Grupotel Molins

This Hotel is one of the few that I have actually returned to. The location is second to non - if you like quite holidays! It is situated close to a small sandy bay, which though can be busy (it seems to be very popular with the Majorcans) there is still plenty of room! Be aware that there is a charge of €7 for the hire of sun loungers. The ones by the pool are free of course. The food is great - plenty of variety, but not such a big of the glazed sticky sweets! We wanted a hotel that could offer four star comfort in a quiet location. The Hotel Molins did not disappoint. Although from the 1960's genre of Spanish hotel design we found the Molins to be welcoming with good size, clean bedrooms. Most have baclonies and sea-views. The room had a large bathroom. I have just returned from two very good weeks in Calle San Vincenc. The hotel, which has been built for about forty years is well placed in the small village. It has prime position in Molins bay, which is the best bay of four small bays in this quiet resort. Our stay was in a very comfortable room with a good balcony that overlooked the sea. We visited the Grupotel Molins recently, and my husband and I enjoyed our stay. The objective of the holiday was to have a couple of quiet weeks in the sun, and we were very much aware that Cala Sant Vicenc is a small and quiet resort, but with lovely scenery. We booked a suite, knowing that the weather could be iffy at that time of year, and if we wanted to read a book in the room, we would be able to do it in comfort. Hotel is somewhat dated but the bedrooms are of a good size comfortable and clean but you need to ensure you have a front seaview room. We are a middle aged discerning professional couple who want reasonable comfort , good food and a decent pool and beach. This is a medium/small hotel, which was full when we stayed there for 10 days. We had thought that there would be very few young children, as this hotel is defiintely not geared up for them - no child food/sittings in restaurant, no child pool, no childrens club etc. In the event, there were a substantial number of school age children - which would not have been a problem except the swiming pool is very small and old fashioned (it almost certainly was installed when the hotel was built in the 1960's). We spent three nights in ths hotel last week (then another three in Palma). We were worried before we got there but we loved every minute. It has so many returning guests that, if asked, will regale one with many reasons for their loyalty, The setting is idyllic and the staff helpful. we have just returned from a two week break at the Hotel Molins. The Hotel Looks nice From The Outside and is overlooking a small beach, which gets VERY VERY BUSY. We had to carry our cases into the hotel as there isnt a porter which is no good if your elderley as the people we arrived with were.we then had to wait for nealy an hour for our rooms.one couple we spoke to had to wait three hours for their room so be prepared.when we were given our key we were made to find our own way to our rooms. When we arrived at the hotel we were very disappointed and members of my family wanted to leave. However by the time we left we loved it. The lobby and some of the corridors are a bit like a bunker....They are very dark as the hotel is build on a hill and has limited windows. However the rooms are bright, basic, comfortable and spacious and enjoy beautiful views. As i am vegetarian the restaurant was limited but the chef was very good and prepared us vegetarian food. I have just returned from a lovely holiday. The Grupotel Molins is set with idyllic surroundings, with a side sea view of the small but sweet beach and the dramatically but entrancing mountains behind said beach. The sea is calm and a light turquoise colour, with plenty of small fish swimming around for keen snorklers. A perfect location for a lovely holiday. The hotel itself is very nice.
