Hotel Miramar

I really liked this hotel. For the budget traveler this hotel is perfect. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach and the main strip of hotels on Ashford Ave. You would have to run across some streets that are exit ramps from the highway but it is passable. I have walked this stretch at 10pm and felt safe. Lots of police presence makes you feel safe. The immediate neighborhood is nice, filled with small stores, oharmacy, and a supermarket 2 blocks away. Though the hotel ha no pool there is a nice sun deck on the roof giving you nice veiws.... more

We stayed here a few weeks ago for 2 nights. My wife and I and our 2 year old enjoyed our stay..(pre cruise). My little boy loved playing with the birds behind the lobby. The foods next door was good. Nice central location. Re Taxis: Always get a rate PRIOR to leaving the Hotel....we took 3 trips to Old San Juan and had 3 different rates 7.00/10.00/18.00...cruise ship port is about 2 miles away

We stayed at Miramar Hotel for one night and, thankfully, we were only there for a night. In inspecting the room, I found a couple of hairs on the bed sheets and noticed that the comforter had stains on them so we slept without the comforter on. The room was large and did have a refrigerator, however, the refrigerator was not working properly. The breakfast which is included is a joke, a couple of slices of cold toast, old coffee sitting in a coffee pot and some cold cereal. This hotel during the whole course of our stay was the worst hotel experience i ever had. we booked 2 rooms in this hotel ahead of time but as soon as we arrived, there was no room available for us. The hotel manager/ owner has the WORST attitude.The standard room can have max of 4 persons, but the built in individual water heater can only provide hot water good for 2 persons. The room isnt clean and room service is worst. Twice our room was not cleaned although you already put a maid service request for clean up. The free breakfast?... more

Stayed at Hotel Miramar for four nights this February. The hotel is located in what can be characterized as the business district of San Juan. The area has a couple of good restaurants. Not a bad location, Condado Beach is about 5 min. walk, you will need a car or cab to go to Isla Verde/San Juan. You can also take a bus to Old San Juan from the front of the hotel (50 cents) - about a 10 min. ride. If you have a car, you can easily park it at the hotel. i stayed at a place call miramar hotel..it was horrible the way i see it ..specially when when to check in ..management deal with a guy on trainning and a girl also on trainning...i dont think that was proffecional...then the owner of the hotel came and call attention on this two youngs prospect..afeter a little while i notice when i came down to the lobby that one of the front desk was fired by the owner ,,,waooo ,, anyway thta was sad to see it...i will never go to a hotel like that no more...and for the price that they ask forget it... more

Stayed at the Hotel Miramar in San Juan on October 13-15, 2006 Our stay was very enjoyable. Checking in was easy dispite the new tax law that started on October 1,2006. The staff was helpful, friendly and NICE ! I would diffently stay at this quaint hotel again.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days during the month of July... the hotel is in a good location if you have a car because Old San Juan and San Juan a pretty close by. Otherwise I would not walk around the neighborhood where the hotel is located because it looks pretty abandoned. on the other hand, the hotel stay was good for the first day but then we noticed a turn around regarding the night staff at this hotel. I stayed here for 2 nights on trip for my class reunion. My room was bigger than I had expected with lots of drawer space. View thru window was bad but I did not come to PR to look out my window INSIDE a hotel room. Microwave and mini-fridge was great to have and free-breakfast even better. Room was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful when needed. I would have prefered to have internet connectivity IN the room, instead of having to go to lobby sitting area for the wireless. We got a great deal on this room and only paid $60 a night via Sky Auction. Other than that I would not have paid more than $100 per night for this place. I am giving it an average rating based on what we paid. The hotel is not a place to hang out. It is only good for a shower and sleep after touring the city. We stayed here for 2 days only, and went to 4 star hotels the remainder of our 5 days. The room itself was dark and dinghy, but the bathroom was very clean.
