon arriving at the Punta Cana airport, you will be charged $10 for a temporary VISA then 10 steps ahead of you; a man scans it and throws it away. Gee, money well spent! It is confusing at the airport so make sure you know which transfer counter you are set up with, for example we were Fun Jet and the Fun Jet counter was NOT easily identified while others were. Arrival- Greeted with champagne and pina coladas. Check-in was very easy and a pleasant process. I actually felt like a princess because of the way my husband and I were treated. There was a butler who escorted us to our room. Room- It was very clean and neat. It has a plasma TV. The balcony has such a pleasant view of the courtyard. The resort was open three weeks when we arrived. There were about 30 guest staying there at the time and about 60 when we had left at the end of the week. My husband and I have never been treated so good in our entire life. The staff was exceptionally friendly and over the top helpful. Everything was very proper and they did they best to treat you like a king and queen. This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. As soon as you check in you are greeted with a glass of champaigne or pina colada. The staff is so friendly. The food is 5 star quality. The decor is beautiful. We had our own personal butler who got us anything we needed. The beach is clean and set back a little from the water so you don't have people walking the beach all around you. If lucky enough to be enjoying the Ibersotar Grand Hotel's beach, you will be inevitably asked by many, "What hotel is this?" "Is it new?" Well, I fully understand the curiosity because Iberostar has raised the bar for Punta Cana and especially all-inclusive resort here and throughout the Caribbean. They truly understand what luxury is... simple, clean, soothing, spacious... all that describe this 299-room hotel that could so easily have accommodated another few hundred rooms. I am writing this to let people know that I toured this hotel Nov 8th and it was not close to ready. It is going to be an absolutely beautiful resort, but even if it opens in December, I would give it a couple months to work out the kinks. There is a huge ship that was built in the middle of the property and I was told that this will have a club inside. The rooms all appeared to have jacuzzi tubs that are surrounded by glass and you can look outside. I have a few pictures I took, that I will post. Please email me if you have anymore questions.
