Hotel Imperial

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week in Garda. We stayed in the Imperial Hotel and we found it excellent. It was spotless. We didn't have a pool view room but it was great. If you are familiar with Italian dining you know that the starters are soup or pasta and the main course is smaller, so it is ridiculous to make an issue of this (as a previous review did). We are a party of four adults who have just returned from a wonderful week in the Hotel Imperial in Garda. On check in ,we were greeted with a complimentary glasss of wine-a nice touch. Our twin rooms were perfectly comfortable, with a very efficient air conditioning system and an excellent shower. There was a plentiful supply of towels, changed every other day. We had stayed in Gardone and Limone before, and enjoyed ourselves immensely, promising to go on a diet when we returned, we had eaten so well. We were really looking forward to a week in Garda. Rooms in the Imperial were OK, smallish, but with a balcony overlooking the pool (you have to get one of these to be sure of air conditioning). 5 mins walk to the lake. But the food was the let-down. The hotel was excellent. It had been totally refurbished. Everything was spotless. The food was very good and the staff were frendly and efficient. It is less than 300 m from the lake and restaurants. We could not fault anything. Would definately go again.

Stayed here for a week on a bed & breakfast basis. The breakfast was fine, plenty of choice & all you can eat. The location couldnt be bettered - 5 minutes from the lake, shops, restaurants & bars yet as it was up a side street it was not noisy. The hotel is family owned and the staff could not have been more helpful - from welcoming us with a glass of prosecco to waiving the normal garage charge as there was nowhere to park on the street. They took advantage of the fact that nearly every hotel in the area was booked out because of a festivity and sold us a tiny ugly room with old furniture for 80 € ($100). The bathroom was dirty and in the morning there wasn't even lukewarm water - it was ice-cold. Breakfast was ok. Would never stay there again. Stay away!

I stayed here with my wife and 2 of our friends. We were two married couples all over 60. There were a mix of young and old there. We stayed in June 2005. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were spotless. We had rooms with Balconies over looking the pool. The food was lovely too. No complaints. Location was good. Easy access to lake and town. All walking distance - approx 150 meters. Apparently the hotel is due to be refurbished later this year ready for the 2006 season - which should make it even... more

Food was disgusting and totally inedible. Found cockroaches in my bedroom. Owners were unfriendly and extremely unhelpful. Would not recommend. Needs a visit from a Health and Safety Inspector.

Great hotel Attentive staff Remarkable food Delightfull setting Amenities beyond compare. i cannot recommend this hotel, too highly. well worth the cost, value beyond compere.

we spent six days at the Imperial Hotel in Garda Lake Garda great value for money clean, and very friendly food was average but for the price we paid it was excellent value
