I have stayed at the Thalasaki 3 times before this trip in Aug 2010 which says it all really, good day time activities for kids and adults, some nightime entertainment.
BUT - this hotel has changed hands and they have stopped the daytime activities and nightime stuff in favour of attracting 18-30 types who are allowed to run riot and play in the pool from 4.30am - 7am without being moved on.
We complained and were moved (eventually - TC rep Tom was very poor) to the Tsokkos Paradise which while further out is newer and much more family friendly.
Shame about the Thalasaki as this is a great location with a great pool. We wont be back there though.

Went here from 30th June to 14th July with my 3 friends all aged 20/21. We had a great holiday here, very rarely did we go round to the pool as we sunbathed out on the grass at our apartment was like a private party :) we had a good few parties and not 1 person complained so that was good. we also had a sea view which was lovely. the food at the pool bar was really nice and reasonable! The location of the hotel was nice only a 5/10 min walk to the strip and about 20mins back when ur drunk lol not that far!! We made friends with the people in garys bar just along from the hotel as we went ther about 11/14 days for our toastie and chips mmm. food overall in ayia napa was nice and reasonable, drink was not bad for price except in the clubs were it was 5 euro for a sex on the beach!! not much else to say except it was a great holiday and were bookin up for here next august for my birthday :)

We have just arrived back from a one week stay at Thalassaki Village Ayia Napa. We are a couple in our (early) 50's and thoroughly enjoyed our half board stay there. We would recommend Half board in Cyprus these days as eating out is very expensive and the Aphrodite Restaurant at the Thalasski though not a huge choice always had something different and absolutely no sign of a chip or french fry all week! Plus the quality of the food was good and the service (i know its self service!)but i mean the clearing of the plates/dishes etc was very efficient. Breakfasts were a bit samey but for evening dinner there was always a nice soup which was different each night and for mains usually there was a Pasta dish a Rice dish and a Vegetable dish together with chicken pork beef or fish & lots of cold salads to choose from. The sweets were a little less imaginative but they dont do puds abroad like we Brits do!
The accommodation was also exceptional, everywhere seemed to have been recently decorated inside and out,
large flat screen TV, fridge, balcony and comfy beds plus catering facilities if required completed the side sea view apartment
All the staff were very friendly and helpful there were plenty of sunbeds and the 3 pools were brilliant
The gardens and hedges were beautiully well kept plus the large carpark at the side was useful when we hired a car for a few days.
This complex is ideally situated within a few minutes walking distance of the clubs and the lovely harbour and a 25 minute walk from Nissi beach
The only down side we felt was that there was no entertainment at all here and therefore lacking in atmosphere at night though since there is so much going on elsewhere this was no real problem
Our stay was from 20/6/10 - 27/6/10
We would definately recommend Thalassaki

We as a group of 12 have been going to Thalassaki for 9 years, no complaints, staff nice if your nice - manners cost nothing, cleaners very helpful & always about to help, clean bedding everyday clean towels everyday, room cleaned everyday, pool clean, you get what you expect - a holiday in the sun, why would you want internet - tv or any other home comforts ?? YOU'RE ON HOLIDAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you don't like holiday destinations - STAY AT HOME ??? There are so many places to eat out at we have never used the dining room but some family did and had no complaints they always recieved fresh food at breakfast & plenty.
We will continue to return every year until we are too old to do so, that's a mighty long way off ;-) we're all young at heart.

a group of 12, two families and two couples. stayed at thalassaki beach apartments from 1st october - 14th october 2009. this is a review on the hotel itself.
lets get the positives in first.. apartments - clean, good air con, flat screen tele.
pools - 3 of them, each well cleaned every morning. access to beach - only a 30 second walk. vicinity to clubs, pubs, shops and attractions - brilliant, rite slap bang in the middle of it all, far enough away from the busiest part of aiya napa but plenty near by.
ok now the negatives, and bearing in mind, we read all the reviews about this place in anticipation of our arriving there, and the reviews were mixed but we'd thought we'd see for ourselves. apartments - badly needing updated, they are all decorated in some pale green colour, basically looks like they havent upgraded it from the 70's! cooker was crap and fridge didnt cool the beers at all! i didnt bother about a key for my room cos i could open it easily with a little shoulder press, so easy to break into.
poolside or family entertainment - vasso was his name and basically all games were aimed at teens or adults, you get killer pool, darts, bingo, catch a ball in a cup, volleyball and that was it, the entertainment in the evening was... nothing. vasso is a nice guy but the entertainment wasnt for families with young kids. if your not one for activities then vasso gets the message and doesnt try to get you involved.
hotel staff - hmmm, i felt sorry for the one immigrant worker who basically manned the bars from morning til nite, on her own. we would some times wait 15 mins to be served a drink in the evening with cues of ten or more waiting at the bar, she never got any help. the reception staff - pretty girls but very patronising, unhelpful and clueless. and im not just saying that, one of the families who came with us, was told by the reception lady that their child was "too active""and always running about" when she slipped on the tiled floor of their room when the air con had leaked. i too asked why they had only one bar staff on when there was at least 15 people waiting to get served, she raised her hands and said "what can i do" and shrugged it off. it really brought it home the level of customer care they had for us when on our jourmey home and the bus stopping to pick up other holiday makers we witnessed the hotel staff at other hotels hugging them goodbye and wishing them to return. the staff at thalasaki didnt even ask how our stay was, or did we enjoy it or even a goodbye! on a whole, only vasso and one bar waitress smiled at us, the rest were.... well they always seemed to be frowning rather than smiling.
we wnet self catering so cant comment on the food. but the price of drinks at the hotel were shocking, 4 euros for a cocktail or a beer, 3 euros for a juice, you didnt get much change from 20 euros for 4 drinks. i suppose the weak pound has a lot to do with it. we bought in alcohol from the supermarkets and drank poolside at nights when we returned home from our evening ventures.
the only thing that took the shine of our holiday was the hotel and the way it was run.

we stopped at the thalassaki hotel apartments and they were realy clean they are a 5-10 minute away from the main square. there are loads of good bars up in the square. if you are self catering i advise you to try gary's bar and grill from the thalasakki you come up the drive and turn right and its on your right about 100 yards up the road. last year we stopped at stavrolia hotel apartments and they were scruffy and you had to walk 2 kilometres to the square about 45 minute walk. but this time we have stoped at the perfect hotel for us. there is 1 entertainment man in the day at the hotel and he plays water volleyball, volleyball, penalty shootout, aqua arobics and lots more. last year we tried the dragon chinese and it was realy nice but we did not go there this year. No problem with insects just ants but what do you expect your in a different country. overall i give the hotel 10/10. i advise the hotel to anyone!

We stay at the Thalassaki Beach Village 2 or maybe 3 times every year for our holidays and i have to contradict with others comments regarding how they are unimpressed with their stay.
Not only is the hotel in a fabulous position, it is spacious and the staff are friendly and all round the hotel is just fab.
Fair enough it is not what you would call "posh" but it is clean and comfortable and i cannot see whatelse anyone is after.
I do not stop at hotels for food as enjoy going to the restaurants and pubs in Ayia Napa. (especially, Nikitas Restaurant in the Square, The Square Pub, Golden Arrow and Napa Star Inn.) So i cannot comment on the food situation.
The views from the hotel are great - whether it be a pool or beach view. The beach is beautiful and is lovely to see when you wake up on a morning, and even if you are over looking the pool - it is a lovely pool and has a great atmosphere.
On the subject of cockroaches and ants - you are in a foreign country - it is what you have to expect.
It could do with a lick of paint, however i could never call the Thalassaki dirty as it is anything but - it is just a basic room to stay in and i am quite happy staying there (obviously with the amount of time which i have been.)
I would recommend the Thalassaki to anyone! Elderly people are welcome there - my grandparents both really enjoy it. And also younger people - and children!
I am looking forward to going back in exactly 26 days!

We were a party of 8 , consisting of 4 over 40 adults and 4 of the ages 22,20,18 & 17....We went to the Thalassaki ALL INCLUSIVE from July 10th - July 24th...
Before I begin I would just like to say that this hotel is strictly meant for the 18 - 25 year olds as to be perfectly honest it is soley used for a base for sleeping in as you will see by my report below.
I have give each category a score out of 10 with its own report , then you can decide for yourselves...
FLIGHT & TRANSFERS : 9/10 ...These were 1st class and apart from a very quiet driver got to the Hotel with no fuss at all..
THE HOTEL ITSELF : 8/10 ...Very clean and tidy and the grounds very neat and well looked after...
THE STAFF : 3/10 ...No English staff ( mostly from the Slovakian region ) and spoke very limited English and had huge difficulties getting them to understand...
THE FOOD : 2/10 ...Very poor indeed. Breakfast consisted of mostly Fry ups which were dried up on a regular basis with a couple of cereals , Dinner was very repetative with only the one choice of sweet ( water melon ) and Lunch ( which was the best ) had theme nights but on occassions was very poorly cooked with very limited choice . Did not feel like the choices were anywhere near adequate for ALL INCLUSIVE !!!
ENTERTAINMENT : 2/10 ...Whilst we were there , only 1 Entertainment team member most of the time ( Sandra ) poor girl. Daytime activities very limited as hardly anyone wanted to get involved as most were still in bed from the previous evenings night clubs in Ayai Napa. Evening entertainment was particularily poor which consisted of 1 game of bingo followed by Karaoke which no one really bothered with as most went out to better venues.
ROOMS : 7/10 ...Pretty big and spacious with Air Con , however our Air Con wasnt working particularily good but we found just about sufficient. Also be prepared for a visit from the cockroaches and ants.
INTERNET FACILITY : 3/10 ...Had 5 terminals near reception that were always under repair.
BEACH & VIEW : 1/10 ... OH DEAR !!! What beach and what view ! . The view of the Sea is about all you will get as the beach is mostly all rocks but the view between the hotel and the sea resemble something from a building site ! . Nearest beach was about a 15 min walk away turning right to a place called Sandy Bay..Nissi Beach and Fig Tree Bay beaches are the highlight ( both bus rides away ).
ALL INCLUSIVE VALUE : 1/10 ...A joke really. Snack bar near the pool had the only decent food and drinks and these had to be PAID for by everyone including the ALL INCLUSIVE guests. Unlimited ice creams and water the only value. Seemed the Self Catering guests got as good a value if not better.
WEATHER : 10/10 ...Very warm and always between 30 and 40 deg.
CYPRUS PRICES : 5/10 ...Quite expensive now since being in the Euro..
OVERALL HOTEL SCORE : 2/10 ...Very Disappointing !!
AFTER ALL THIS THERE ARE SOME GOOD POINTS ALTHOUGH THESE ARE OUTSIDE THE HOTEL GROUNDS AND ARE OBVIOUSLY ADDED ONTO YOUR ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE.
For evening entertainment we went to TOMMYS BAR ( out hotel at reception , turn right ) , most nights had something different on which followed the very well organised Karaoke. Always a great night had and you must attend the Hypnotist show ( Aaron Lodge ) and the Michael Jackson tribute show ( Jo Jo ) .Elvis show was also ok if youve had plenty to drink lol.
The Waterpark , although quite pricey at £30 each , was absolutely amazing.
Beaches to visit would be Nissi Beach and my favourite was Fig Tree Bay at Protaras.
There are plenty of watersports in these areas which my family dis , ie Jet skiing £40 for 15 mins and Paragliding £70 for 20 mins , pretty good value....
We also hired a car for 2 days which cost £80 inclusive of insurance , and drove to the Troodos Mountains the 1st day which was great only dont forget to fill up with petrol BEFORE you go as its quite a drive with very few petrol stations when you get up there.
Needless to say though , unfortunately we would NOT be returning to Cyprus in the near future !!

My boyfriend and I (both 23) spent one week in ayia napa at thalassaki 9th to 16th of May and had a fantastic time. The hotel is clean and spacious, we had a ground floor studio room with a lovely patio. We did not get any bugs, cockroaches in the our room which has being mentioned in previous reviews,it was spotless. The maids came in every day to clean the room and change towels. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel has its own mini market which was reasonably priced. The complex is quite large with 3 different pools; a large main pool, one that has volleyball and a childrens pool. The atmosphere during the day was relaxed, with a mixture of family groups, some with children and couples. If you walk down out of the back of the complex the hotel has its own private beach which was peaceful but quite rocky.
The only thing that really let the hotel down was that the entertainment on a night was quite poor, though it did not bother us too much as we headed out every night.
The hotel is in a fantastic location. about a 15 minute walk to the main square where there are plenty of bars or if you turn left out of the complex it is about an half an hout walk to the main Nissi beach which i would definatley recommend going to! The weather was really hot everyday we did not want to come home!

We finally arrived at the hotel after driving up the street a few times looking for the car park that isn’t sign posted. The hotel complex looks lovely, the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, all with air-conditioning and we were lucky enough to have a large balcony. The layout of the complex is great with a baby pool, large swimming pool, a volleyball pool and plenty of sun beds around the edge.
Unfortunately our toilet had a blockage when we arrived and when we reported it we was told to wait until the following morning as it wasn’t and emergency because we could use the hotels public toilets. I have 2 children under 10 and wasn’t impressed with having the take them for a 10 minute walk in the early hours of the morning to use the public toilets. We also had to specifically ask the maids to clean our room as they wouldn’t come otherwise.
The food was limited to chicken, rice, chips, another potato meal and a meal of the chefs’ choice, all of which were over spiced and non edible for the children, they then informed us we could choose a children’s meal which wasn’t all inclusive but the manager allowed us to have them as all inclusive. The all inclusive bar snacks were a choice of 6 snacks only, some of them wasn't what they said they'd be or wasn't cooked properly.
We were told on the website that the hotel had children’s animation team all day and a massage room too. There was no massage and certainly nothing for the children to do, except play in the pool. The evening’s entertainment was one man dancing to some children’s songs for half hour before the show started at 9pm for the adults, the magic act we saw on the first night was fantastic but the singer the second night wasn’t very good at all.
About 95% of the staff are Slovakian and spoke very poor English; they got our orders wrong on several occasions and even served alcoholic cocktails to my friend’s children.
I would only recommend this hotel for the rooms and the pool. I definitely will NOT be going back there again.

Have previously stayed in this hotel before and was really looking forward to staying here again only this time we would be taking our 16month old son, so after reading reviews on here was slightly worried that it had turned into some rowdy party hotel!!
Accomodation- rooms are very basic but clean and the only problem we had were a few ants, as we were on the ground floor. They could do with updating a little bit, but the fact that air consitioning is included was fabulous!!!
Round the pool through the day there was a mixture of families, young groups, and a couples of all ages, it was never too rowdy, the only thing we noticed was when we were coming back on a night there were people messing about in the pool but they were not over noisy and didnt prevent us going to bed or putting little one to bed.
The hotel is in a great spot as it is far enough away from the square you dont get any noise from it, but it is close enough for you to walk to if you need to.
We went self catering and only had chips or drinks in the hotel so cannot really comment on the food
All in all we really enjoyed our time at the Thalasakki and would definatley return
There are some great bars and restaurants around the hotel, right next door is one called Passagio which was fantastic value for money, lovely staff, Garys bar for a breakfast is a must, and the queen vic bar down near the harbour had entertainment and such lovely bar staff!!
