Hotel Eden

We have just returned from a 14 day stay at Hotel Eden in Garda. This is the 4th time that we have stayed at this hotel and it certainly won't be the last! Very friendly helpful staff, clean and really good local food in the restaurant. Our room was comfortable, with a very efficient air conditioning system.The towels are changed everyday and the rooms are cleaned everyday also. We are a group of six family members that stayed in the Eden. We found all the staff to be very friendly and pleasant. The Hotel is situated outside the main part of the resort but two of our group were aged 70 and they managed the walk. It is not a stiff climb. The food at the Hotel is typical Italian, simple but fresh. The kitchens are spotless, as is the dining room and the rest of the Hotel. Myself and my partner found the food adequate but enjoyable.pool area was excellent clean pool and gardens free chairs and sunbeds,rooms serviced each day overall cleanliness we found to be excellent. Took a coach trip and stayed at this hotel, and had a great time. Hotel was very clean andstaff were very friendly, the owners even had time to teach me some basic Italian, so I could book tickets for the ferry and buses. Food was very good and service excellent.They even put dinner back so we could watch the England world cup games.There is a nice swimming pool in the well kept gardens.If you want nightlife this is not the place for you, as there was not much to do in the evenings, but relax. This is a great little hotel on the hill above Garda. It is situated about 15 minutes walk away from the town, but the walk is ambient and it allows you to see a couple of great restaurants that the locals use (hostilaria la cross, Graspe) on the way. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. The rooms are of a decent size, as were the beds. The balcony we had was excellent and we got a lake view for no extra charge(the lake is quite far away, but a nice touch). It was great for a glass of wine in the late afternoon. My wife and I have just returned from a week’s stay at the Hotel Eden and, quite frankly, it has to be the worst Italian hotel we have stayed at in thirty years. Its good points are a reasonable garden and somewhat quirky if rather filthy pool but otherwise both the public and private areas are kept very clean. The welcome we received from the owners and staff was virtually non-existent which we found strange as every where else we have been in Italy we have found the locals very friendly. Just spent a week in the Eden and enjoyed it. The hotel is very nice although is a good 20 min (at least 1 mile slightly down to garda and up to the hotel) walk from Garda and is difficult for people with walking difficulties. There is a courtesy busfrom the hotel opposite which we never used but talking to other guests was not to be relied on as to timings and talk of waiting up to 1 hour (not our experience as we never used it but other guests comments). Just returned after a relaxing and very enjoyable holiday in beautiful Garda. The Hotel Eden is situated about a 20 minute walk from the lake. The walk is ejoyable and after the first few times does not seem long. There is a courtesy bus from the hotel opposite for those who wish to use it. The Hotel Eden is a lovely place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival at the Eden. We were greeted by the owner who was a friendly chap. The bedroom was a little on the old fashioned side but extremely clean and well appointed. The meals were more than adequate with a choice for evening meal. There was a small bar, which was serviced by another member of the family. We stayed at the Eden in Aug/Sept 03 this was a late booked holiday and was allocation on arrival. The Eden was a very pleasant hotel the rooms although not large were more than adequate with en-suite, a fan & hair dryer, we had views over the hillside. The food was more than adequate with a choice of menu. The staff (I believe to be all of the same family) were very friendly. Lovely garden and a pool - however the pool was 'stepped' to the next depth rather than sloped and this could be a little frighening when you suddenly went down!... more
