Hilton Santo Domingo

I stayed or rather lived at this hotel over the course of 6 months on and off. I would say this is the best hotels in Santo Domingo for a business traveller. The rooms are nice and clean - I loved the white sheets and bedding. I think most of the rooms have some sort of view of the ocean. I was able to get the kind of drinks I wanted in the mini bar without a problem. The internet worked on most occassions but sometime it would be down for "maintenance". Please don't go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's soooo small! The pool was the smallest thing i've ever seen! And the worst part was the stage was outdoors ( it rained a lot). The rooms were okay. Right next to the entrance is a DUMP!!! I'm sorry to some people that think that place was nice, but really, IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!

The rooms were clean. The room service was okay. The restaurant staff - need more training and should learn how to give the same level service to all guests. The breakfast buffet was beautifully displayed. The chef seemed a little grumpy when asked what type of cheese was being used for my omelette. The fitness room was great - open with lots of mirrors and beautiful view of ocean. The Concierges were pretty in their new uniforms, but worthless. This was a wonderful hotel, very classy, rooms were immaculate, housekeeping was very attentive. There is a casino on the second floor of the hotel, several restaurants and a large pool with a pool bar. The view was great, the hotel is right on the water, there is only a main street separating it. You can go down to the water but there is no beach area, just some trees and rocks. There are several benches lining the street next to the water to sit down, but it might not be relaxing as the drivers in Dominican Republic love their car... more

My wife & I stayed here for four days while in Santo Domingo for a surgical procedure. This is a virtually new hotel - clean rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows (all with direct Caribbean view), wonderful white, fluffy duvets. The bell, desk, and wait staff were attentive and courteous. Only minus - the two beautiful concierges failed to follow through on all four of our requests of them.

Hilton in Santo Domingo is new and very clean with a professional staff. Good in house restaurant, wireless internet, etc. Among the Jaragua and Intercontinental, this is the best business hotel in Santo Domingo.

we always stay at hilton coral hamas ,this sept 2006 someone actually saw off my locks from my suitcase and stole cash from my wallet but did not take my passport but left me enought cash to take taxi back to the airport the hotel took us to police dept to file a report of a robbery the hitlon guest service manager andres vesgques said it will take 30 labor days,,,,it is now 3 months and no reply i called and email Mr Vesques for two months he finally email me back and said his service was down,,,,,but... more

Stayed at this hotel on business. Don't listen to the stupid reviews. This was a great business hotel, the staff was helpful, spoke good english and knew our names by the second day. The hotel is new and very central. Good internet, great executive lounge and breakfast buffett. Jamie in the lobby bar had great restaurant recomendations. (Vasuvios, Davey Crocketts) The maid service was very good, and they came in twice a day. I get aggravated at some of the reviews in here, this is not the all inclusive vaction place for the kids.... more

Stayed here for a conference. Check in was quick - and they even offered me a beer as I checked in - that's never happened to me before. Rooms were fine, and I like bathrooms with a view. The bed was comfy. The hotel has high speed internet, including wireless in the ballroom, which was great as I could use my laptop while attending the conference.

Fabulous hotel in central Santo Domingo with great rooms and excellent service. Despite the fact that they couldn't find my reservation (which was made on the Hilton website), once we'd overcome this hurdle, the hotel and staff were great. Excellent room, but perhaps more importantly, incredibly helpful and responsive staff, which I find a rarity in the Dom Rep. I certainly won't be looking elsewhere for hotels in Santo Domingo.
