Have previously stayed in this hotel before and was really looking forward to staying here again only this time we would be taking our 16month old son, so after reading reviews on here was slightly worried that it had turned into some rowdy party hotel!! Accomodation- rooms... more

beautiful location
Stayed here for a week in september. i totally disagree with the other comments. I had wonderful holiday here. Rooms fine, with room service everyday, only missed once in the week i stayed. very close to amusements and shops. Nissi beach close by as is the huge waterpark which mustbe visited.simply get bus beside hotel. pool was large with smaller one for children which was used for watergames at times. dj playing music, suitable for all ages during day while you are sun bathing. poolbar serves lovely food with alot of choice. Hotel built about200yrds from a small quiet beach which was stunning. Hotel reception staff were not always pleasant when approached, but the enterainment staff made up for it. good hotel for families and couples
Never again, basic hotel, rude staff and horrid food.....BUDGET HOTEL
Where do I start? Booked this hotel after reading and comparing many reviews on Tripadvisor, well something must have changed...The Thalassaki Tourist Village is certainly not a 4 star hotel. I would class as a good 2 poor 3 star. Food, extremely poor choice in a make shift restaurant with wild cats free to walk in and out as pleased, bad anough for a week but repeated the second week so ended up eating out alot. Snack Bar by the pool, this served snacks whilst the so called restaurant was closed. ( Snack bar food was sometimes more edable than the restaurant food). The first week of our two week ordeal you couldn't say were rude but how they made up for it in the second week. Rude, Awkward and Arrogant. A cheese and ham sandwich was available on the all inclusive menu but as I don't eat meat I asked for no ham, this was fine for the first week but then I was informed I would have to pay if I didn't want ham?! Strange I know but that's the staff for you. My husband spoke to the manager as we thought this was unreasonable ( after all, if they have no proble the first week what changed?) Well in a way I wish he hadn't. The manager couldn't understand why the staff wanted to charge but the staff where extremely rude after that event and left our food to go cold at the end of the bar before informing us it was ready. Entertainment staff...Well on a budget they tried. Was hit or miss. A kiddies disco was advertised at 9pm which my daughter looked forward to everyday but the girl entertainer couldn't be bothered and on some occastions simply didn't go ahead. Not very well organised but then the full hotel appeared to be on a budget. We didn't pay to stay in a budget hotel but ubfortunately this is what we received. Talking to guests who have stayed in previous years comments have been made that the hotel has changed and thay simply don't care any more. Well frankly IT SHOWS. Glad to be home.
Dreadful place!
Just come home having booked this resort due to good reviews on this site. Not very impressed. Arrived 2am and was given map to find own room then struggled up two flights stairs with cases and kids (I was lone female). All inclusive meant tepid food cooked from frozen, cheap drinks served in half filled platic cups served by rude staff. Entertainment was hit and miss and severely lacking, the first night invoved women having to run round and kiss as many men as possible. Accomodation was so basic it had no comfort at all. This place is cheap cheap cheap. The only redeeming feature of this holiday was the other guests we met.
Booked it based on the reviews here....
which made it sound fantastic. The truth of the matter is that Hellenic Voyages sell it as a 5* which it blatantly is not. This is a 3* hotel with nice big studio apartments, 2 lovely pools and a nice family atmostphere, equidistance from nightlife and Nissi beach. If you have ever stayed at the Anmaria next door it is very similar in standard, but the rooms are better. During my stay the Sauna, jacuzzi and indoor pool were broken and not looking likely to get fixed. The maids came on an ad hoc basis although the place was kept reasonably clean. The food and the entertainment were repeated on the second week which was also a bit disappointing. Saying this I did have a lovely holiday, as I always do in Ayia Napa. As stated by another reviewer there is some discontent amongst the staff over lower pay due to the influx of eastern European workers, but if going all inc. it may be worth remembering to tip even if you aren't actually paying for a drink (Which incidentally are all watered down!). Would say the mix of people is 70% North of England with the other 30% from South of England, Wales, Ireland, Germany & Holland
Great Hotel, Briliant Holiday!!
Booked with Hellenic Voyages, and must say as I had book for me my Husband our 2 boys aged 8 and 12 and my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law I was a little worried it had to suit everyone and different ages and it certainly did. Must say had a lovely, lovely time. Hotel was great, very very clean, staff were helpful and food was gorgeous! Hellenic Rep was great really helpful. Cyprus was lovely never been before and can't wait to go back love to go back to the Thalassaki Village. Really enjoyed it. My in-laws are well travelled they go away 2-3 times a year, and they really loved it too.
Brilliant!
Booked with Hellenic Voyages 6 weeks prior to departure. Was rather sceptical to say the least as kids have not been abroad before. Totally amazing place. The hotel is gorgeous, food is excellent ( we did the all inclusive, but some self catering apartments are available) pool is wonderful, maids in every day the clean, all in all we had a great time. The kids were occupied either swimming or playing football, volleyball etc with the hotels entertainers. No kids clubs as such, but still loads to do. It's very much a family orientated hotel, not many groups of singles - which was just fine by us. Ayia Napa is lovely - very scary after about midnight for the kids as there's lots of drunk people around, but up till then it's fine. Loads of interesting places to eat, plenty of excursions, boat trips, water sports etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Ayia Napa. and can't wait to go back there.
Excellent location, great place to stay in Ayia Napa!!!!
I stayed at the Thalassaki holiday village in July 2006 and thought it was excellent. I went with my fiance and i would say that thalassaki was most suited to families and couples. There wasn't very many groups of lads or lasses which we were pleased about (i think that this is because the apartments are a 15minute walk into the square-the main nightlife and because young groups of people would stay somewhere cheaper than the thalassaki!) The room (studio) was big with a small kitchen which was clean but we didn't use (even though we were self catering) as their are so many nice place's to eat in Ayia Napa. The room was cleaned every day and the pool area was also very well maintained! Overall the Thalassaki is an excellent place to stay and it is in a great location if you dont mind walking 15 minutes to the main night life but also prefer to get some sleep on a night time!!
Great
Stayed here in June 2003 - excellent location, nice big clean apartment, nice surroundings.
Brilliant holiday in average accomodation
Just back from a fabulous week in the sun in Cyprus with my finace we loved Aiya Napa - although had been before so knew what to expect. there is heaps to do - it has something for everyone - don't be put off by the party image - it has lots more to offer besides that (and it is always there if you want it!) Thalassaki was in a perfect location - a short walk to the busy square area but also had the benefit of lots of nice bars and restaurants on the doorstep. If you want to see some of the local sites - the sea caves (you can do a cliff dive if you feel brave) drive through a national park and see some stunning scenary and have a wee adventure at the same time - I strongly recommend recommend you take a quad tour with the Mousa travel agency not far from the hotel. Brilliant! The accomodation was average - perfectly clean and had everything we needed so it did what it said on the tin - nothing to complain about - it suited our requirements. If you are looking for a bit of luxuary tho - this place isn't for you. You have to be quick in the shower! - it kept switching to scalding hot - spent the whole time in there jumping in and out. Would have been a nightmare if we had kids with us. It wasn't just our apartment - another couple we got chatting to said theirs was the same. The pool area was lovely- not too many sun loungers tho - so get out earlyish to get one. The entertainment staff worked really hard to try to keep everyone occupied - water polo, aqua aerobics etc... The staff in general were really lovely and helpful - apart from one grumpy barman. The beach in front of the accomodation is not great very rocky - i wouldn't sunbathe there (although there were sun loungers if you wanted to) - instead just use it to access the coastal path to walk to one of the other beaches nearby. Overall we had a great holiday - hope you do to!
Loved Thalassaki
I fully recommend staying at the Thalassaki. Apartments are a good size, cleaned regularly, plenty of sunbeds, friendly staff, great location. You are within walking distance of all the restaurants etc and far enough away that you are never bothered by noise. Thalassaki is a great place for all ages and groups.
